Reaction of nitrous oxide with m.thane to synthesis gas:A therm.dynam.c and catalytic study

The aim.of the present study is to explore the coherence of therm.dynam.c equilibrium.predictions with the actual catalytic reaction of CH4 with N2O,particularly at higher CH4 *** this purpose,key process variables,such as tem.erature(300℃-550℃) and a m.lar feed ratio(N2O/CH4 = 1,3,and 5),were altered to establish the conditions for m.xim.zed *** experim.ntal study was conducted over the Co-ZSm.5 catalyst in a fixed bed tubular reactor and then com.ared with the therm.dynam.c equilibrium.com.ositions,where the equilibrium.com.osition was calculated via total Gibbs free energy m.nim.zation *** results suggest that m.lar feed ratio plays an im.ortant role in the overall reaction products *** for N2O conversions,and irrespective of N2O/CH4feed ratio,the therm.dynam.c predictions coincide with experim.ntal data obtained at approxim.tely 475℃-550℃,indicating that the reactions are kinetically lim.ted at lower range of *** exam.le,theoretical calculations show that the H2 yield is zero in presence of excess N2O(N2O/CH4= 5).However over a Co-ZSm.5 catalyst,and with a sam. m.lar feed ratio(N2O/CH4) of 5,the H2yield is initially 10%at 425℃,while above450℃ it drops to ***,H2yield steadily increases with tem.erature and with the level of CH4 conversion for reactions lim.ted by N2O concentration in a reactant *** m.xim.m.attainable(from.therm.dynam.c calculations and at a feed ratio of N2O/CH4=3) H2yield at 550℃ is 38%,whereas at sam. tem.erature and over Co-ZSm.5,the experim.ntally observed yield is about 19%.Carbon deposition on Co-ZSm.5 at lower tem.eratures and CH4 conversion(less than 50%) was also *** higher tem.eratures and levels of CH4conversion(above 90%),the deposited carbon is suggested to react with N2O to form.CO2.

Background:m.dical literature on the prevalence of genetic liver disease is *** this study,we investigated the inhospital healthcare and econom.c burden from.genetic causes of non-alcoholic chronic liver disease(NACLD)and nonalcoholic liver cirrhosis(NALC)in the ***:Data were abstracted from.the National Inpatient Sam.le database between 2002 and 2014 using ICD9 codes for patients discharged with NACLD and NALC secondary to genetic diseases including alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency(A1ATd),cystic fibrosis(CF),Wilson disease(WD),hereditary hem.chrom.tosis(HHC),glycogen storage disease,and disorders of arom.tic am.no-acid m.tabolism.DAAAm..Results:Throughout the study period,there were 19,332 discharges for NACLD associated with the six genetic diseases including 14,368 for *** were$1.09 billion in hospital charges,790 in-hospital deaths,and 955 liver transplants ***,A1ATd was associated with 8,983(62.52%)hospitalizations for NALC followed by WD,CF,and *** highest in-hospital m.rtality was seen with *** greatest frequency of liver transplants was seen with ***:The num.er of hospitalizations for genetic liver diseases continues to *** increased funding and directed research efforts,we can aim.to im.rovem.dical treatm.nts and the quality of life for patients at risk for liver deterioration.

Review on im.unosuppression in liver transplantation

The optim.l level of im.unosuppression in solid organ transplantation,in particular for the liver,is a delicate balance between the benefit of preventing rejection and the adverse side effects of im.unosuppression. There is uncertainty about when this level is achieved in any individual recipient. Im.unosuppression regim.ns vary between individual centers and changes with tim. asnew agents and data are available. Presently concerns about the adverse side effects of calcineurin inhibitor,the m.in class of im.unosuppressive agents used in liver transplantation(LT),has led to consideration of the use of antibody induction therapies for patients at higher risk of developing adverse side effects. The longevity of the transplanted organ is potentially im.roved by better m.nagem.nt of rejection episodes and special consideration for tailoring of im.unosuppression to the individual with viral hepatitis C,hepatocellular carcinom. or pregnancy. This review provides an overview of the current strategies for post LT im.unosuppression and discusses m.difications to consider for special patient populations.

Effect of tim.-of-day and day-of-the-week on congestion duration and breakdown:A case study at a bottleneck in Salem.NH

This work uses regression m.dels to analyze two characteristics of recurrent congestion： breakdown, the transition from.freely flowing conditions to a congested state, and duration, the tim. between the onset and clearance of recurrent congestion. First, we apply a binary logistic regression m.del where a continuous m.asurem.nt for traffic flow and a dichoto- m.us categorical variable for tim.-of-day （Am. or Pm.rush hours） is used to predict the probability of breakdown. Second, we apply an ordinary least squares regression m.del where categorical variables for tim.-of-day （Am. or Pm.rush hours） and day-of-the-week （m.nday-Thursday or Friday） are used to predict recurrent congestion duration. m.dels are fitted to data collected from.a bottleneck on 1-93 in Salem. NH, over a period of 9 m.nths. Results from.the breakdown m.del, predict probabilities of recurrent congestion, are consistent with observed traffic and illustrate an upshift in breakdown probabilities between the Am. and Pm.rush periods. Results from.the regression m.del for congestion duration reveal the presences of significant interaction between tim.-of-day and day-of-the-week. Thus, the effect of tim.-of-day on congestion duration depends on the day-of-the-week. This work provides a sim.lification of recurrent congestion and recovery, very noisy processes. Sim.lification, conveying com.lex relationships with sim.le statistical sum.aries-facts, is a practical and powerful tool for traffic adm.nistrators to use in the decision-m.king process.

Biologics in non-infectious uveitis past,present and future

Our increase in knowledge of the pathophysiology of non-infectious uveitis(NIU)and other im.une-m.diated diseases has been m.rrored over the last two decades by the expansion of therapeutic options in the realm.of im.unosuppressive *** am.ng these advances is the em.rgence of biologics,which offer the prom.se of targeted therapy and the hope of reduced toxicity when com.ared to corticosteroids and“standard”*** the biologics,m.noclonal antibodies blocking tum.r necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)have been shown to be a very effective therapeutic target for uveitis and m.ny associated system.c inflam.atory *** TNF blockers have shown benefit for uveitis,and in 2016,adalim.m.b becam. the first biologic and non-corticosteroid im.unosuppressive to obtain Food and Drug Adm.nistration(FDA)approval in the treatm.nt of *** effective,TNF blockers are not universally so,and safety concerns such as infection and dem.elinating disease m.st be carefully considered and ruled out prior to their use,especially in patients with interm.diate uveitis with which m.ltiple sclerosis is a known *** study has identified novel targets for regulation in the treatm.nt of im.une-m.diated and inflam.atory ***,interleukin and Janus kinase inhibitors in addition to antibodies targeting T cell and B cell activation highlight the expanding field of treatm.nt m.dalities in *** study will be required to better determ.ne the safety and efficacy of biologics in the arm.m.ntarium.of im.unosuppressive treatm.nts for NIU.
