This work is devoted to the formation doxorubicin (DOX) zinc oxide composites in the form of coating (DOX + ZnO), hydrogels and composite films of DOX with polyvinyl alcohol (DOX + PVA + ZnO) by DC-magnetron deposition of ZnO nanoscale particles (ZnO NPs) on their surfaces (DOX, DOX + PVA) with higher (two times and more) antitumor activity and considerable smaller toxicity at low doses of DOX in compositions compared to the initial drug. Using the methods of spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD), the role of ZnO NPs size on the antitumor activity of doxorubicin zinc oxide compositions is shown. AFM shows presence of many ZnO NPs on the surface DOX. A comparison of the FTIR spectra of DOX and its zinc oxide compositions has shown the presence of new bands of OH valence and deformation vibrations. It is possible to assume that interaction between ZnO and DOX takes place in the form of hydrogen bond, promoting the complexes formation. It is possible that both synergic and hydrogen-bonding ZnO with DOX increase the antitumor activity.

背景本文旨在观察不同速率输注瑞芬太尼是否会降低使脑电双频指数（bispectral index，BIS）≤50的丙泊酚EC50（半数有效浓度）值。方法将72例ASA分级Ⅰ或Ⅱ级拟行气管内插管并靶控输注（TCI）丙泊酚维持麻醉的成人患者，随机分为6组。瑞芬太尼输注速率分别为：B组0．1μg·kg^-1·min^-1,C组0．15μg·kg^-1·min^-1,D组0．2μg·kg^-1·min^-1,E组0．3μg·kg^-1·min^-1,F组0．4μg·kg^-1·min^-1,A组作为对照组不使用瑞芬太尼。在同一浓度瑞芬太尼组中，以第1例患者对TCI4μg/ml丙泊酚的反应决定岳一例患者的效应室浓度（Dixon的“序贯法”）。如果BIS〉50，后一例患者TCI丙泊酚的效应室浓度增加，如果BIS≤50，后一例患者TCI丙泊酚的效应室浓度则减少。同时研究了联合用药的血流动力学效应。结果EC50变化范围为2．4-2．9μg/ml.未发现瑞芬太毫对丙泊酚EC50的累加效应。但是未使用瑞芬太尼的空白对照组对丙泊酚的反应差异较大。使用瑞芬太尼组患者心率下降。结论瑞芬太昆输注不会减少无刺激麻醉患者丙泊酚需求量。在联合输注瑞芬太尼时不应当降低丙泊酚TCI浓度．

A Preliminary Investigation of Adult Defence Style and Physiological Reactivity to Infant Distress Signals

Species whose offspring require extended care-giving ought to be predisposed to being biologically responsive to their infant’s signalling. This paper examined the interplay between biological and psychological aspects of adult response to an infant’s distress. HR (heart rate) and GSR (galvanic skin response) were recorded continuously, while 50 adults listened to white noise and an infant cry audio recording. Participants completed the defence style questionnaire and the state trait anxiety inventory. HR acceleration occurred in response to the control sound, while HR decelerated in response to the infant cry. GSR responsiveness was positively correlated with immature and neurotic defence styles. When controlling for other variables, immature defence was a unique and independent predictor of GSR change in response to infant distress. Defence demonstrated a stronger relationship than self-reported anxiety, than that with physiological responsiveness. Employing defence mechanisms appears to reduce an individual’s perceived anxiety, though it has little effect on physiological arousal levels.

Hypo-activity induced skeletal muscle atrophy and potential nutritional interventions: A review

Periods of hypo-activity result in profound changes in skeletal muscle morphology and strength. This review primarily addresses the differential impact of de-training, bed-rest, limb immobilisation and unilateral lower limb suspension on muscle morphology, strength and fatigability. The degree of muscle atrophy differs depending on the hypo-activity model and the muscles in question, with the leg and postural muscles being the most susceptible to atrophy. Hypo-activity also results in the dramatic loss of strength that often surpasses the loss of muscle mass, and consequently, the nervous system and contractile properties adapt to adjust for this excessive loss of strength. In addition, the degree of muscle strength loss is different depending on the hypo-activity model, with immobilisation appearing to have a greater impact on strength than unloaded models. There is a step-wise difference in the magnitude of muscle loss so that, even after accounting for differential durations of interventions immobilisation ≥ unilateral lower limb suspension ≥ bed-rest ≥ de-training. Muscle fatigability varies between hypoactivity models but the results are equivocal and thismay be due to task-specific adaptations. This review also addresses potential nutritional interventions for attenuating hypo-activity induced muscle atrophy and strength declines, in the absence of exercise. Essential amino acid supplementation stands as a strong candidate but other supplements are good contenders for attenuating hypo-activity induced atrophy and strength losses. Several potential nutritional supplements are highlighted that could be used to combat muscle atrophy but extensive research is needed to determine the most effective.

