We investigated the effect of black sea bream extracts on changes in pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)in murine *** levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines[interleukin(IL)-6,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-12/IL-23(p40)and IL-17A]and anti-inflammatory cytokines[IL-4,IL-10 and interferon-γ(IFN-γ)]were *** of murine splenocytes with acetone+methylene chloride(A+M)and methanol(MeOH)extracts significantly decreased LPS-induced IL-6,IL-12/IL-23(p40)and IL-17A productions after 6 h incubation(p<0.05).The A+M and MeOH extracts significantly increased LPS-induced IL-4 and IFN-γproductions at 48 and 72 h incubation(p<0.05).Treatment with A+M extract resulted in significantly higher IL-10 production in splenocytes after 72 h(p<0.05).Conclusively,black sea bream extracts were shown to be efficient in falling several pro-inflammatory cytokines while rising anti-inflammatory *** our results suggest that black sea bream extracts selectivity modulate immune events.

With the introduction of 5G technology,the application of Internet of Things(IoT)devices is expanding to various industrial ***,introducing a robust,lightweight,low-cost,and low-power security solution to the IoT environment is ***,this study proposes two methods using a data compression technique to detect malicious traffic efficiently and accurately for a secure IoT *** first method,compressed sensing and learning(CSL),compresses an event log in a bitmap format to quickly detect ***,the attack log is detected using a machine-learning classification *** second method,precise re-learning after CSL(Ra-CSL),comprises a two-step *** uses CSL as the 1st step analyzer,and the 2nd step analyzer is applied using the original dataset for a log that is detected as an attack in the 1st step *** the experiment,the bitmap rule was set based on the boundary value,which was 99.6%true positive on average for the attack and benign data found by analyzing the training *** results showed that the CSL was effective in reducing the training and detection time,and Ra-CSL was effective in increasing the detection *** to the experimental results,the data compression technique reduced the memory size by up to 20%and the training and detection times by 67%when compared with the conventional *** addition,the proposed technique improves the detection accuracy;the naive Bayes model with the highest performance showed a detection rate of approximately 99%.

This study aimed to determine the effects of globular proteins(soy protein isolate and egg-white protein)incorporation on the physicochemical properties of gelatin gels for the *** gelation was considered through primarily heat-induced gelation of the globular proteins and following cold-set gelation of gelatin during *** gelatin gel was prepared with porcine skin gelatin at 6%(w/v)*** mixed gelatin gels(treatment),two different mixing ratios(gelatin:globular protein)were considered as 1:1 and 1:2,respec-tively,by replacing the portion of porcine skin gelatin powder with the two globular *** processing yield was found(p>0.05),but there was the small numerical difference in protein content(6.21-6.47 g/100 g)between treatments(pnantly contributed to forming the microstructure of mixed gelatin *** together,the mixed gelatin gels at 1:2 mixing ratio could achieve the both protein content(over 6 g/100 g)and hardness(gums intake level,below 20,000 N/m^(2))criteria of the Korean Industrial Standard for elderly ***,the stepwise incorporation technique of globular pro-teins could be useful to manufacture a gelatin gel with high-essential amino acids and a soft texture for the elderly.

BACKGROUND While primary intestinal lymphangiectasia(PIL)is considered a rare condition,there have been several reported cases in ***,the absence of clear guidance from diagnosis to treatment and prognosis poses challenges for both physicians and *** To enhance understanding by investigating clinical presentation,diagnosis,treatment,complications,and prognoses in adult PIL *** We enrolled adult patients diagnosed with PIL between March 2016 and September *** primary outcome involved examining the diagnosis and treatment process of these *** secondary outcomes included identifying complications(infections,thromboembolism)and assessing prognoses(frequency of hospitalization and mortality)during the follow-up *** Among the 12 included patients,peripheral edema(100%)and diarrhea(75%)were the main presenting *** tests showed that all the pati-ents exhibited symptoms of hypoalbuminemia and ***,the predominant findings were edema of the small intestine(67%)and ascites(58%).The typical endoscopic finding with a snowflake appearance was observed in 75%of *** the 12 patients,two responded positive-ly to octreotide and sirolimus,and eight who could undergo maintenance therapy discontinued *** due to PIL led to infection in half of the patients,thromboembolism in three patients,and one *** PIL can be diagnosed in adults across various age groups,with different severity and treatment responses among patients,leading to diverse complications and ***,tailored treatments will be *** anticipate that our findings will contribute to the management of PIL,an etiology of protein-losing enteropathy.

