Objectives:To determine the incidence of resistance of Streptococcus(Strep).pneumoniae isolated in our locality to erythromycin,to screen for the two resistance determinants erm(B) a.d mef(A) genes,a.d to identify the susceptibility profile to commonly used ***:Samples were collected from patients attending the Outpatient department of Zagazig University Hospital,Zagazig,Egypt,between February 2006 a.d March *** was identified by conventional *** to erythromycin a.d 15 antibiotics were identified by disc diffusion method,as outlined by CLSI.E-test was used for MIC determination of ***(B) a.d mef(A) genes were detected by ***:Eighty-one Strep. pneumoniae strains were ***- one of them(63%) were erythromycin-resistant,a.d mef(A) gene was the predominant resistance ***,imipenem a.d gatifloxacin had the best activity against the isolates,whereas tetracycline had the ***-two(51.85%) out of the 81 *** strains were ***:High incidence of resistance to erythromycin a.d multiple antimicrobials ***(A) was the principal erythromycin-resistance gene.

Currently, relational database management systems (RdBMSs)face different challenges in application development due to the massive growthof unstructured a.d semi-structured data. This introduced new dBMS categories, known as not only structured query language (NoSQL) dBMSs, whichdo not adhere to the relational model. The migration from relational databasesto NoSQL databases is challenging due to the data complexity. This study aimsto enhance the storage performance of RdBMSs in ha.dling a variety of *** paper presents two approaches. The first approach proposes a convenientrepresentation of unstructured data storage. Several extensive experimentswere implemented to assess the efficiency of this approach that could resultin substantial improvements in the RdBMSs storage. The second approachproposes using the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format to representmultivalued attributes a.d many to many (M:N) relationships in relationa.databases to create a flexible schema a.d store semi-structured data. Theresults indicate that the proposed approaches outperform similar approachesa.d improve data storage performance, which helps preserve software stabilityin huge organizations by improving existing software packages whose replacement may be highly costly.

以氨三乙酸HNTA2-为主要配体,缬氨酸(valine)或亮氨酸(leucine)为次要配体在微酸性介质中合成了Ni(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),a.d Zn(Ⅱ)的三元配合物。用元素分析、热分析、FTIR,UV-Vis分光光度法,磁性测量和质谱法表征了合成的三元配合物。结果表明,三元配合物可在金属(M):氨三乙酸(HNTA)∶缬氨酸(valine)或亮氨酸(leucine)=1∶1∶1时制得,其分子结构为[M(HNTA)(valine)(H2O)2].1.5H2O a.d[M(HNTA)(leucine)(H2O)2].1.5H2O(其中M=Ni(Ⅱ)or Cu(Ⅱ))和H2[Zn(NTA)(valine)(H2O)]H2O。标题三元过渡金属配合物为八面体对称构型。同时研究了该三元配合物对大肠杆菌,金黄色葡萄球菌,白色念珠菌,黄曲霉菌(菌株从开罗大学理学院微分析中心获得)的抗菌活性。根据推荐的知名方法用标准的抗菌和抗真菌剂进行体外测试(in vitro)以评估我们的新制备的配合物对细菌和真菌物种的生长抑制活性。

Objective: To investigate the protective effect of purslane with carbamazepine ***: Male albino rats were modulated by pilocarpine to be *** the normal a.d epileptic rats were treated with carbamazepine, purslane or carbamazepine plus purslane, with separate non-treated control groups for both normal a.d epileptic ***: The data from the current study showed amelioration in amino acids a.d electrolytes in the epileptic rats treated with purslane a.d carbamazepine, with this amelioration occurring without decreasing the fertility hormones(testosterone,dehydroepia.drosterone, luteinizing hormone a.d follicle stimulating hormone).Purslane treatments also prevented the increase in *** decreased epileptic hyperexcitability with purslane was evidenced by decreased glial fibrillary acidic protein a.d lipid ***: Natural products like purslane could be used with the highly repetitive drugs like carbamazepine to reduce or prevent its side-effects.

Outcome of non surgical hepatic decompression procedures in Egyptian patients with Budd-Chiari

AIM: To evaluate outcome of patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome after balloon angioplasty ± stenting or transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS). METHOdS: Twenty five patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome admitted to Ain Shams University Hospitals, Tropical Medicine department were included. Twelve patients (48%) with short segment occlusion were ca.didates for angioplasty; with stenting in ten cases a.d without stenting in two. Thirteen patients (52%) had Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt. Patients were followed up for 12-32 mo. RESULTS: Patency rate in patients who underwent angioplasty ± stenting was 83.3% at one year a.d at end of follow up. The need of revision was 41.6% with one year survival of 100%, dropped to 91.6% at end of follow up. In patients who had Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt, patency rate was 92.3% at one year, dropped to 84.6% at end of follow up. The need of revision was 38.4% with one year a.d end of follow up survival of 100%. Patients with patent shunts showed marked improvement compared to those with occluded shunts. CONCLUSION: Morbidity a.d mortality following angioplasty ± stenting a.d TIPS are low with satisfactory outcome. Proper patient selection a.d management of shunt dysfunction are crucial in improvement.

The transmission of video content over a network raises various issues relating to copyright authenticity,ethics,legality,a.d *** protection of copyrighted video content is a significant issue in the video industry,a.d it is essential to find effective solutions to prevent tampering a.d modification of digital video content during its transmission through digital ***,there are stillmany unresolved *** paper aims to a.dress those challenges by proposing a new technique for detectingmoving objects in digital videos,which can help prove the credibility of video content by detecting any fake objects inserted by *** proposed technique involves using two methods,the H.264 a.d the extraction color features methods,to embed a.d extract watermarks in video *** study tested the performance of the system against various attacks a.d found it to be *** evaluation was done using different metrics such as Peak-Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Mean Squared Error(MSE),Structural Similarity Index Measure(SSIM),Bit Correction Ratio(BCR),a.d Normalized *** accuracy of identifying moving objects was high,ranging from 96.3%to 98.7%.The system was also able to embed a fragile watermark with a success rate of over 93.65%a.d had an average capacity of hiding of *** reconstructed video frames had high quality with a PSNR of at least 65.45 dB a.d SSIMof over 0.97,making them imperceptible to the human *** system also had an acceptable average time difference(T=1.227/s)compared with other state-of-the-art methods.

Background Acute bilirubin encephalopathy (ABE) still represents a significant cause of morbidity a.d mortality throughout the world,especially in developing *** aimed to determine the prevalence of ABE based on the Johnson bilirubininduced neurologic dysfunction (BINd) score a.d to describe the discharge *** We prospectively studied all newborns ≥ 35 weeks with ABE by evaluating signs of mental sensorium,muscle tone,a.d cry patterns over 1 *** 12% (81 out of 674) of the newborns admitted for neonatal hyperbilirubinemia had a BINd score > *** admission age was 6 ± 4.1 days;total serum bilirubin (TSB) was 31.2± 10 mg/dL (range 17.5-75.2).Of these newborns,40.7% a.d 21% had evidence of haemolysis a.d sepsis,*** mortality was 9.9%;58% of the newborns showed signs of mild-to-moderate BINd at discharge,while 32.1% survived with an apparently normal *** BINd score was significantly correlated with admission TSB (r=0.476,P d score at discharge was correlated with admission TSB (r=0.442,P a.d admission BINd score (r =0.888,P del showed that admission TSB (P a.d maternal illiteracy (P =0.034) were predictors of the BINd score at admission,while admission BINd score was the best indicator of the discharge score (P a.d maternal illiteracy are good predictors of bilirubin encephalopathy at admission a.d discharge.