Aqueous roots extract of Alchornea cordifolia was studied to evaluate its traditional antifertility claim. Antifertility effect of Alchornea cordifolia was evaluated according to the stages of pregnancy of female rats. In the first stage, forty female rats were randomly divided into four groups (10 rats/group) and respectively treated with 1 ml distilled water (control), 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight (BW) per day of Alchornea cordifolia. After laparotomy and at parturition, sites of implantation and resorption on the uterine horns were determined. The ovaries and uterus were collected and weighed. Blood samples were collected for hormonal assay. In the second and third stage of pregnancy, treatment schedule and antifertility parameters were assessed as above for the first stage. Treated groups received daily 400 mg/kg bw of extract of Alchornea cordifolia while Control group received distilled water. It was observed in the first stage of pregnancy that, the number of resorption sites significantly (p lantation site was observed at dose 400 mg/kg after laparotomy as well as the number of pups at parturition at all doses. The body weight of ovaries and uterine horns at dose 400 mg/kg significantly (p l. The extract dose dependently decreased significantly the concentrations of serum progesterone. In the second stage of pregnancy after laparotomy and at parturition, the number of live fetus and the survival ratio significantly (p l discharge and bleeding of animals. In the third stage of pregnancy, the extract caused an early parturition associated with a decreased number of live fetus and the survival ratio with p The results indicate that aqueous roots extract of Alchornea cordifolia could induce inhibitory effects on reproductive functions in female albino rats.

AIM:To test whether a new rinse solution containing polyethylene glycol 35(PEG-35)could prevent ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI)in liver ***:Sprague-Dawley rat livers were stored in University of Wisconsin preservation solution and then washed with different rinse solutions(Ringer’s lactate solution and a new rinse solution enriched with PEG-35 at either 1 or 5 g/l)before ex vivo perfusion with Krebs-Heinseleit buffer *** assessed the following:liver injury(transaminase levels),mitochondrial damage(glutamate dehydrogenase activity),liver function(bile output and vascular resistance),oxidative stress(malondialdehyde),nitric oxide,liver autophagy(Beclin-1 and lCB3)and cytoskeleton integrity(filament and globular actin fraction);as well as levels of metalloproteinases(MMP2 and MMP9),adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK),heat shock protein 70(HSP70)and heme oxygenase 1(HO-1).RESUlTS:When we used the PEG-35 rinse solution,reduced hepatic injury and improved liver function were noted after *** PEG-35 rinse solution prevented oxidative stress,mitochondrial damage,and liver ***,it increased the expression of cytoprotective heat shock proteins such as HO-1 and HSP70,activated AMPK,and contributed to the restoration of cytoskeleton integrity after ***:Using the rinse solution containing PEG-35 was effective for decreasing liver graft vulnerability to IRI.

在西班牙进行环境污染物对猛禽种群压力的最早研究可追溯到20世纪80年代,通过多种角度使用多种前哨猛禽物种。然而,由于没有国家的监测计划,所以研究无论在时间或是空间上都是零星的。对金属的暴露并没有随着时间的推移变化,但存于卵和组织中的铅浓度有所减少。一般来说,在西班牙猛禽样本中检测到的金属浓度通常很低,不足以产生毒副作用。除DDT和DDE,在过去的20年中西班牙猛禽类中大部分以有机氯为基础的杀虫剂已经减少。在几个不同物种的卵中所发现的DDE浓度可以部分地解释在西班牙猛禽能够成功繁殖的原因。

Gastrointestinal infections are a major cause for serious clinical complications in *** induction of antibody responses by B cells is critical for protective immunity against infections and requires CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells(TFH cells).We investigated the ontogeny of CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells in human *** CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells were absent in fetal intestines,CXCR5+PD-1++CD4+T cells increased after birth and were abundant in infant intestines,resulting in significant higher numbers compared to *** findings were supported by scRNAseq analyses,showing increased frequencies of CD4+T cells with a TFH gene signature in infant intestines compared to ***-cultures of autologous infant intestinal CXCR5+PD-1+/−CD4+T cells with B cells further demonstrated that infant intestinal TFH cells were able to effectively promote class switching and antibody production by B *** together,we demonstrate that functional TFH cells are numerous in infant intestines,making them a promising target for oral pediatric vaccine strategies.
