The influence of poly（methylmethacrylate-co-N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone）, P（MMA-co-VP）, on corrosion of carbon steels（J55, N80, P110 SS and C110 steels） in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution saturated with CO2 was evaluated using static high pressure and high temperature（HPHT） autoclave. The surface was further evaluated by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SeM） and contact angle measurements. Quantum chemical calculations have been used to evaluate the structural, electronic and reactivity parameters of the inhibitor on the steels surface. SeM, XRD and contact angle measurement studies reveal that the surface of metals are quite unaffected after use of inhibitor in 3.5% NaCl solution saturated with CO2.

We investigate the approximate solution of the Dirac equation for a combination of Mobius square and Mie type potentials under the pseudospin symmetry limit by using supersymmetry quantum mechanics. We obtain the bound-state energy equation and the corresponding spinor wave functions in an approximate analytical manner. We comment on the system via various useful figures and tables.

Rotatability is a desirable quality of fitting response surface experimental designs. The propertystates that the variance of the estimated response made from the Taylor’s series expansion areconstant on circles, spheres and hyper-spheres about the centre of the design. In this article,a measure of rotatability of modified second-order rotatable design is presented. The variancefunction of a second-order response design and an infinite class of supplementary difference setsis used in coming up with the design.

In this paper, we obtain approximate analytical solutions of the Dirac equation for the shifted Hulthén potential within the framework of spin and pseudospin symmetry limits for arbitrary spin–orbit quantum number κ using the supersymmetry quantum mechanics. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding Dirac wave functions are obtained in closed forms.

The relativistic study of spinless particles under a special case of equal scalar and vector generalized Hylleraas potential with position dependent mass has been studied. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions expressed in terms ofa Jacobi polynomial are obtained using the parametric generalization of NU （Nikiforo-Uvarov） method. In obtaining the solutions for this system, we have used an approximation scheme to evaluate the centrifugal term （potential barrier）. To test the accuracy of the result, we compared the approximation scheme with the centrifugal term and the result shows a good agreement with the centrifugal term for a short-range potential. The results obtained in this work would have many applications in semiconductor quantum well structures, quantum dots, quantum liquids. Under limiting cases, the results could be used to study the binding energy and interaction of some diatomic molecules which is of great applications in nuclear physics, atomic and molecular physics and other related areas. We have also discussed few special cases of generalized Hylleraas potential such as Rosen-Morse, Woods-Saxon and Hulthen potentials.

Motorcycles contribute significantly to the number of automobiles on the roads in Lokoja, Nigeria. This scenario is attributable to pitiable public transport supply and bad roads that are synonymous to the country Nigeria. Motorcycles are the major means of urban mobility in Lokoja due to the fact that the available taxies within the town operate within a designed route only (Felele-Army Barrack and Ganaja-Felele, vice-versa). The situations have led to high increases in the number of motorcycle operators and patronages in Lokoja. To this fact, the paper assessed motorcycle operation as means of urban mobility in Lokoja. The study was conducted using questionnaires and field observation to collect the required data. Data were also collected from the Federal Road Safety Commission and Commercial Motorcycle Association of Nigeria, Lokoja to compliment the data collected from the commercial motorcycle operators and passengers in the study area. The weekly records of movement were sourced from Okada Riders Association in Lokoja. A total of 1125 commercial operators and 4000 commuters were arrived, while 10% of the populations were sampled. Altogether 113 commercial motorcycle operators and 400 passengers were sampled respectively and this amounted to 513 samples. Descriptive statistics such as frequency counts and percentages were employed in the data analysis. Findings revealed that unemployment situation in the state have led many people, particularly the youth, into the commercial motorcycle operation in the city and the ability to provide door-to-door service have made many people patronize commercial motorcycle in the area. On this note, Government should create more job opportunities, introduce the use of three wheel cycles and improve on the operational efficiencies of city taxies which will go a long way in reducing road accidents and thus reducing the influx of commercial motorcycles.

The bound state solutions of the Schr?dinger equation with generalized inverted hyperbolic potential using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method are reported. We obtain the energy spectrum and the wave functions with this potential for arbitrary l-state. It is shown that the results of this potential reduced to the standard potentials—Rosen-Morse, Poschl-Teller and Scarf potential as special cases. We also discussed the energy equation and the wave function for these special cases.
