Spectroscopic and Fluorescence Studies on the Trivalent Ce,Eu,Nd and La Metal Ions Rhodamine CFlorescent Dye Complexes

The four isolates solid complexes:[La(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·3H_(2)O,[Nd(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·4H_(2)O,[Eu(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·2H_(2)O,and[Ce(RHC)(NO_(3))_(2)]·5H_(2)O that obtained by the reaction of the nitrate salts of the Ce(Ⅲ),Eu(Ⅲ),Nd(Ⅲ)and La(Ⅲ)ions and rhodamie C(RHC)ligand were interpretative using elemental analysis(C,H and N),molar conductivity,infrared,electronic,fluorescence and 1H-NMR spectra to achieve the speculated suitable *** low molar conductance values of the synthesized RHC complexes concluded the non-electrolytic *** infrared spectra recorded the absence of stretching vibrationν(OH)of the—COOH and presence of two new vibration bands at 1597~1601 and 1383~1399 cm^(-1)which were assigned toνas(COO-)andνs(COO-).The difference between them revealed that the carboxylate group acts as a bidentate ligand.1HNMR spectra of Europium and lanthanum(Ⅲ)complexes were supported the FTIR results based on the absent of proton of the carboxylic ***,the microanalytical and spectroscopic results deduced that RHC acts as a monobasic bidentate ligand,and coordinated to the central metal(Ⅲ)ions via the two oxygen atoms of deprotonated carboxylic *** studies were performed on the metal complexes of Ce^(3+),Tb^(3+),Th^(4+),Gd^(3+)and La^(3+),that referred a quenching in the fluorescene intensity of rhodamine C in the aqueous state after *** antimicrobial assessment against some kind of bacteria and fungi were also checked and recorded enhancement in case of their complexes.

Validation and application of Vierordt’’s spectrophotometric method for simultaneous estimation of tamoxifen/coenzyme Q10 in their binary mixture and pharmaceutical dosage forms

For the sake of improving patient compliance and sustainability of chemotherapy healthcare system, both TC and CoQ10 were formulated as solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs). The study was focused on establishing and validating a simple and reproducible spectrophotometric method for simultaneous determination of TC and CoQ10 in their binary mixture or pharmaceutical dosage forms. A new method based on simultaneous estimation of drug mixture without prior separation was developed. Validation parameters were checked with International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines. The accuracy and reproducibility of proposed method was statistically compared to HPLC. The TC and CoQ10 were quantified at absorptivity wavelengths of 236 nm and 275 nm, respectively. Calibration curves obeyed Beer’s law in range of 2–14 μg/ml with a correlation coefficient (R^2) of 0.999 in both methanol and simplified simulated intestinal fluid (SSIF). The %means recovery of TC and Co Q10 in pure state or binary mixture at various concentration levels were all around 100%.The low values of SD and %RSD (<2%) confirm high precision and accuracy of the proposed method. Formulated SLNs showed different %means recovery in range 81–92% for TC and 32–59% for CoQ10. The data obtained by applying simultaneous Vierordt’s equations showed no statistical significance in comparison to HPLC. Vierordt’s method was successfully applied as a simple, accurate, precise, and economical analysis method for estimating TC and CoQ10 concentrations in pure state, binary mixture and pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Synthesis, in vitro antitumor activity and molecular modeling studies of a new series of benzothiazole Schiff bases

A new series of benzothiazole Schiff bases 3–29 was synthesized and screened for antitumor activity against cervical cancer（Hela） and kidney fibroblast cancer（COS-7） cell lines. Results indicated that compounds 3, 14, 19, 27 and 28 have promising activity against Hela cell line with IC50 values of 2.41,3.06, 6.46, 2.22 and 6.25 mmol/L, respectively, in comparison to doxorubicin as a reference antitumor agent（IC50 2.05 mmol/L）. In addition, compound 3 displayed excellent activity against COS-7 cell line with IC50 value of 4.31 mmol/L in comparison to doxorubicin（IC50 3.04 mmol/L）. In the present work,structure based pharmacophore mapping, molecular docking, protein-ligand interaction, fingerprints and binding energy calculations were employed in a virtual screening strategy to identify the interaction between the compounds and the active site of the putative target, EGFR tyrosine kinase. Molecular properties, toxicity, drug-likeness, and drug score profiles of compounds 3, 14, 19, 27, 28 and 29 were also assessed.

