A rich fauna of Ephemeroptera(mayfly),Plecoptera(stonefly) and Trichoptera(caddisfly)(EPT) were collected from 14 highland streams discharging into the Temenggor Reservoir in Perak in the northern peninsular *** of the 3 orders,Ephemeroptera was the most diverse but Trichoptera was the most abundant.45 genera that belonged to 25 families of EPT were *** of EPT varied significantly between orders and types of streams they *** diversity and abundance were higher in the second and third order *** was no significant relationship between environmental parameters and diversity as well as abundance of EPT in these *** diversity indices together with EPT taxa richness scores referred to clean water environment,hence very suitable for these *** EPT taxa richness calculated for the 14 streams reflected that 13 out of 14 streams were undisturbed having good water quality(value of EPT taxa richness > 10).Previous logging and mining activities were suspected to be the main cause for tremendous disappearance of EPT genera in the Kelian *** no previous human activities were recorded around the Telang stream,natural phenomena possibly contributed to low abundance of these insects in the Telang stream.

The zwitterionic intermediate generated from the reaction of triphenylphosphine with electron deficient acety- lenic compounds was trapped by various NH acids. The synthesis resulted in a new class of highly functionalized heterocyclic compounds. Some of the reactions produced E and Z isomers. And the stability and transformation of them were studied by dynamic 1H NmR and density functional theory （DFT） calculations.

An optical bandwidth analysis of a quantum-well （16 nm） transistor laser with 150-μm cavity length using a charge control model is reported in order to modify the quantum-well location through the base region. At constant bias current, the simulation shows significant enhancement in optical bandwidth due to moving the quantum well in the direction of collector-base junction. No remarkable resonance peak, limiting factor in laser diodes, is observed during this modification in transistor laser structure. The method can be utilized for transistor laser structure design.

Elemental analysis of some Egyptian ores and industrial iron samples by neutron activation analysis

Elemental analysis of iron ore samples and first industrial iron production prepared by the Egyptian Iron and Steel Company of Helwan near Cairo were determined by instrumental neutron activation analysis technique. Five samples from each kind were irradiated for a 48 hours at a thermal neutron flux of 4×10 12 n/(cm 2.s) in the first Egyptian research reactor ET RR 1. Also the Pneumatic irradiation Rabbit system (PIRS) attached to the reactor in Inshass, was used to measure the elements of short life time. The gamma ray spectra were recorded by means of the hyper pure germanium detection system. The concentration percentage values of major, minor and trace elements are presented. The long and short lived isotopes were considered. A comparative study and a discussion on the elemental concentration values are given.

Computer networks and power transmission networks are treated as capacitated flow networks.A capacitated flow network may partially fail due to ***,the capacity of each edge should be optimally assigned to face critical situations-i.e.,to keep the network functioning normally in the case of failure at one or more *** robust design problem(RDP)in a capacitated flow network is to search for the minimum capacity assignment of each edge such that the network still survived even under the edge’s *** RDP is known as ***,capacity assignment problem subject to system reliability and total capacity constraints is studied in this *** problem is formulated mathematically,and a genetic algorithm is proposed to determine the optimal *** optimal solution found by the proposed algorithm is characterized by maximum reliability and minimum total *** numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.

Recently,natural substances in the form of nanoparticles are increasingly being used in different field,particularly in medicines to enhance their beneficial effects in treatment and *** cells of the breast(mCF-7)have been chosen to be examined and treated in vitro with conventional drug Tamoxifen(Tam)and tannin nanoparticles extract(NP99)individually or in *** reagent has been applied to assess the cell viability and propagation percentage,DNA fragmentation and mRNA relative expression of apoptotic genes to study the cell death *** results showed that Tam and tannin NP99 triggered cytotoxic activity towards the mCF7 *** reduce the viability and induced high potent repressive activity on cell proliferation percentage and induced apoptosis as indicated by rising the percentage in DNA *** of NP99 extract exhibited its effect in a dose and *** combined treatment of Tam and NP99 were much more efficient than individual *** could be concluded that NP99 is considered a promising natural anticancer agent as a new tool in therapeutic strategies.

In the distributed networks,many applications send information from a source node to multiple destination *** support these applications requirements,the paper presents a multi-objective algorithm based on ant colonies to construct a multicast tree for data transmission in a computer *** proposed algorithm simultaneously optimizes total weight(cost,delay and hop)of the multicast *** results prove the proposed algorithm outperforms a recently published multi-objective multicast Algorithm specially designed for solving the multicast routing ***,it is able to find a better solution with fast convergence speed and high reliability.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)provide a reliable and energyefficient solution for data collection from the Narrowband Internet of Things(NB-IoT)***,the UAV’s deployment optimization,including locations of the UAV’s stop points,is a necessity to minimize the energy consumption of the UAV and the NB-IoT devices and also to conduct the data collection *** this regard,this paper proposes GainingSharing Knowledge(GSK)algorithm for optimizing the UAV’s *** GSK,the number of UAV’s stop points in the three-dimensional space is encapsulated into a single individual with a fixed length representing an entire *** superiority of using GSK in the tackled problem is verified by simulation in seven *** provides significant results in all seven scenarios compared with other four optimization algorithms used before with the same ***,the NB-IoT is proposed as the wireless communication technology between the UAV and IoT devices.

Spiral garnet porphyroblasts are known to record lengthy periods of deformation and metamorphism by preserving single or multiple FIAs(Foliation Intersection Axis)formed normal to tectonic shortening *** to technological advances in X-ray computed micro-tomography(XCmT),FIAs can now be readily determined in relatively large samples in contrast to previous methods that require the preparation of a set of radial vertical and horizontal thin sections of *** scanning not only alleviates tedious thin section based procedures but also illuminates the complete internal architecture of a rock sample allowing three-dimensional(3D)quantitative shape analysis of an individual porphyroblast as well as precise measurement of *** applied the technique to a sample from the Hunza Valley in the Karakoram metamorphic complex(KmC),NW Himalayas,containing numerous garnet porphyroblasts with spiral-shaped inclusion *** XCmT imaging reveals an E-W trending FIA within the sample,which is consistent with orthogonal N-S collision of the India-Kohistan Island Arc with *** long axes(X_(GT))have variable plunges that define a broad sub-vertical maximum and a small sub-horizontal *** X_(GT) principle maxima lie at N-090 and *** maxima lie at N-020 and *** relationships between X_(GT) axes and FIA orientation in the sample suggest that porphyroblast shapes are controlled by the geometry of the lens-shaped microlithons in which they tend to nucleate and *** orientation of inclusion trails and matrix foliations in the sample are correlated with three discrete tectono-metamorphic events that respectively produced andalusite,sillimanite and kyanite in the *** staurolite growth in the sample reveals how the rocks extruded to the surface via a significant role of roll-on tectonics,which can be correlated with the Central Himalayas.
