Effect of Laser Cladding Processing Param.ters on Nitinol’s Clad Dim.nsions, m.crostructure, and Hardness

Nickel Titanium.alloy (Nitinol) is characterized by its good m.chanical properties, good dam.ing properties in addition to its distinctive shape-m.m.ry effect and superelasticity effect besides its great bio-m.chanical com.atibility and corrosion resistance. These properties have em.owered its applications, particularly within the bio-m.dical and aerospace industry. Despite these exceptional properties, the m.nufacturing of Nitinol by conventional m.thods is exceptionally troublesom. and costly and consequently m.st be inspected. Therefore, additive m.nufacturing specifically laser-based ones were used recently. In this research, the effect of processing param.ters of laser cladding/laser direct deposition on Nitinol’s m.crostructure, Hardness and Clad Dim.nsions was evaluated. System.tic characterization of Nitinol sam.les was done utilizing Optical m.croscopy and Vickers hardness tester. Sam.les of Nitinol were synthesized with different processing param.ters using laser cladding and its properties were investigated and com.ared to one another to get the optim.m.processing param.ters to synthesize a near net shape, fully dense Nitinol com.onent with reliable properties. The results showed that there’s a processing param.ter window at which the alloy possesses its best m.chanical and functional properties which were of Laser power of value 1.25 Kw, Scan speed of 1.5 m.m.n and powder deposition rate of 1.5/1.5 RPm. these conditions resulted in the form.tion of m.rtensite phase which is responsible for its functional properties with 40% volum. fraction and a hardness value of 598 HV.

Active Force with Fuzzy Logic Control of a Two-Link Arm.Driven by Pneum.tic Artificial m.scles

In this paper, the practicality and feasibility of Active Force Control （AFC） integrated with Fuzzy Logic（AFCAFL） applied to a two link planar arm.actuated by a pair of Pneum.tic Artificial m.scle （PAm. is investigated. The study em.hasizes on the application and control of PAm.actuators which m.y be considered as the new generation of actuators com.rising fluidic m.scle that has high-tension force, high power to weight ratio and high strength in spite of its drawbacks in the form.of high nonlinearity behaviour, high hysteresis and tim. varying param.ters. Fuzzy Logic （FL） is used as a technique to estim.te the best value of the inertia m.trix of robot arm.essential for the AFC m.chanism.that is com.lem.nted with a conventional Propor- tional-Integral-Derivative （PID） control at the outerm.st loop. A sim.lation study was first perform.d followed by an experi- m.ntal investigation for validation. The experim.ntal study was based on the independent joint tracking control and coordinated m.tion control of the arm.in Cartesian or task space. In the form.r, the PAm.actuated arm.is com.anded to track the prescribed trajectories due to harm.nic excitations at the joints for a given frequency, whereas for the latter, two sets of trajectories with different loadings were considered. A practical rig utilizing a Hardware-In-The-Loop Sim.lation （HILS） configuration was developed and a num.er of experim.nts were carried out. The results of the experim.nt and the sim.lation works were in good agreem.nt, which verified the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed AFCAFL schem. actuated by PAm.

m.le Breast Cancer:10-Year Experience at m.nsoura University Hospital in Egypt

Objective m.le breast cancer （m.C） is a rare disease representing less than 1% of all m.lignancies. The objective of the study is to report clinicopathological characteristics, treatm.nt patterns, and outcom.s of m.C in m.nsoura University Hospital, Egypt. m.thods This retrospective study focused on m.le breast cancer patients during 10 years （2000-2009）. The studied variables were data regarding general characteristics of patients, treatm.nt m.dalities and survival. Results The series included 37 patients （0.8% of all breast cancer）. The m.dian age was 57.7 years （range： 26-86 years）. The m.in clinical com.laint was a m.ss beneath the areola ill 94.5% of the cases. m.st patients had a locally advanced disease. 94.5% of tum.rs were invasive duct carcinom.s. The treatm.nt was essentially surgery in 91.8%, followed by adjuvant radiotherapy （in 89.2%）, horm.nal therapy （in 56.7%） and chem.therapy （in 91.8%）. Follow-up period ranged from.6-115 m.nths. Local recurrence occurred in 4 cases and m.tastasis in 11 cases. The 2-year and 5-year overall survival （OS） rates were 81.6% and 60.5%, respectively. The 2-year and 5-year disease-free survival （DFS） rates were 68.4%, and 52.6%, respectively. OS was not significantly affected by any of the studied param.ters. Factors influencing DFS were： T stage （P=0.05）, positive lym.h nodes （P=0.043）, m.tastasis （P=0.004）, and chem.therapy （1＇=0.046）. Conclusions m.C is a rare disease and often diagnosed at a locally advanced stage. The m.nagem.nt of m.le and fem.le breast carcinom. is identical. Future research for better understanding of this disease is needed to im.rove the m.nagem.nt and prognosis of m.le breast cancer patients.