Carbonization, Activation and Description of Activated Carbon from Palm Tree Leaves

One of the maximum residences of activated carbon is adsorption capacity, this significance grows every day in a variety of fields. One of its examples is water treatment, processing of potable, all of those residences deliver capacity of activated carbon in smell elimination and flavor in residues of dissolved natural and color. Activated carbon was made from the carbonization of palm tree leave’s stems and activated using calcium chloride, then tested with an increase in reactivity indicated by iodine adsorption test up to 68.6% reactivity increase in commercial sample and 48.7% in palm tree leaves sample. As the methods and precursors of activated carbon are very diverse and result in deferent adsorption properties, the primary test includes: carbonization of palm tree leaves, size reduction and classification of the charcoal produced, applying an iodine test on the non-activated sample, activating another sample with activating agent CaCl2 to comparison between the activated carbon and the non-activated carbon and shows the increasing in the adsorption capacity for elemental iodine in activated carbon.

Biological silicon nanoparticles improve Phaseolus vulgaris L. yield and minimize its contaminant contents on a heavy metals-contaminated saline soil

The synthesis of biological silicon nano-particles(Bio-Si-NPs)is an eco-friendly and lowcost *** is no study focusing on the effect of Bio-Si-NPs on the plants grown on saline soil contaminated with heavy *** this study,an attempt was made to synthesis Bio-Si-NPs using potassium silica florid substrate,and the identified Aspergillus tubingensis AM11 isolate that separated from distribution systems of the potable water.A twoyear field trial was conducted to compare the protective effects of Bio-Si-NPs(2.5 and 5.0 mmol/L)and potassium silicate(10 mmol/L)as a foliar spray on the antioxidant defense system,physio-biochemical components,and the contaminants contents of Phaseolus vulgaris *** on saline soil contaminated with heavy *** findings showed that all treatments of Bio-Si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly improved plant growth and production,chlorophylls,carotenoids,transpiration rate,net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,membrane stability index,relative water content,free proline,total soluble sugars,N,P,K,Ca2+,K+/Na+,and the activities of peroxidase,catalase,ascorbic peroxidase and superoxide oxide *** of Bio-Si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly decreased electrolyte leakage,malondialdehyde,H2 O2,O2·-,Na+,Pb,Cd,and Ni in leaves and pods of Phaseolus vulgaris *** to ***-Si-NPs were more effective compared to potassium *** of Bio-Si-NPs at the rate of 5 mmol/L was the recommended treatment to enhance the performance and reduce heavy metals content on plants grown on contaminated saline soils.

Synthesis,antimicrobial, antiquorum-sensing and cytotoxic activities of new series of benzothiazole derivatives

New series of benzothiazole derivatives were designed and synthesized. The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus. Compounds 6j and 6o showed the highest activity against E. coli and S. aureus. The antifungal activity of these compounds was also tested against Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus293. Compounds 4c, 4g and 6j exhibited the highest activity against C. albicans. In addition, compounds4 a and 6j displayed promising activity against A. fumigatus 293. The same compounds were examined for their antiquorum-sensing activity against Chromobacterium violaceum ATCC 12472, whereas compounds4 a, 6j and 6p showed moderate activity. The in vitro cytotoxicity testing of the synthesized compounds was performed against cervical cancer（Hela） and kidney fibroblast cancer（COS-7） cell lines. Results indicated that all tested compounds have IC50 values 〉50 mmol/L against both cell lines. Molecular properties, toxicities, drug-likeness, and drug score profiles of compounds 4a–c, 5a, 6g,h, 6j, 6l, 6o and7 c,d were also assessed.