As time and space constraints decrease due to the development of wireless communication network technology,the scale and scope of cyber-attacks targeting the Internet of Things(IoT)are ***,it is difficult to apply high-performance security modules to the IoT owing to the limited battery,memory capacity,and data transmission performance depend-ing on the size of the *** research has mainly reduced power consumption by lightening encryption ***,it is difficult to defend large-scale information systems and networks against advanced and intelligent attacks because of the problem of deteriorating security *** this study,we propose wake-up security(WuS),a low-power security architecture that can utilize high-performance security algorithms in an IoT *** introducing a small logic that performs anomaly detection on the IoT platform and executes the security module only when necessary according to the anomaly detection result,WuS improves security and power efficiency while using a relatively high-complexity security module in a low-power environment compared to the conventional method of periodically exe-cuting a high-performance security *** this study,a Python simulator based on the UNSW-NB15 dataset is used to evaluate the power consumption,latency,and security of the proposed *** evaluation results reveal that the power consumption of the proposed WuS mechanism is approxi-mately 51.8%and 27.2%lower than those of conventional high-performance security and lightweight security modules,***,the laten-cies are approximately 74.8%and 65.9%lower,***,the WuS mechanism achieved a high detection accuracy of approximately 96.5%or greater,proving that the detection efficiency performance improved by approximately 33.5%compared to the conventional *** performance evaluation results for the proposed model varied depending on the applied anomaly-detection

AIM: To investigate sectoral changes in the mean peripapillary choroidal thickness(PCT) in patients with unilateral branch retinal vein occlusion(BRVO). METHODS: This retrospective, interventional study included 41 patients with acute, unilateral BRVO without macular edema. All patients completed at least a 6-month follow-up period. The PCT was measured at eight locations(temporal, superotemporal, superior, superonasal, nasal, inferonasal, inferior, and inferotemporal). In addition to calculating the average of all locations, the peripapillary choroidal area was divided into four sectors: superior(average of superotemporal PCT, superior PCT, and superonasal PCT), temporal, inferior(average of inferotemporal PCT, inferior PCT, and inferonasal PCT), and nasal. RESULTS: In the BRVO-affected eyes, the mean PCT was 177.7±69.8 μm(range, 70.1-396.0 μm) at baseline and 127.8±54.8 μm(range, 56.4-312.1 μm) at 6 mo(Pnalysis, the mean PCT in each sector was significantly reduced in over 6 mo in the BRVO-affected eyes(all Pnasal sector, P=0.599).CONCLUSION: Sectoral analysis shows that the mean PCTs in all sectors are reduced significantly over 6 mo in the BRVO-affected eyes, but not in the non-affected contralateral eyes.

Utility of a deep learning model and a clinical model for predicting bleeding after endoscopic submucosal dissection in patients with early gastric cancer

BACKGROUND Bleeding is one of the major complications after endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)in early gastric cancer(EGC)*** are limited studies on estimating the bleeding risk after ESD using an artificial intelligence *** To derivate and verify the performance of the deep learning model and the clinical model for predicting bleeding risk after ESD in EGC *** Patients with EGC who underwent ESD between January 2010 and June 2020 at the Samsung Medical Center were enrolled,and post-ESD bleeding(PEB)was investigated *** split the entire cohort into a development set(80%)and a validation set(20%).The deep learning and clinical model were built on the development set and tested in the validation *** performance of the deep learning model and the clinical model were compared using the area under the curve and the stratification of bleeding risk after *** A total of 5629 patients were included,and PEB occurred in 325 *** area under the curve for predicting PEB was 0.71(95%confidence interval:0.63-0.78)in the deep learning model and 0.70(95%confidence interval:0.62-0.77)in the clinical model,without significant difference(P=0.730).The patients expected to the low-(<5%),intermediate-(≥5%,<9%),and high-risk(≥9%)categories were observed with actual bleeding rate of 2.2%,3.9%,and 11.6%,respectively,in the deep learning model;4.0%,8.8%,and 18.2%,respectively,in the clinical *** A deep learning model can predict and stratify the bleeding risk after ESD in patients with EGC.

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) is known as a multipurpose crop producing biomass for energy thus, the study was conducted to select the elite mutants with higher biomass produced through mutation. Obtained from the national Agricultural Genetic Resources Center (naGRC) in Korea, the seeds of the original natural resource named IT202801 (control) were irradiated with 250 Gy gamma-ray. The agronomic performances, genetic variation and histological analysis of the elite mutant lines were investigated at M2 generation in comparison with the control. Significant differences were observed from the previous three evaluations of the eight mutants. Nine plants, including the control and eight mutants, had little difference in the number of flowering days from July 23 to July 25. The leaf shape of the control was entire, while the leaf shape of the mutant was palmate. Of the eight lines, M2IT20-5 showed better performance in regard to diameter, dry weight and seed weight per plant. The random amplified polymorphic Dna (RAPD) analysis produced a genetic diversity of 72.7% within the genotypes used. A dendrogram was constructed based on the RAPD fragments. Differentiation was demonstrated between the control and kenaf mutants. Taken together, the mutant line, M2IT20-5, can be useful as a resource for high biomass production.
