This paper presents the multidisciplinary study of the southern Italy Plio-Pleistocene sediments involved in the large Montescaglioso *** principal aim of the work is to assess the compositional characters(i.e.,grain-size,mineralogy,petrography and geochemistry)and some rheological features(Atterberg’s limits,plasticity index and activity)of these sediments to enrich our knowledge about the Montescaglioso fine sediments and correlation among the lithological properties *** types of sediments,from a deep geognostic borehole and from the surrounding landslide area,were collected and *** significant compositional differences have been found between the core and landslide area ***,some changes have been detected in sediments along the ***,the-15 to-20 m lithostratigraphic level hosts the highest percentages of phyllosilicates and clay fraction(CF),commonly considered as possible hazard factors for the landslide *** more,in the studied core sediments,the CF contents correlate with the Atterberg’s liquid and plastic limits and a CF value of about 38%was suggested as threshold value for the changing of index properties of *** factors,such as the weathering degree and clay mineral type,do not show significant correlations with the rheological properties of sediments here studied.

This article examines the presence and uses of plants attested in the Chinese medical tradition in the materia medica literature of classical *** is based on the consultation of the major ancient compilations on materia medica of Chinese medicine and classical antiquity,specifically Bencao Gangmu by Li Shizhen(16th cent.)and De materia medica by Dioscorides(1st cent.A.D.).The article is divided in three major parts:the identification of plants used in the Chinese medical tradition in the medicine of the Mediterranean World in Antiquity;the analysis of the knowledge of these plants and their origin in classical antiquity;a comparison of the uses of these plants in the Bencao Gangmu and De materia *** traces the presence of plants of the Chinese medical tradition in Classical *** their exact origin was not known,they were reputed at that time to be native to either India or the Black Sea,two areas that correspond to the ending points of the Silk *** for their uses in both traditions,they correspond for some plants,whereas they do not for others because either the uses attested in the Chinese tradition were not preserved on the Mediterranean or different uses appeared in the Mediterranean *** differentiated uses hint at both continuities and ruptures,with the latter resulting from the long journey of the plants from the Chinese World to the Mediterranean and,at the same time,attempts aimed to diversify and optimize the applications of non-native medicinal substances.

Intraventricular metastases are a rare occurrence,particularly from a primary colorectal *** our knowledge,this is the first report of intraventricular metastasis from rectal cancer.A 72-year-old male presented with a new diagnosis of multiple intraventricular lesions,an anterior mediastinal mass and a rectal *** workup revealed rectal adenocarcinoma with intraventricular metastases and an incidental *** reservoir placement was performed via an awake procedure rather than under general anesthesia due to airway *** fluid(CSF) cytology was positive for malignancy and consistent with *** weeks postoperatively,the patient underwent whole brain *** rare,this diagnosis should always be considered in the differential for solitary or multiple intraventricular *** sampling is a useful alternative to intraventricular biopsy for diagnosis of intraventricular *** placement of Ommaya reservoir is a safe option in the management of patients with intraventricular metastases,especially those who cannot undergo general anesthesia.

随着社交网络的持续发展,其在日常生活中的使用也日益增多;因此,人们愈发依赖这些途径来获取信息。旅游业中也出现了这种交流趋势:大部人游客依靠目的地相关的网络口碑营销以决定是否去该地旅游,尤其某些以情动人的网络口碑营销更能促使他们做决定。深入了解网络口碑营销,并理解哪些方面为游客的情感所系,可能对旅游经理们更好地管理景点有益。因此,本研究着眼于探寻网络口碑营销中各要素对旅游决策的影响:细节的丰富程度、作者的旅游体验、简单友好的写作风格、与作者的情感共鸣以及写手网络口碑营销的数量对旅游决策和所含情感的影响。研究结果表明上述中的三个概念联系紧密:其中网络口碑营销对情感和旅游决策有正面影响,而情感对旅游决策也会产生积极影响。描述性分析发现,更多的样本量符合一点—即这些因素与情感价值关系紧密;但进一步的分析表明,它们对游客情感的确切影响并不明显。此外,研究还揭示了细节的丰富程度和与作者的情感共鸣对旅游决策将产生重要影响。

