Diabetic corneal neuropathy and diabetic retinopathy are ocular complications occurring in the context of diabetes *** corneal neuropathy refers to the progressive damage of corneal *** retinopathy has traditionally been considered as damage to the retinal ***,growing evidence suggests that diabetic retinopathy is a complex neurovascular disorder resulting from dysfunction of the neurovascular unit,which includes both the retinal vascular structures and neural *** retinopathy is one of the leading causes of blindness and is frequently screened for as part of diabetic ocular ***,diabetic corneal neuropathy is commonly overlooked and underdiagnosed,leading to severe ocular surface *** studies have found that these two conditions tend to occur together,and they share similarities in their pathogenesis pathways,being triggered by a status of chronic *** review aims to discuss the interconnection between diabetic corneal neuropathy and diabetic retinopathy,whether diabetic corneal neuropathy precedes diabetic retinopathy,as well as the relation between the stage of diabetic retinopathy and the severity of corneal *** also endeavor to explore the relevance of a corneal screening in diabetic eyes and the possibility of using corneal nerve measurements to monitor the progression of diabetic retinopathy.

Cardiac arrest can lead to severe neurological impairment as a result of inflammation,mitochondrial dysfunction,and post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation neurological *** preconditioning has been shown to improve migration and survival of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells and reduce pyroptosis after cardiac arrest,but the specific mechanisms by which hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells protect against brain injury after cardiac arrest are *** this end,we established an in vitro co-culture model of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells and oxygen–glucose deprived primary neurons and found that hypoxic preconditioning enhanced the protective effect of bone marrow stromal stem cells against neuronal pyroptosis,possibly through inhibition of the MAPK and nuclear factor κB ***,we transplanted hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells into the lateral ventricle after the return of spontaneous circulation in an 8-minute cardiac arrest rat model induced by *** results showed that hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells significantly reduced cardiac arrest–induced neuronal pyroptosis,oxidative stress,and mitochondrial damage,whereas knockdown of the liver isoform of phosphofructokinase in bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells inhibited these *** conclude,hypoxia-preconditioned bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells offer a promising therapeutic approach for neuronal injury following cardiac arrest,and their beneficial effects are potentially associated with increased expression of the liver isoform of phosphofructokinase following hypoxic preconditioning.

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Titanomagnetite concentrate is one of the important titanium *** apparent activation energy(Ea)of the direct reduction of titanomagnetite concentrate was composed of two parts(average activation energy:E_(a)=E_(a-L)+E_(a-Step1),where E_(a-L) is the lattice energy of titanomagnetite concentrate,and is the activation energy of step 1 for the reduction of titanomagnetite concentrate in the route ***^(3+)→^(Step1)Fe^(2+)→^(Step2)Fe_(2)O^(2)→^(Step3)Fe^(0)).Ea(583.43 kJ/mol),(426.4 kJ/mol),and(157.0 kJ/mol)were calculated by the model-free methods based on thermogravimetry and Dmol3 *** with the analysis of activation energy fluctuation and the shifting trend of related mechanism functions,the reduction kinetic system with three main characteristics,namely nucleation,diffusion and concentration fluctuation,was *** addition,the scanning electron microscopy comparison analysis of the samples from microwave reduction and conventional reduction shows that microwave heating could realize the microstructure Ti-Fe separation and reduce the lattice energy of the titanomagnetite concentrate,thus enhancing the reduction process by 7.68%from the perspective of activation energy.

The design optimization of thermal-driven actuators is a challenging task because the performance depends on multiple materials parameters,structural parameters,and working *** this work,we adopted large scale finite element simulation together with machine learning algorithm to fulfill the on-demand design of thermal *** element analysis was used to simulate the performance of thermal actuator with two-layer structure,which generated large amount of dataset by considering the variation of parameters including the moduli,thermal expansion coefficient,sample thickness and length,and *** vector regression(SVR)was adopted to establish the relationship between multiple input parameters and the resulting contact ***,a simple interior point algorithm was used to achieve the on-demand design based on the SVR *** contact pressures of thermal actuator constructed from the optimized parameters deviated less than 15%of the target values.

This study investigates the influence of strategic competition on peer effects in corporate investment by using a sample of 28,522 observations of Chinese listed companies from 2008 to *** study develops a linear-in means model and uses an instrumental variables approach,and uses the competitive strategy measure(CSM)and Lerner index as proxies of competitive strategies and competitive positions to capture the firm-level *** empirical results demonstrate that when firms compete as strategic substitutes and when firms are in higher competitive positions,the peer effects in corporate investment are significant and *** addition,in circumstances of high information asymmetry,firms competing as strategic substitutes and firms in high competitive positions rely more on information related to investment from peer ***,industry policies and barriers do not significantly influence peer effects in *** study offers new empirical evidence regarding peer effects in corporate investment in China.

In this paper, we consider the set partitioning problem with matroid constraint, which is a generation of the k-partitioning problem. The objective is to minimize the weight of the heaviest subset. We present an approximation algorithm, which consists of two sub-algorithms-the modified Edmonds' matroid partitioning algorithm and the exchange algorithm, for the problem. An estimation of the worst ratio for the algorithm is given.

Holding strategies are among the most commonly used operation control strategies. This paper presents an improved holding strategy. In the strategy, a mathematical model aiming to minimize the total waiting times of pas- sengers at the current stop and at the following stops is con- structed and a new heuristic algorithm, shuffled complex evo- lution method developed at the University of Arizona （SCE- UA）, is adopted to optimize the holding times of early buses. Results show that the improved holding strategy can provide better performance compared with a traditional schedule- based holding strategy and no-control strategy. The compu- tational results are also evidence of the feasibility of using SCE-UA in optimizing the holding times of early buses at a stop.

The analytical solution of a thermo-poro-elastic medium in static state weakened by a Griffith crack with finite width is *** virtue of the Fourier cosine and sine integral transform techniques,the mixed boundary-value problem is formulated as three pairs of dual integral equations,which are solved with the help of the Abel *** addition,the stress intensity factor of mode Ⅰ and the crack surface displacement are presented *** examples are performed to show the distribution of displacement and stress over the thermo-poro-elastic *** results indicate that the thermal load will increase or decrease the crack surface displacement,but has a weak influence on the stress intensity *** present work may benefit future engineering applications.
