A boundary mode localized on one side of a finite-size lattice can tunnel to the opposite side which results in unwanted *** wisdom tells that the tunneling probability decays exponentially with the size of the system which thus requires many lattice sites before eventually becoming negligibly *** we show that the tunneling probability for some boundary modes can apparently vanish at specific ***,similar to bound states in the continuum,a boundary mode can be completely trapped within very few lattice sites where the bulk bandgap is not even *** intriguingly,the number of trapped states equals the number of lattice sites along the normal direction of the *** provide two configurations and validate the existence of this peculiar finite barrier-bound state experimentally in a dielectric photonic crystal at microwave *** work offers extreme flexibility in tuning the coupling between localized states and channels as well as a new mechanism that facilitates unprecedented manipulation of light.

Hepatitis B virus surface antigen （HBsAg） inRNA has been enriched from a hepatoma cell line （PLc/PRF/5） by specific polysome immunoprecipitation and used for cDNA cloning. A HBsAg cDNA clone was identified by in situ hybridization with a cloned viral probe. It was characterized by restriction endonuclease mapping and DNA sequence analysis. Molecular hybridization of PLc/PRF/5 cellular DNA and RNA to [32P]-labeled HBsAg cDNA revealed the integration of at least six copies of the hepatitis B virus （HBV） DNA into the host genome and expression of three DNA species confining HBsAg-specific sequences. The possible role of HBV in the oncogenesis of primary hepatocellular carcinoma is discussed.

Nonlinear dielectric metasurfaces provide a promising approach to control and manipulate frequency conversion optical processes at the nanoscale,thus facilitating both advances in fundamental research and the development of new practical applications in photonics,lasing,and ***,we employ symmetry-broken metasurfaces made of centrosymmetric amorphous silicon for resonantly enhanced second-and third-order nonlinear optical *** the rich physics of optical quasi-bound states in the continuum and guided mode resonances,we comprehensively study through rigorous numerical calculations the relative contribution of surface and bulk effects to second-harmonic generation(SHG)and the bulk contribution to third-harmonic generation(THG) from the ***,we experimentally achieve optical resonances with high quality factors,which greatly boosts light-matter interaction,resulting in about 550 times SHG enhancement and nearly 5000-fold increase of THG.A good agreement between theoretical predictions and experimental measurements is *** gain deeper insights into the physics of the investigated nonlinear optical processes,we further numerically study the relation between nonlinear emission and the structural asymmetry of the metasurface and reveal that the generated harmonic signals arising from linear sharp resonances are highly dependent on the asymmetry of the *** work suggests a fruitful strategy to enhance the harmonic generation and effectively control different orders of harmonics in all-dielectric metasurfaces,enabling the development of efficient active photonic nanodevices.

Effective removal of emerging contaminants(Ecs)to minimize their impacts on human health and the natural environment is a global *** the removal of Ecs in water,we fabricated a seaweed spherical microsphere catalyst with cu cation-πstructures by in situ doping of cu species and ascorbic acid in mesoporous silica(cu-c-MSNs)via a hydrothermal *** results indicate that bisphenol A(BPA)is substantially degraded within 5 min under natural conditions,with its biological toxicity considerably ***,industrial wastewater could also be effectively purified by cu-c-MSNs/H_(2)O_(2) *** presence of metal sites and the complexation of Ecs via cation-πinteraction andπ-πstacking on the catalyst surface were directly responsible for the polarization distribution of electrons,thus activating H_(2)O_(2) and dissolved oxygen(DO).The removal of contaminants could be attributed primarily to 1)the activation of H_(2)O_(2) into ^(·)OH to attack the contaminants and 2)self-cleavage because of the transfer of electrons from the contaminants to the *** study provides an innovative solution for the effective treatment of Ecs and has positive implications for easing global environmental crises.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries（AZIBs） have emerged as a promising high-efficiency energy storage system due to the high energy density,low-cost and environmental ***,the practical application of AZIBs is severely restricted by the challenges faced by the Zn anode,which include uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion and hydrogen evolution ***,a simple and convenient physical vapor deposition（PVD）method is reported for fabricating uniform graphite as a protection layer on the surface of Zn *** high conductivity graphite layer on Zn anode（denoted as Zn@c） not only benefits the uniform distribution of the electric field,but also provides numerous Zn nucleation sites to regulate and navigate Zn-ion stripping/plating ***,the graphite layer with a poor catalytic activity endows the Zn@c anode with a highly suppressed hydrogen ***,a hydrogen and dendrite free anode is achieved with artificial anticatalytic carbon layer on Zn anode,exhibiting a high reversibility and excellent cycling stability over 2600 h at the current density of 5 mA·cm-2with a capacity of 2.5 mAh·cm-2and longtime cycling stability for assembled full *** work strategically designs the properties of the artificial interface layer to effectively address various challenges simultaneously,which presents insights for the future development of high-performance rechargeable AZIBs.

