Precipitation study was carried out in Ni-35 at. pct Cr alloy by measuring electrical resistivity at different ageing temperatures and long ageing times. During ageing, it was observed that electrical resistivity initially rose with ageing time and then fell after very long ageing at a constant temperature. The initial increase in resistivity during ageing may be attributed to the formation of GP zones/Cr-rich precipitates at early stages by nucleation process and decrease in resistivity, and after attaining a maximum, is due to the growth of precipitate particles and subsequently by coarsening of these precipitates. The results of electrical resistivity measurements during ageing were confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis indicating the formation of a Cr-rich phase and a Cr3Ni2 phase in the Ni matrix.

Background:Autism spectrum disorder(AsD)is defined by standardized criteria of qualitative impairments in social interaction,qualitative impairments in communication,and restricted and stereotyped patterns of behavior,interests,and activities.A significant number of children diagnosed with AsD suffer a loss of previously-acquired skills,which is suggestive of neurodegeneration or a type of progressive encephalopathy with an etiological pathogenic basis occurring after *** date,the etiology of AsD remains under debate,however,many studies suggest toxicity,especially from mercury(Hg),in individuals diagnosed with an *** present study evaluated concerns about the toxic effects of organic-Hg exposure from Thimerosal(49.55%Hg by weight)in childhood vaccines by conducting a two-phased(hypothesis generating/hypothesis testing)study with documented exposure to varying levels of Thimerosal from ***:A hypothesis generating cohort study was undertaken to evaluate the relationship between exposure to organic-Hg from a Thimerosal-containing Diphtheria-Tetanus-acellular-Pertussis(DTaP)vaccine in comparison to a Thimerosal-free DTaP vaccine administered,from 1998 through 2000,for the risk of AsD as reported in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting system(VAERs)database(phase I).A hypothesis testing case–control study was undertaken to evaluate the relationship between organic-Hg exposure from Thimerosal-containing hepatitis B vaccines administered at specific intervals in the first six months of life among cases diagnosed with an AsD and controls born between 1991 through 1999 in the Vaccine safety Datalink(VsD)database(phase II).Results:In phase I,it was observed that there was a significantly increased risk ratio for the incidence of AsD reported following the Thimerosal-containing DTaP vaccine in comparison to the Thimerosal-free DTaP *** phase II,it was observed that cases diagnosed with an AsD were significantly more likely than controls to rece

Relative leaf chlorophyll （Chl.） content, leaf gas exchange, Chl. fluorescence, plant biological biomass, and fruit yield were evaluated in growing hot pepper （Capsicum annuum L.） during the fruit-growing stages in hot summer under three shade levels （un-shade, 30% shade, and 70% shade） and four soil water contents （sWC） of 40-55%, 55-70%, 70-85%, and 85- 100% of field moisture capacity （FMC）. Hot pepper crops were more affected by light irradiance than by soil moisture and by their interaction during the whole observed periods. Hot pepper attained greatest relative leaf Chl. content （expressed as sPAD value） and photosynthetic activity when cultivated with 30% shade, resulting in the highest plant biological biomass and fruit yield. Although 70% shade improved leaf photosynthetic efficiency （expressed as Fv/Fm or Fv＇/Fm＇）, crops obtained the lowest photosynthetic rate, photochemical quenching coefficient （qP）, and non-photochemical quenching coefficient （NPQ）. This showed that light irradiance was insufficiency in s70% （70% shade） treatment. The leaf net photosynthetic rates （PN）, Fc/Fm, and fruit yield increased gradually as sWC levels increased from 40-55% to 70- 85% FMC, but decreased as sWC was higher than 70-85% FMC. The water consumption increased progressively with sWC levels, but water-use efficiency （WUE） was the highest when soil moisture was 55-70% FMC. Interaction of shade and soil moisture had significant effects on PN and FJFm, but not on other parameters. Under drought stress （40-55% and 55-70% FMC）, 30% shade could relieve the droughty damage of crops and improve photosynthetic capacity and WUE, but 70% shade could not, oppositely, aggravate the damage. The positive correlation （r2 =0.72） between leaf PN and fruit yield was existent. This indicated that improvement of leaf photosynthesis would increase potentially marketable yield in hot pepper crops during the full fruit-growing stages. To investigate the prevalence, correlates, attitude and treatment seeking behavior of erectile dysfunction （ED） in type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM） patients in the primary care setting, a multi-center cross-sectional survey using a structured anonymous self-administered questionnaire was performed in 10 general outpatient clinics. Of the 603 subjects （91% response rate）, the prevalence of ED men, as defined by the International Index of Erectile Function, was 79.1%. Most subjects had mild ED （28.9%）, followed by mild-to-moderate ED （27.9%）, then moderate ED （13.4%） and severe ED （9%）. Nearly 55% of those with ED did not consider themselves as having ED. Less than 10% of them had ever sought medical treatment, although 76.1% of them wished to receive management from doctor（s） should they be diagnosed with ED. They considered the most important management from doctors to be clinical assessment （41.7%）, followed by management of potential underlying cause （37.8%）, referral to specialist （27.5%）, education （23.9%）, prescription of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors （16.9%） and referral to ~：ounseling service （6.7%）. The prevalence of ED was strongly associated with subjects who thought they had ED （odds ratio （OR） = 90.49 （20.00-409.48, P 〈 0.001）） and were from the older age group （OR = 1.043 （1.011-1.076, P = 0.008））. In conclusion, ED is highly prevalent among T2DM men. The majority of them wanted management from doctors should they have ED, but only a minority would actually voice out the request. screening of ED among T2DM men using structural questionnaire allowed the diagnosis of more than half of the ED cases, which otherwise would have gone undiagnosed.

This paper presents a corrosion assessment of copper spent nuclear fuel disposal canisters in crystalline rock,using hydrogeological modeling.A simplified approach is considered,to avoid complex and time-consuming computer *** simplified case is presented as a base case,with changes in the hydrogeological parameters presented as variant *** results show that in Taiwan’s base case,decreasing the hydraulic conductivity of the rock or decreasing the hydraulic conductivity of dikes results in a shorter transport path for sulfide and an increase in corrosion ***,the estimated canister failure time is still over one million years in the variant cases.

Two simple and effective control strategies for a multi-axle heavy truck, modified skyhook damping (MsD) control and proportional-integration-derivative (PID) control, were implemented into functional virtual prototype (FVP) model and compared in terms of road friendliness and ride comfort. A four-axle heavy truck-road coupling system model was established using FVP technology and validated through a ride comfort test. Then appropriate passive air suspensions were chosen to replace the rear tandem suspensions of the original truck model for preliminary optimization. The mechanical properties and time lag of dampers were taken into account in simulations of MsD and PID semi-active dampers implemented using MATLAB/simulink. Through co-simulations with Adams and MATLAB, the effects of semi-active MsD and PID control were analyzed and compared, and control parameters which afforded the best comprehensive performance for each control strategy were chosen. simulation results indicate that compared with the passive air suspension truck, semi-active MsD control improves both ride comfort and road-friendliness markedly, with optimization ratios of RMs vertical acceleration and RMs tyre force ranging from 10.1% to 44.8%. However, semi-active PID control only reduces vertical vibration of the driver's seat by 11.1%, 11.1% and 10.9% on A, B and C level roads respectively. Both strategies are robust to the variation of road level.
