We report a case of acute chylous peritonitis mimicking acute appendicitis in a man with acute on chronic pancreatitis. Pancreatitis, both acute and chronic, causing the development of acute chylous ascites and peritonitis has rarely been reported in the English literature. This is the fourth published case of acute chylous ascites mimicking acute appendicitis in the literature.

Blockade of the programmed death ligand 1(PD-L1) and programmed cell death 1(PD-1) receptor axis represents an effective form of cancer immunotherapy. Preclinical evidence initially suggested that gastric and gastroesophageal junction(GEJ) cancers are potentially immunotherapy-sensitive tumors. Early phase clinical trials have demonstrated promising antitumor activity with PD-1/PD-L1 blockade in advanced or metastatic gastric/GEJ cancer. Microsatellite instability(MSI) and PD-L1 expression have been shown to predict higher response to PD-1 inhibitors as highlighted by the recent approvals of pembrolizumab in treatmentrefractory solid tumors with MSI status and the thirdline or greater treatment of PD-L1 positive advanced gastric/GEJ cancers. However, predictive and prognostic biomarkers remain an ongoing need. In this review, we detail the preclinical evidence and early tissue biomarker analyses illustrating potential predictive biomarkers to PD-1/PD-L1 blockade in gastric/GEJ cancer. We also review the clinical development of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors in gastric/GEJ cancer and highlight several areas in need of future investigation in order to optimize the efficacy of PD-1/PD-L1 blockade in gastric/GEJ cancer.

Health and disaster risk reduction are important and necessary components in building a smart city,especially when climate change may increase the frequency of extreme temperatures and the health risks of urban ***,limited knowledge is available about the best way to disseminate weather warnings and health protection *** study explores the weather information acquisition patterns of the Hong Kong public and examines the sociodemographic predictors of these patterns to establish the potential public health implications of smart city development.A population-based,stratified crosssectional,random digit dialing telephone survey was conducted among the Cantonese-speaking population aged over 15 years in Hong Kong in early *** were conducted based on 1017 valid samples,with a response rate of 63.6%.Cold Weather Warnings were well disseminated in Hong Kong,with 95.7% of the respondents reporting awareness of the public *** and smartphone apps were the two most important channels for weather information *** and education level are the main social-demographic variables associated with the current utilization and future preference of smartphone *** those who were not using a preferredchannel to acquire weather information,61.3% considered switching to a smartphone ***,the patterns of individual health protection measures and self-reported health impacts were significantly different between smartphone app users and *** information dissemination should be tailored to the sociodemographic characteristics of the users.

Pollinators use multiple cues whilst foraging in eluding direct cues from flowers and in direct cues from other pollinators. The use of indirect social cues is common in social in sects, such as honeybees and bumblebees, where a social environment facilitates the ability to use such cues. Bumblebees use cues to forage on flowers according to previous foraging experiences. Flowers are an essential food source for pollinators but also pose a high risk of parasite infection through the shared use of flowers leading to parasite spillover. Nevertheless, bumblebees have evolved behavioral defense mechanisms to limit parasite infection by avoiding contaminated flowers. Mechanisms underlying the avoidance of contaminated flowers by bumblebees are poorly understood. Bumblebees were recorded having the choice to forage on non-contaminated flowers and flowers contaminated by a trypan osome gut parasite, Crithidia bombi. The use of different treatments with presence or absence of con specifics on both con taminated and non-contami nated flowers allowed to investigate the role of social visual cues on their pathogen avoidance behavior. Bumblebees are expected to use social visual cues to avoid contaminated flowers. Our study reveals that the presence of a con specific on flowers either con taminated or not does not help bumblebee foragers avoiding contaminated flowers. Nevertheless, bumblebees whereas gaining experie nee tend to avoid their con specific when placed on contami nated flower and copy it whe n on the non-contami nated flower. Our experime nt suggests a detrime ntal impact of floral see nt on disease avoidanee behavior.