Background Oils are important sources of energy in pig *** combination of oils with different degree of saturation contributes to improve the utilization efficiency of the mixed oils and may reduce the cost of oil *** experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of oils with different degree of saturation on the fat digestibility and corresponding additivity and bacterial community in growing *** Eighteen crossbred(Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire)barrows(initial body weight:29.3±2.8 kg)were surgically fitted with a T-cannula in the distal *** experimental diets included a fat-free basal diet and 5 oil-added *** 5 oil-added diets were formulated by adding 6%oil with different ratio of unsaturated to saturated fatty acids(U:S)to the basal *** 5 oils were palm oil(U:S=1.2),canola oil(U:S=12.0),and palm oil and canola oil were mixed in different proportions to prepare a combination of U:S of 2.5,3.5 and 4.5,*** The apparent and standardized ileal digestibility(AID and SID)of fat and fatty acids increased linearly(Pcreased except for SID of fat and c18:*** AID and SID of fat and fatty acids differed among the dietary treatments(Pcept for SID of unsaturated fatty acids(UFA)and c18:*** one-slope broken-line analyses for the SID of fat,saturated fatty acids(SFA)and UFA indicated that the breakpoint for U:S of oil was 4.14(R^(2)=0.89,Pc18:1,c18:2 and UFA in the mixtures was not different from the calculated SID of fat,c18:1,c18:2 and ***,the determined SID of c16:0,c18:0 and SFA in the mixtures were greater than the calculated SID values(Pce of Romboutsia and Turicibacter in pigs fed diet containing palm oil was greater than that in rapeseed oil treatment group,and the two bacteria were negatively correlated with SID of c16:0,c18:0 and SFA(P<0.05).

The exploitation of high performance redox-active substances is critically important for the development of non-aqueous redoxﬂow ***,three tetrathiofulvalene(TTF)derivatives with different substitution groups,namely TTF diethyl ester(TTFDE),TTF tetramethyl ester(TTFTM),and TTF tetraethyl ester(TTFTE),are prepared and their energy storage properties are *** has been found that the redox potential and solubility of these TTF derivatives in conventional carbonate electrolytes increases with the number of ester *** battery with a catholyte of 0.2 mol L^(-1) of TTFTE delivers a speciﬁc capacity of more than 10 Ah L^(-1) at the current density of 0.5 c with two discharge voltage platforms locating at as high as 3.85 and 3.60 V ***/Liþ.Its capacity retention can be improved from 2.34 Ah L^(-1) to 3.60 Ah L^(-1) after 100 cycles by the use of an anion exchange membrane to block the crossover of TTF *** excellent cycling stability of the TIF esters is supported by their well-delocalized electrons,as revealed by the density function theory ***,the introduction of more and larger electron-withdrawing groups is a promising strategy to simultaneously increase the redox-potential and solubility of redox-active ma-terials for non-aqueous redoxﬂow batteries.