Diarrhoea is an alteration of normal bowel movement characterized by an increase in the water content, volume, or frequency of stools. Diarrhoea needs to be classified according to the trends over time （acute or chronic） and to the characteristics of the stools （watery, fatty, inflammatory）. Secretory diarrhoeas, mostly acute and of viral aetiology in more than 70% of cases, are by far the most important subtype of diarrhoeas in terms of frequency, incidence and mortality （over 2.5 million deaths/year in developing countries）. Natural and synthetic opiates such as morphine, codeine, and Ioperamide which react with endogenous opiates （enkephalins, beta-endorphins, dynorphins） mainly act on intestinal motility and slow down transit. An antidiarrhoeal drug developed in recent years, racecadotril, acts as an enkephalinase inhibitor. Clinical studies have shown that it is just as effective as ioperamide in resolving acute diarrhoea but with greater reduction in pain and abdominal distension. Some studies have explored the prevalence of diarrhoea in old age. An epidemiological study carried out in Italy by 133 General Practitioners on 5515 elderly outpatients reported a prevalence of diarrhoea, defined according to the Rome criteria, of 9.1%. Infectious diseases （19%） and drug use （16%） were the most common causes of diarrhoea in old age. Regardless of the cause, the treatment of elderly patients with diarrhoea must include rehydration and nutritional support. Every year, more than 50 million tourists travel from industrialized countries to places where hygiene levels are pool. At least 75% of those travelling for short periods mention health problems, and in particular traveller＇s diarrhoea.

In the last two decades major improvements have been reached in the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer(CRC)and,besides chemotherapy,an ampler choice of therapeutic approaches is now available,including targeted and *** that,CRC remains a“big killer”mainly due to the development of resistance to therapies,especially when the disease is diagnosed after it is already *** the same time,our knowledge of the mechanisms underlying resistance has been rapidly expanding which allows the development of novel therapeutic options in order to overcome *** far as resistance to chemotherapy is concerned,several contributors have been identified such as:intake/efflux systems upregulation;alterations in the DNA damage response,due to defect in the DNA checkpoint and repair systems;dysregulation of the expression of apoptotic/anti-apoptotic members of the BCL2 family;overexpression of oncogenic kinases;the presence of cancer stem cells;and the composition of the tumoral microenvironment and that of the gut ***,several mechanisms are also involved in the resistance to targeted and/or *** example,overexpression and/or hyperactivation and/or amplification of oncogenic kinases can sustain resistance to targeted therapy whereas the composition of the gut microbiota,as well as that of the tumoral niche,and defects in DNA repair systems are crucial for determining the response to *** this review we will make an overview of the main resistance mechanisms identified so far and of the new therapeutic approaches to overcome it.

To date,no vaccines or effective drugs have been approved to prevent or treat COVID-19 and the current standard care relies on supportive ***,based on the fast and global spread of the virus,urgent investigations are warranted in order to develop preventive and therapeutic *** this regard,treatments addressing the immunopathology of SARS-CoV-2 infection have become a major ***,while a rapid and well-coordinated immune response represents the first line of defense against viral infection,excessive inflammatory innate response and impaired adaptive host immune defense may lead to tissue damage both at the site of virus entry and at systemic *** studies highlight relevant changes occurring both in innate and adaptive immune system in COVID-19 *** particular,the massive cytokine and chemokine release,the so-called“cytokine storm”,clearly reflects a widespread uncontrolled dysregulation of the host immune *** the prospective of counteracting cytokine storm is compelling,a major limitation relies on the limited understanding of the immune signaling pathways triggered by SARS-CoV-2 *** identification of signaling pathways altered during viral infections may help to unravel the most relevant molecular cascades implicated in biological processes mediating viral infections and to unveil key molecular players that may be ***,given the key role of the immune system in COVID-19,a deeper understanding of the mechanism behind the immune dysregulation might give us clues for the clinical management of the severe cases and for preventing the transition from mild to severe stages.

Effects of oncological treatments on semen quality in patients with testicular neoplasia or lymphoproliferative disorders

Pretherapy sperm cryopreservation in young men is currently included in good clinical practice guidelines for cancer patients. The aim of this paper is to outline the effects of different oncological treatments on semen quality in patients with testicular neoplasia or lymphoprol iferative disorders, based on an 8-year experience of the Cryopreservation Centre of a large public hospital. Two hundred and sixty-one patients with testicular neoplasia and 219 patients with lymphoproliferative disorders who underwent chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy and pretherapy semen cryopreservation were evaluated. Sperm and hormonal parameters （follicle-stimulating hormone （FSH）, luteinizing hormone （LH）, testosterone, inhibin B levels） were assessed prior to and 6, 12, 18, 24 and 36 months after the end of cancer treatment. At the time of sperm collection, baseline FSH level and sperm concentration were impaired to a greater extent in patients with malignant testicular neoplasias than in patients with lymphoproliferative disorders. Toxic effects on spermatogenesis were still evident at 6 and 12 months after the end of cancer therapies, while an improvement of seminal parameters was observed after 18 months. In conclusion, an overall increase in sperm concentration was recorded about 18 months after the end of cancer treatments in the majority of patients, even if it was not possible to predict the evolution of each single case ＇a priori＇. For this reason, pretherapy semen cryopreservation should be considered in all young cancer patients.