In animal communication systems,individuals that detect a cue(i.e.,“receivers”)are often influenced by characteristics of the cue *** instance,in many species,receivers avoid chemical cues that are released by emitters experiencing *** chemical“disturbance cues”appear to benefit receivers by warning them about nearby danger,such as a predator’s *** the active ingredients in disturbance cues have been largely unexplored,by-products of metabolized protein are thought to play a role for some *** so,the content(quality)and volume(quantity)of the emitter’s diet should affect their disturbance cues,thus altering how receivers perceive the cues and *** Poecilia reticulata are a species known to discriminate among disturbance cues from different types of donors,but dietary variation has yet to be *** this study,we found evidence that diet quality and quantity can affect disturbance cues released by guppy emitters(i.e.,experimental“donors”).Receivers discriminated between donor cue treatments,responding more strongly to cues from donors fed a protein-rich bloodworm diet(Experiment 1),as well as an overall larger diet(Experiment 2).We also found that receivers exposed to higher background risk were more sensitive to disturbance cue variation,with the strongest avoidance responses displayed by high-risk receivers toward disturbance cues from donors fed the high-quality ***,diet,and perhaps protein specifically,affects either the concentration or composition of disturbance cues released by *** variation may be important in information signaling in social species like the guppy.

We conducted a six-year epidemiological study on human coronaviruses（HCoVs） circulating in Hong Kong, using 8275 nasopharyngeal samples from patients with acute respiratory tract infections. HCoVs were detected in 77（0.93%） of the samples by a pan-HCoV RT-PCR assay. The most frequently detected HCoV species was HCoV-OC43（0.58%）, followed by HCoV-229E（0.15%）,HCoV-HKU1（0.13%） and HCoV-NL63（0.07%）. HCoVs were detected throughout the study period（September 2008–August 2014）, with the highest detection rate from September 2010 to August2011（22/1500, 1.47%）. Different seasonal patterns of each HCoV species in Hong Kong were ***-OC43 was predominant in the fall and winter, whereas HCoV-HKU1 showed peak activity in winter, with a few cases occurred in spring and summer. HCoV-229 E mainly occurred in winter and spring, while HCoV-NL63 was predominant in summer and autumn. HCoVs most commonly infect the elderly and young children, with median age of 79.5 years（range, 22 days to 95 years）.Intriguingly, the detection rate of HCoV-OC43 in the age group of ＆gt; 80 years（26/2380, 1.09%） was significantly higher than that in the age group of 0–10 years（12/2529, 0.47%）（P 〈 0.05）. These data provides new insight into the epidemiology of coronaviruses.

大面积灌溉在中国有很悠久的历史。1992年，中国大概有4800万亩灌溉面积，这包括了覆盖了7905万亩土地的144个大型灌区，覆盖了1330万亩土地的5198个中等灌区及许多小型水库、水塘和抽灌区。大中型灌区大约占全国灌溉面积的47％，另外有大约26％灌溉是由农民打井人工浇灌的。由于拥有超过12亿的人口，中国特别关注粮食问题，所以灌溉对于用作粮食的65％的谷物、75％的特种经济作物和90％的蔬菜的种植是至关重要的，除此之外，灌溉区还供应城镇居民和禽畜饮用水的70％—80％。绝大部分这些大中型灌溉系统在五、六、七十年代都发展得很快，其中相当一部分大型供水系统是抽取河道水或其它地表水的，但这些老龄灌溉区已经逐步老化了，而且由于管理模式落后，效率很低。适应农业高产的要求，缩小用水频率、用水量、用水时间是农业优化控制的自动灌溉的潜在要求。本论文就是一份计算机自动控制灌溉系统的方案，它包括了灌站最优化供水程序，这是现代灌溉控制程序的先锋。本方案分2级，第一级是本地监控，由PLC控制机组运行，从最远的终端站接收原始数据;第二级是中央控制，由工业控制机通过软件操作实现对机组的远程控制，包括系统控制、监视和运作模式。
