High Impact Polylactide Based on Organosilicon Nucleation Agent

Various sectors of the industry are searching for new materials with specific requirements,providing improved *** study presents novel composite materials based on polylactide that have been modified with the organosilicon compound,(3-thiopropyl)polysilsesquioxane(SSQ-SH).The SSQ-SH compound is a mixture of cage structures and not fully condensed random *** composite materials were obtained through injection *** study includes a comprehensive characterization of the new materials that analyze their functional properties,such as rheology(MFR),mechanical strength(tensile strength,charpy impact strength),and thermal *** microscopic photos were also taken to analyze the microstructure of the *** addition of a 5%by-weight organosilicon compound to polylactide resulted in a significant increase in MFR by 73.8%compared to the neat *** greatest improvement in impact strength was achieved for the 5%SSQ-SH/PLA composite,increasing it by 32.0 kJ/m^(2)compared to PLA,which represents an increase of up to 187%.The conducted research confirms the possibility of modifying the properties of the polymer by employing organosilicon compounds.

Hydraulic energy indices reveal spatial dependence in a subtropical soil under maize crop in Southern Brazil

Soil physical quality(SPQ)assessment is an important part in the evaluation of soil use,management,and *** can be assessed using several physical properties,hydraulic indices,and *** from tropical and temperate regions represent different physical behaviors,and the quantification of their physical properties is important to support soil evaluation and *** objective of this study was to evaluate the SPQ in a subtropical field under maize crop cultivation according to its physical properties,hydraulic indices,and functions in an attempt to infer the spatial variability and to determine the behavior of soil physical structure across a spatial *** used soil key physical variables,such as texture,bulk density,total porosity,saturated hydraulic conductivity,and organic carbon content,were measured in a regular grid with a soil sampling density of 30 points per hectare,covering an area of0.5 *** hydraulic conductivity varied strongly between subsamples and in the field,suggesting the heterogeneity of the soil structure regarding water *** physical variables were combined with other indicators,which were based on the soil water retention curve and the pore size distribution(PSD)*** analysis was performed to verify the relationship between the measured and calculated variables,and some strong linear correlations were revealed,such as between aeration energy index and microporosity(r=0.608)and water retention energy index with microporosity(r=0.532)and with bulk density(r=0.541).For most sampled locations,the shape and location parameters of PSD showed results outside of the optimum ranges,whereas the hydraulic energy indices and cumulative hydraulic energy functions presented values that were similar to those found for some tropical soils described in the *** spatial variability of these indices was described using semivariograms and kriged maps,indicating the variability of the SPQ i

citation classics in Patient Engagement Research: An Analysis of the 50 Most cited Articles

Background: Patient engagement offers a promising pathway toward improved population health, better-quality care, and greater cost efficiency. The objective of the current study is to identify and analyze the characteristics of the 50 most frequently cited articles in patient engagement journals. Methods: The ISI Journal citation Reports: Science Edition 2014 database was used to determine the most frequently cited published articles in Dec 2016. The most cited 50 articles were selected and assessed according to the published journal, origin of institutions, publication year, impact factor, topic, and type of study. Results: The 50 selected articles were published in 19 journals, the majority of which originated from the uk. The most common study design was quantitative study and reviews. The improvement of health care services quality and the construction of engagement model were the top two topics. And 2013 is the most published year receiving the most citations. conclusions: Our findings provide a historical perspective on the scientific progress of patient engagement and allow for recognition of important developments and limitations in this field.
