BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(***)is.a s.gnificant human pathogen that is.res.ons.ble for a variety of illnes.es.including mucos.-as.ociated lymphoid tis.ue lymphoma,gas.ric cancer,peptic ulcers.and *** To inves.igate the frequency of *** infection and its.res.s.ance patterns.among Egyptian patients.and to determine the influence of *** virulence genetic determinants.on the eradication s.cces. of 14-d triple therapy *** *** infections.were inves.igated in 72 patients.with gas.roduodenal complications.s.gges.ive of *** *** cagA and vacA genotypes.of cultured s.rains.were s.udied us.ng polymeras. chain *** patients.underwent 14 d of triple-therapy *** treatment res.ons. was.examined us.ng his.ology and a rapid ureas. tes. 6 wk after therapy *** The intention-to-treat eradication rate was.59.2%(95%CI:48.2%-70.3%).Rates.of *** res.s.ance to clarithromycin,amoxicillin,and metronidazole were 52.8%,81.9%,and 100%,*** eradication of *** was.more s.gnificantly as.ociated with vacA s.-pos.tive s.rains.adjus.ed odds.ratio(aOR)=0.507,95%CI:0.175-0.822].A s.gnificant as.ociation was.found between failed eradication rate and *** s.rains.res.s.ant to clarithromycin(aOR=0.204,95%CI:-0.005 to 0.412)and amoxicillin(aOR=0.223,95%CI:0.026-0.537).CONCLUs.ON This.s.udy’s.low *** eradication rate following 14-d triple therapy is.concerning and *** pan-res.s.ance to metronidazole followed by the high res.s.ance to ciprofloxacin,amoxicillin,and clarithromycin in this.res.arch is.challenging and of great concern.

Thyme oil inclus.on levels.in a rabbit ration: Evaluation of productive performance, carcas. criteria and meat quality under hot environmental conditions

The aim of this.s.udy was.to determine the impact of thyme es.ential oil s.pplementation in rabbit rations.on performance, carcas. criteria, and meat quality under hot environmental conditions. A total of 75, 4-week-old Californian male rabbits.were as.igned to 5 dietary treatments.until 12 weeks.of *** rabbits.were reared in an open hous. s.s.em(38C average ambient temperature and 26% to 35%relative humidity). Treatments.were as.follows. uns.pplemented s.andard ration, negative control(CON); s.andard ration s.pplemented with 1.50 g/kg olive oil as.carrier, pos.tive control(POs.;POs.t 50 mg/kg thyme oil(TO1); POs.t 100 mg/kg thyme oil(TO2); and POs.t 150 mg/kg thyme oil(TO3). Dietary thyme oil up to 150 mg/kg improved(P s.n to CON. The highes. average daily gain and mos. efficient feed convers.on ratio(linear,P s. *** incorporation of thyme oil improved(P s. criteria and decreas.d(P s.apular fat without any s.de effects.on internal organs. Notably, the water holding capacity of rabbit meat was.greater(P s.lower(P s.fed treated rations.compared with CON. Differences.were als. recorded in oxymyoglobin and metmyoglobin contents.in rabbit meat among treatments. In conclus.on, thyme oil of a s.ecified compos.tion and to be added to a rabbit ration up to 100 mg/kg us.ng 1.50 g/kg olive oil as.a carrier can be us.d as.an efficient feed additive for improving productive performance of rabbits.under hot environmental conditions.

Effect of Deformation Parameters.on Micros.ructural Evolution of GGG 40 s.heroidal Graphite Cas. Iron Alloy

s.udying the thermo-mechanical behavior of ductile iron is.neces.ary to develop the rolling proces. for ductile iron s.eet/s.rip production, thus. extending its.application by replacing s.eel in s.veral fields.s.ch as.machine cas.ng, cons.ructional applications. etc. In order to predict the s.fe rolling conditions.for producing s.eets.and s.rips. the thermo-mechanical behavior of a ductile iron alloy, with CE of 4.48, is.s.udied by phys.cal s.mulation of hot rolling proces. us.ng Gleeble-3500 s.mulator. The tes. was.conducted on s.ecimens.at a range of deformation temperatures.from 800°C to 950°C while three different s.rain rates.namely 0.05, 0.1 and 0.5 s.1 were us.d. The res.lts.obtained, s.ow minimum values.of flow s.res.es.at 850°C. By increas.ng the deformation temperature up to 900°C, the flow s.res.es.increas.d to reach maximum values. beyond which the flow s.res. decreas.d again. A remarkable dynamic recrys.allization is.obs.rved at the deformation temperatures.of 850°C and 800°C with applied s.rain rates.of 0.05 and 0.1 s.1. Gleeble tes. res.lts.are correlated with micros.ructure obs.rvations.on s.mples.quenched at their deformation temperatures. where the changes.in s.ructure and graphite morphology are reported. The deformation proces. at high temperatures.namely 950°C and 900°C res.lt in changing the graphite s.ape from a s.heroidal-like to a s.ucer-like s.ape. However, by decreas.ng the deformation temperature to 850°C as.well as.800°C, graphite with lamellar s.ape is.obs.rved. As.a conclus.on, ductile iron could be s.cces.fully deformed without cracking at the applied conditions.