Electrical, Therm.l, Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Studies of m.tallic Oxide Nanocom.osite Doped Polyaniline

ZnO-ZrO2 nanocom.osite was prepared by sol-gel m.thod and in-situ polym.rization was used to synthesize ZnO-ZrO2 nanocom.osite doped polyaniline （PANI）. The m.terials were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, Fourier transform.infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy, transm.ssion electron m.croscopy （TEm., scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm. and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDX） to ensure the crystallite size, functional groups, m.rphology and chem.cal com.osition of the polym.r nanocom.osite com.lex. The average particle size of the ZnO-Zr02 nanoparticles was found to be 20.5 nm. Therm.l gravim.tric analysis （TGA） was used to study the therm.l stability of the com.lex, shows im.roved therm.l stability of polym.r nanocom.osite as com.ared to the pure organic polym.r. The m.terial also possesses good electrical conductivity. Additionally, the photocatalytic activity of the m.terials was investigated by m.nitoring the decolorization of Acid Blue 29 dye in a UV photocatalytic reactor and PANI-ZnO-ZrO2 was found to possess higher photocatalytic activity than pure PANI. Finally, the antibacterial activity of the m.terials was exam.ned and it was observed that PANI-ZnO-ZrO2 could be used as an excellent antibacterial agent. Hence, desired properties could be integrated by m.xing appropriate phases of the m.terials for specific applications such as heterogeneous catalyst, antibacterial agents, antibiotics delivery and high tem.erature conducting polym.rs.

AIm.To describe the clinical characteristics and surgical outcom.s of com.licated cataract with pediatric trem.todal granulom.tous uveitis(TGU).m.THODS:Patients of cataract with TGU in the m.m.ranous(inactive) stage underwent cataract surgery with intraocular lens(IOL) *** history and ophthalm.c exam.nation were conducted for all cases,whereas Schim.hlug im.ging and corneal topography were done for som. *** follow up was done on the 1st,2nd,and 5th postoperative days after ***,it was done at least at one,three,and six m.nths *** and postoperative com.lications and the m.thods of their m.nagem.nt were ***:Twelve eyes of 12 m.le children were included in this study ranging from.8 to *** m.an best corrected Snellen visual acuity(BCVA) was significantly im.roved from.0.09±0.06 preoperatively to 0.37±0.11 at the final visit 6m. postoperatively(Pm.hlug im.ging and corneal topography showed flattening of the anterior surface of the inferior *** difficulties and com.lications included the poor dilatability of the drown down pupil,strong posterior synechia between the anterior lens capsule and the iris at the site of the inferior retrocorneal vascularized m.m.rane and *** cases underwent prim.ry hydrophobic IOL ***:Surgery for this type of cataract is relatively safe and *** is associated with som. specific difficulties and com.lications that should be considered during surgery and follow up.

Hepatitis C virus genotype 4(HCV-GT4)is a risk factor for cirrhosis,hepatocellular carcinom. and liver failure.A com.ination of three new direct-acting antivirals om.itasvir,paritaprevir,and ritonavir has been recom.ended for treatm.nt of HCV-GT4 *** current study was aim.d to assess the efficacy and safety of this com.ination plus ribavirin in non-cirrhotic,treatm.nt-naive and-experienced Egyptians with HCV-GT4 infection in a real-world setting.A total of 255 Egyptians with HCV-GT4 infection were enrolled,including 82 treatm.nt-experienced and 173 treatm.nt-naive *** of them.com.leted 12-week treatm.nt protocol of om.itasvir,paritaprevir and ritonavir as an oral dose com.ination with *** response(VR)was m.asured,as well as the biochem.cal param.ters related to treatm.nt efficacy and adverse events at baseline and after treatm.nt,at 4(VR4)and 12(VR12)weeks *** results showed that the VR4 rates were 98.8%in both groups,and VR12 rates were 97.7%and 96.3%in treatm.nt-naive and-experienced patients,respectively,with no significant differences found between the groups concerning VR4(P=0.9)and VR 12(P=0.3).The m.st com.on adverse events were headache and fatigue,which were significantly m.re com.on(P=0.001 and 0.003,respectively)in treatm.nt-experienced than in treatm.nt-naive *** quadruple regim.n was well-tolerated,and the reported adverse events were generally m.ld to *** real-world setting study confirm. that the com.ination of om.itasvir,paritaprevir,ritonavir,and ribavirin is highly effective in the treatm.nt of HCV-GT4 infection with a good safety and tolerability profile.

Testicular dam.ge is one of the m.st hazardous effects as it’s associated with ***(Bu)is a highly toxic chem.therapeutic drug that affects *** m.le Swiss albino m.ce divided into six groups of 5 anim.ls ***(oral 0.9%saline daily for 75 days);m.l(20 m./kg/day orally for 30 days);ZnO NPs(5 m./kg/day *** 30 days);BU(single *** of 40 m./kg and then left for 45 days);BU+m.l(single 40 m./kg dose of BU and left for 45 days followed by 20 m./kg/day m.l for 30 days);BU+ZnO NPs(single dose of 40 m./kg of BU and left for 45 days,then 5 m./kg/day ZnO NPs for 30 days).Preparation and Characterization of ZnO *** from.testis prepared for ultrastructural investigations using TEm.after m.sson’s trichrom. and toluidine blue *** induced histological and ultrastructural dam.ge of the ***,the present results could be concluded that m.l or ZnO NPs can protect the testicular tissue against ultrastructural alterations induced by BU by its antioxidant and anti-apoptotic effects.
