Background Hyperprolactinaemia is a common adverse effect of antipsychotics （APs）. The results of Peony-Glycyrrhiza decoction （PGD） as a potentially useful adjunctivetreatment for hyperprolactinaemia are *** This meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials （RCTs） examined the effcacy and safety of adjunctive PGDtherapy for AP-induced *** English （PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO） and Chinese （Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data） databases were systematicallysearched up to 10 June 2018. The inclusion criteria were based on PICOS-Participants： adult patients with schizophrenia; Intervention： PGD plus APs; Comparison： APs plus placebo or AP monotherapy; Outcomes： effcacy and safety; Study design： RCTs. The weighted mean difference （WMD） and risk ratio （RR） along with their 95% CIs were calculated using Review Manager （RevMan） V.5.3 *** Five RCTs （n=450） were included and analysed. Two RCTs （n=140） were double-blind and four RCTs （n=409） reported ‘random’ assignment with specifc description. The PGD group showed a signifcantly lower serum prolactin level at endpoint than the control group （n=380, WMD：？32.69 ng/mL （95% CI -41.66 to 23.72）, p〈0.00001, I2=97%）. Similarly, the superiority of PGD over the control groups was also found in the improvement of hyperprolactinaemia-related symptoms. No difference was found in the improvement of psychiatric symptoms assessed by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale （n=403, WMD： -0.62 （95% CI -2.38 to 1.15）, p=0.49, I^2=0%）. There were similar rates of all-cause discontinuation （n=330, RR 0.93 （95% CI 0.63 to 1.37）, p=0.71, I^2=0%） and adverse drug reactions between the two groups. According to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation approach, the level of evidence of primary and secondary outcomes ranged from ‘very low’ （14.3%）, ‘low’ （42.8%）, ‘moderate’ （14.3%）, to ‘high’ （28.6%）.Conclusions Current evidence

Cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarct and leukoencephalopathy(CADASIL) is the most common monogenic form of cerebral small-vessel disease characterised by recurrent strokes. Behavioural disturbance also presents in a significant proportion of subjects as neurotic spectrum disorders and psychotic features are rarely reported. In this case report, we highlight a 32-year-old man with CADASIL syndrome, who had overt psychotic symptoms with neurological signs later on.

Psychotic manifestations of brain tumours are rare but described in the literature mostly along with other neurological defcits. Memory loss, diffculty in attention and concentration, depression, anxiety, and mood symptoms are commonly described in brain tumours. A schizophrenia-like picture without a defcit in motor or sensory function may land the clinician into a diagnostic dilemma. Primary central nervous system lymphoma （PCNSL） is a highly malignant disease with high mortality and needs immediate attention. Our case which had a unique recurrence in the postoperative period with psychotic symptoms can be an eye-opener to be more vigilant about underlying clinical extension.

Background Agitation is very common in patients with acute stage schizophrenia, and injection of antipsychotics and clonazepam is widely used. Network meta-analysis of these comparisons among three injection treatments has been seldom *** To compare the efficacy and safety of various injections for agitation symptoms in Chinese patients with *** Searches were made in PubMed, Embase and Web of Knowledge, Cochrane Library, Wanfang data, CNKI, SinoMed and VIP databases up to 18 February 2018. Standard search strategies were performed by two reviewers according to the Cochrane Review Group. The Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials statement was used to assess the methodological quality of the studies. STATA was used to perform meta-analysis. The Cochrane Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development and Evaluation(GRADE) was used to assess the strength of *** A total of 15 studies were included in the network meta-analysis. There were 11 studies comparing ziprasidone with haloperidol, and four studies comparing haloperidol with clonazepam. The results showed that ziprasidone is more effective than haloperidol and clonazepam(sucra: 77.2, 72.8 and 0) in the treatment of agitation symptoms. There was the effect size(standardised mean difference(SMD)) in the three groups: haloperidol: SMD=2.278, 95% CI 1.836 to 2.719; ziprasidone: SMD=2.536, 95% CI 2.082 to 2.990; and clonazepam: SMD=1.360, 95% CI 0.127 to 2.593. The acceptability was assessed by the incidence of excessive sedation, which showed that ziprasidone and haloperidol were similar with both being superior to clonazepam(sucra: 0.3, 0.7 and 99.0). Ziprasidone had significantly less adverse effects than haloperidol in effects of extrapyramidal system(EPS)(z=5.01, p<0.001). There were no statistically significant differences between haloperidol and ziprasidone in tachycardia and abnormal ECG(z=1.69, p=0.091; z=0.87, p=0.386; respectively). Based on GRADE, the strength

GPX-GI is a cytosolic tetrameric Se-dependent glutathione peroxidase, similar in properties to GPX-1. Unlike the almost ubiquitous GPX-1, GPX-GI is mainly expressed in the epithelium of gastrointestinal tract. GPX-GI contributes to at least fifty percent of GPX activity in rodent small intestmal epithelium. The total GPX activity consists of at least 70% of selenium-dependent GPX activity in this *** analyzing a panel of mouse mterspecies DNA from the Jackson Laboratory's backcross resource,we mapped Gpx2 gene to mouse chromosome 12 between D12Mit4 and D12Mit5, near the Ccs1 locus which contains a colon cancer susceptibility gene. A pseudogene, Gpx2-ps is mapped to mouse chromosome *** of Gpx2 gene expression in three pairs of C57BL/6Ha and ICR/Ha mice which are respectively resistant and sensitive to dimethylhydrazine-induced colon cancer, we found a higher Gpx2 mRNA level in C57BL/6Ha colon than ICR/Ha colon. Interestingly, a lower level of GPX activity is found in the resistant strain of mice. Because GPX-1 has three times higher specific activity than GPX GI, our data suggest that the decreased GPX activity may result from a higher level of Gpx2 gene expression in those cells co-express GPx1 gene

Bipolar disorder is associated with high rates of general medical conditions, but few cases of overlap between bipolar disorder and chronic lymphocytic infammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids （CLIPPERS） have been reported in the current literature. The following is a case of a 29-year-old patient with a previous major depressive episode comorbid with CLIPPERS. Following glucocorticosteroid therapy, the patient switched to mania-like presentation and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder due to another medical condition. So it is strongly suggested that high-dose corticosteroid pulse therapy could easily induce psychiatric disturbances for patients with previous psychiatric symptoms, and there may be potential links between bipolar disorder and CLIPPERS in the area of infammation.