Effect of treating chronic hepatitis C with direct-acting antivirals on extrahepatic cutaneous manifestations

Biological in Vitro and in Vivo Studies of the Milk Thistle Seed Oil

The milk thistle plant is one of the famous plants that have been gaining popularity for its therapeutic potential for centuries. Milk thistle seed oil (MTSO) has been subjected to extensive research. The fixed oil was extracted from the seeds of Silybum marianum (L.) using petroleum ether as a solvent by a soxhlet device. GC-MS was used to identify the chemical composition of the oil. The antioxidant activity of MTSO was tested by the ABTS method, which showed the ability to inhibit lipid peroxidation. In addition, antimicrobial and antifungal investigations were examined. It proved that MTSO has an inhibitory effect against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli), and antifungal effects (Candida albicans). MTSO has a slightly higher effectiveness against fungi than bacteria. Moreover, the cytotoxic activities of the oil on hepatocellular and colorectal carcinoma were examined. MTSO has shown a moderate cytotoxic effect on the HCT-116 cell line and a weak effect on HePG-2. Whereas;in vivo study has been done on five diagnosed patients who have impaired liver function, and were recruited for the study. Their weight ranged from 100 ± 30 kg, their age range was between 39 - 50 years. Each patient was given ten drops of MTSO daily and added to a little water for a four-week study period. MTSO has effects to improve the function of the injured liver. The present work aims to study Milk thistle seed oil, for estimating its pharmacological properties for the liver. This study focused on showing the importance of milk thistle seed oil in our lives as a source of antioxidants, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, and as an anti-cancer of the liver and colon. It also sheds light on its importance as a treatment for impaired liver, function and fatty liver, due to its improvement in all liver function markers, so it can be hired as an effective human therapy.

Assessment of auditory and vestibular functions in vitiligo patients

Objectives: To evaluate audiological and vestibular functions via basic audiological evaluation. otoacoustic emissions and videonystagmography(VNG) in vitiligo *** and methods: 30 vitiligo patients(8 acrofacial and 22 mixed types) as the study group and 30 normal healthy adults as the control group were included in the study. All participants were submitted to basic audiological evaluation. transient and distortion product otoacoustic emmisions(TEOAEs and DPOAEs), vestibular assessment including history taking, office tests and videonystagmography(VNG) and dermatological assessment to determine type, percent of body surface area involvement and duration of ***: This study showed statistically significant difference between control and study groups in pure tone audiometry(PTA) and otoacoustic emissions results. Fitfty percent of vitiligo patients had peripheral vestibular disorders(10 vestibulhar neuritis and 5 posterior canal benign paroxysmal positional ***: The results in this study showed that 50% of vitiligo patients suffered from peripheral vestibular disorders in addition to auditory affection. Vitiligo patients require routine monitoring for auditory and vestibular functions for early identification and monitoring of changes as the disease progress.

Mesenchymal stem cells are more effective than captopril in reverting cisplatin-induced nephropathy

Cisplatin is a powerful anticancer drug but its nephrotoxic effects limit its clinical *** aimed to evaluate the effect of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)injection or of captopril to counteract the cisplatin-induction of *** isolation,preparation and tracking,transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)and interleukin-10(IL-10)expressions,kidney function tests,oxidative stress state,and histological examinations were ***-induced nephropathy was indicated biochemically and confirmed *** treatment showed normal kidney architecture and significantly decreased oxidative stress and TGF-β while increased IL-10 and improved kidney function *** treated with cisplatin+captopril showed noticeable kidney histopathological *** positive impact of MSCs in amelioration of cisplatin-induced nephropathy via their ability to motivate functional and structural renal repair is evidenced.