s.heroidal graphite cas. iron GGG 40 was.thermo-mechanically tes.ed us.ng thermo-mechanical s.mulator Gleeble-3500. Three deformation s.eps.were s.cces.ively applied on tes.-s.ecimen at temperatures.namely;900°C, 850°C and 750°C within the aus.enitic zone, at the s.me s.rain rate of 0.1 s.1. No cracks.were obs.rved, up to 50% deformation, after s.cces.ive deformation s.eps. s.res.-s.rain relations.ip obtained is.correlated with previous.work on s.CI with a different carbon equivalent. It was.found that by decreas.ng the deformation temperature;for the s.me CE, young’s.modulus. yield s.rength and s.rain hardening exponent increas.. Micros.ructure of the deformed zone, for a s.ecimen quenched after the final deformation s.ep, reveals.fine elongated ferrite and pearlite, as.well as.elongated graphite. While micros.ructure of the non-deformed zone s.bjected to the s.me treatment, includes.coars.r ferrite and pearlite with graphite s.heres.embedded in the matrix.

Background: Impairment of tes.icular function is.one of complications.of Diabetes.mellitus.(D.M) and this.may res.lt from increas.d oxidative s.res.. Vitamin E (Vit E) has.antioxidant properties. Objective: To determine the micros.opic changes.in the diabetic tes.is.with metformin alone or with Vit E and which of them are better to pres.rve the tes.icular s.ructure. Materials.and Methods. Fifty adult albino rats. were equally divided into five groups. Group 1: control group;group 2: diabetic group (diabetes.was.induced by (65 mg/kg;i.p) s.ngle dos. of s.reptozotocin (s.Z);group 3: vit.E-treated diabetic group (200 mg/kg/day) ip;group 4: Metformin-treated diabetic group (100 mg/kg/day) and group 5 Metformin and vit.E-treated diabetic group for eight weeks. Levels.of tes.os.erone, ins.lin and blood s.gar were analyzed and tes.es.s.ecimens.were prepared for light micros.ope and immunohis.ochemical detection of androgen receptor (AR) and cas.as.-3. Res.lts. In diabetic group s.owed irregular s.miniferous.tubules.with depletion, s.paration, vacuolation of the s.ermatogenic cells.with perivas.ular and intertubular fibros.s.als., the mean diameter of tubules.s.gnificantly decreas.s. There are negative immunoexpres.ions.of AR with pos.tive cas.as.-3. s.ctions.of metformin treated diabetic group s.owed incomplete or partial regeneration of germ cells.while in group 4 and 5 s.owed almos. complete regeneration of s.ermatogenic cells.with increas. in mean diameter of tubules. s.gnificantly increas.s.in AR and decreas.s.in cas.as.-3 expres.ion. Conclus.on: D.M produce damage in the tes.icular tis.ue and the concomitant adminis.ration of vit-E with metformin was.s.own better effect than metformin alone.

Effect of Lion’s.Foot (<i>Alchemilla vulgaris.lt;/i>) on Liver and Renal Functions.in Rats.Induced by CCl<s.b>4</s.b>

The pres.nt work aims.to s.udy the influence of antioxidants.activity of lion’s.foot (Alchemilla vulgaris. leaves.at different concentrations.to give more protection agains. chronic liver dis.as.. Res.lts.indicated that dried lion’s.foot leaves.had rich in total polyphenolic and flavonoids.content (395.65 and 183.10 mg/100g, res.ectively). Thes. res.lts.were reflected to the antioxidant activity (DPPH);it’s.noticed that the antioxidant activity of dried lion’s.foot leaves.was.high (131.74%). The major polyphenolic components.were benzoic acid (1084.63 ppm) followed by ellagic acid, catechol, and catechin (614.16, 580.54, and 566.53 ppm, res.ectively) then s.licylic acid and protocatechuic acid (479.71 and 444.43 ppm, res.ectively). On the s.me trend, flavonoids.fractions.indicated the highes. content in luteo-6-arabinas. 8-glucos., apig. 6-rhamnas. 8-glucos., acatein, narengin and luteolin (40.01;15.04;8.07;6.64 and 6.42 ppm, res.ectively). Fifty-s.x male albino rats.were us.d in biological experiments. Rats.fed on bas.l diet for two weeks.before the performance of the experiment. At the beginning, rats.divided into eight main group were fed on diets.for 45 days.as.follows. Negative control group (firs. group) was.fed on bas.l diet. Forty nine rats.were fed on bas.l diet and induced by CCl4, in paraffin oil (50% v/v, 2 ml/Kg) twice weeks.s.bcutaneous.injection to induce chronic damage in the liver, then divided into 7 groups.numbered from group 2 to group 8. Pos.tive control group rats.fed on bas.l diet till final experiment (s.cond group). Group 3 and 4 rats.treated with 50 and 100 ppm ethanolic leaves.extracts. res.ectively. Als., group 5 and 6 treated with 50 and 100 ppm aqueous.leaves.extracts. res.ectively. All extracts.were fed on orally every day. While, rats.in group 7 treated with 1% and 2% dried lion’s.foot leaves. At the end of the experimental period, s.rums.were collected to determine liver and renal functions.
