IN718 alloy was fabricated by laser powder bed fusion(PBF) for examination of microstructure, precipitates and mech.nical properties in th. as-built state and after different h.at treatments. Th. as-built alloy h.d a ch.racteristic fine cellular-dendritic microstructure with.Nb, Mo and Ti segregated along th. interdendritic region and cellular boundary. Th. as-built alloys were th.n subjected to solution h.at treatment(Sh.) at 980°C or 1065°C for 1 h. Sh. at 980°C led to th. formation of δ-ph.se in th. interdendritic region or cellular boundary. Th. segregation was completely removed by th. Sh. at 1065°C, but recrystallization was observed, and th. carbides decorated along th. grain boundaries. Th. as-built alloy and alloys with.Sh. at 980°C and 1065°C were two-step aged, wh.ch.consisted of annealing at 720°C for8 h.followed by annealing at 620°C for 8 h. Transmission electron microscopy revealed th. precipitation of λ’ and λ" in all alloys after two-step aging, but th. amount and uniformity of distribution varied. Th. Vickers h.rdness of th. PBF IN718 alloy increased from 296 h. to 467 h. after direct aging. Th. h.rdness decreased to 267 h. and 235 h. after Sh. at 980°C and 1065°C, respectively, but increased to 458 h. and 477 h. followed by aging. Th. evolution of Young’s modulus after h.at treatment exh.bited similar trend to th.t of h.rdness. Th. h.gh.st h.rdness was observed for IN718 after Sh. at 1065°C and two-step aging due to precipitation with.greater amount and uniform distribution.

Th. manganese concentration of austenitic stainless steel decreases from th. inner layer towards th. surface of th. plasma (ion) carburized layer due to th. evaporation of manganese from th. specimen surface. Th. carbon concentration in th. carburized layer is influenced by alloyed elements such.as Cr, Ni, Si, and Mo, as well as Nitrogen. Th.s study examined th. effects of nitrogen on th. properties of th. carburized layer of h.gh.nitrogen stainless steel. Plasma (ion) carburizing was carried out for 14.4 ks at 1303 K in an atmosph.re of Ch.+h. gas mixtures under a pressure of 350 Pa. Th. plasma carburized layer of th. h.gh.nitrogen stainless steel was th.nner th.n th.t of an austentric stainless steel containing no nitrogen. Th.s suggested th.t th. nitrogen raised th. activity of carbon in th. plasma carburized layer, GDOES measurement indicated th.t th. nitrogen level in th. layer did not vary after plasma (ion) carburizing.

Renewable algae biomass, Scenedesmus obliquus, was used as substrate for generating electricity in two ch.mber microbial fuel cells （MFCs）. From polarization test, maximum power density with.pretreated algal biomass was 102mW·m^2 （951mW·m^3） at current generation of 276mA·m^-2. Th. individual electrode potential as a function of current generation suggested th.t anodic oxidation process of algae substrate h.d limitation for h.gh.current generation in MFC. Total ch.mical oxygen demand （TCOD） reduction of 74% was obtained wh.n initial TCOD concentration was 534mg · L^-1 for 150 h.of operation. Th. main organic compounds of algae oriented biomass were lactate and acetate, wh.ch.were mainly used for electricity generation. Oth.r byproducts such.as propionate and butyrate were formed at a negligible amount. Electroch.mical Impedance Spectroscopy （EIS） analysis pinpointed th. ch.rge transfer resistance （112Ω ） of anode electrode, and th. exch.nge current density of anode electrode was 1214 nA·cm^-2.

Spinel zinc ferrite(ZnFe_(2)O_(4),ZFO)is a potential ph.toanode material for ph.toelectroch.mical(PEC)water splitting because of its ideal bandgap(1.9–2.1 eV)and superior ch.mical stability in aqueous ***,th. low ch.rge collection efficiency significantly h.nders th. improvement in PEC ***,we report an ultrafast and effective flame activation route to enh.nce th. ch.rge collection properties of ***,h.gh.temperature flame(>1300℃)facilitated surface and grain boundary diffusions,increasing th. grain size and connectivity of th. ZFO ***,th. reducing atmosph.re of th. flame enabled th. formation of surface defects(oxygen vacancy and Fe^(2+)),th.reby increasing th. ch.rge carrier density and surface adsorption ***,th.se two factors promoted ch.rge transport and transfer kinetics,resulting in a 10-fold increase in th. ph.tocurrent density over th. unactivated ***,we deposited a th.n Al_(2)O_(3)overlayer to passivate th. ZFO surface and th.n th. NiFeOx oxygen evolution catalyst(OEC)to expedite h.le injection into th. *** surface passivation and OEC deposition led to a remarkable ph.tocurrent density of~1 mA/cm^(2)at 1.23 V versus th. reversible h.drogen electrode,wh.ch.is th. h.gh.st value among all reported ZFO ***,th. NiFeOx/Al_(2)O_(3)/F-ZFO ph.toanode ach.eved excellent ph.tocurrent stability over 55 h.96%retention)and superior faradaic efficiency(FE>94%).Our flame activation meth.d is also effective in improving th. ph.tocurrent densities of oth.r spinel ferrites:CuFe_(2)O_(4)(93 times),MgFe_(2)O_(4)(16 times),and NiFe_(2)O_(4)(12 times).

We evaluated wh.th.r LIM-kinase 2 inh.bitor （LIMK2i） could improve erectile function by suppressing corporal fibrosis th.ough.th. normalization of th. Rh.-associated coiled-coil protein kinase 1 （ROCK1）/LIMK2/Cofilin path.ay in a rat model of cavernous nerve crush.injury （CNCl）. Sixty 11-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided equally into five groups： sh.m surgery （S）, CNCl （I）, and CNCl treated with.low-dose （L）, medium-dose （M）, and h.gh.dose （h. LIMK2i. Th. L, M, and h.groups were treated with.a daily intraperitoneal injection of LIMK2i （2.5, 5.0, and 10.0 mg kg-1 body weigh., respectively） for 1 week after surgery. Th. erectile response was assessed using electrostimulation at 1 week, postoperatively. Penile tissues were processed for Masson＇s trich.ome staining, double immunofluorescence, and Western blot assay. Erectile responses in th. h.group improved compared with.th. I group, wh.le th. M group sh.wed only partial improvement. A significantly decreased smooth.muscle/collagen ratio and an increased content of fibroblasts positive for ph.sph.-/IMK2 were noted in th. I group. Th. M and h.groups revealed significant improvements in h.stological alterations and th. dysregulated LIMK2/Cofilin path.ay, except for LIMK2 ph.sph.rylation in th. M group. Th. inh.bition of LIMK2 did not affect th. ROCK1 protein expression. Th. content of fibroblasts positive for ph.sph.-LIMK2 in th. h.group returned to th. level found in th. S group, wh.reas it did not in th. M group. h.wever, th. L group did not exh.bit such.improvements. Our data suggest th.t th. inh.bition of LIMK2, particularly with.administration of 10.0 mg kg^-1 body weigh. LIMK2i, can improve corporal fibrosis and erectile function by normalizing th. LIMK2/Cofilin path.ay.
