Since indoor clothing insulation is a key element in thermal comfort models,the aim of the present study is proposing an approach for predicting it,which could assist the occupants of a building in terms of recommendations regarding their *** that,a systematic analysis of input variables is exposed,and 13 regression and 12 classification machine learning algorithms were developed and *** results are based on data from 3352 questionnaires and 21 input variables from a field study in mixed-mode office buildings in *** temperature at 6 a.m.,indoor air temperature,indoor relative humidity,comfort temperature and gender were the most relevant features for predicting clothing *** comparing machine learning algorithms,decision tree-based algorithms with Boosting techniques achieved the best *** proposed model provides an efficient method for forecasting the clothing insulation level and its application would entail optimising thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

AIM： To investigate the effects of luminal exposure to H2O2 and two related thiol oxidizing agents on basal and stimulated chloride secretion in native colon using electrophysiological and pharmacological approaches. METHODS： Unstripped rat distal colon segments were mounted in Ussing chambers. Potential difference, calculated resistance and short-circuit current across unstripped colon segments were monitored with a dual voltage/current clamp. Paracellular permeability was assessed by measuring the mucosa-to-serosa flux of a fluorescent probe （FITC）. RESULTS： Luminal exposure to hydrogen peroxide transitorily stimulated chloride secretion without altering barrier function. This stimulatory effect could be blocked by basolateral atropine but not indomethacin. The cysteine and methionine oxidizing compounds, phenylarsine oxide and chloramine T respectively, mimicked the effect of H2O2, except for a drop in transcolonic resistance after 30 min. In contrast to the observed stimulatory effect on basal secretion, cAMP-stimulated electrogenic ion transport was blunted by luminal H2O2. However, the Ca^2＋- activated response remained unchanged. CONCLUSION： H2O2 may be an important selective modulator of intestinal ion and water secretion in certain pathologic conditions such as inflammation or ischemiareperfusion by multiple mechanisms.

From beginning of 90＇s, the Brazilian nuclear policy has been changed radically. This determined the interruption of most R＆D fuel cycle activities and the facilities shutdown at Nuclear and Energetic Research Institute （IPEN）. The existence of those facilities also implicated in the need of constant surveillance, representing additional obligations, costs and problems. The reasons to promote the dismantling of the IPEN＇s Nuclear Fuel Cycle Pilot Plants elapsed mainly from the need of physical space for new activities, since the R＆D in the nuclear fuel cycle area were interrupted. In the last decade, IPEN has changed its ＂nuclear profile＂ to a ＂comprehensive and multidisciplinary profile＂. With the end of most nuclear fuel cycle activities, the former facilities were distributed in four different centers. Each center has adopted a different strategy and priority to face the D＆D problem. The available resources depend on the specific program in each area＇s development （resources available from other sources, not only from Brazilian National Nuclear Energy Commission （CNEN）. One of those new activities is the IPEN＇s Environmental Program. This paper describes the procedures, problems faced and results related to the reintegration of the former pilot plant areas as new laboratories of the Chemical and Environmental Technology Center-CQMA of the IPEN.

Introduction: During the influenza A (H1N1) pandemic infection, the Ministry of Health in Mexico recommended that it be considered as a suggestive clinical picture in patients with fever, cough and headache. In some places where the resource was available, the rapid seasonal influenza (A-B) test was used as an alternative identification strategy. Methods: From April 2009 to May 2010, patients under 18 years of age with acute respiratory tract symptoms were included in a retrospective study. They underwent the following procedures: 1) application of the clinical criteria recommended by the federal Ministry of Health during the A (H1N1) pandemic;2) rapid test for seasonal influenza (A-B), and 3) search for the influenza A (H1N1) virus by means of the real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The study was approved by the research and ethics committee at the Central South Hospital of the government-owned Mexican Petroleum Company (PEMEX). Results: One hundred and thirty pediatric patients with a median age of eight years and a range between one and 17 years were included. Taking into account the Ministry of Health’s criteria, we found the following: 50% sensitivity, 69% specificity, 80% positive predictive value and 27% negative predictive value versus the rapid test that displayed 82% sensitivity, 70% specificity, 80% positive predictive value and 27% negative predictive value. Conclusions: Clinical criteria display low sensitivity in the infected children studied, whereas the rapid influenza A-B test constitutes a better option to identify these patients.

Background: Patients with cancer constitute a special group where immunization programs are often interrupted to begin treatment with chemotherapy. Sepsis is one of the main complications in this group. Methods: A hospital-based case-control study matched by age was carried out among subjects ≤ 9 years of age with cancer diagnosis. Children with cancer without sepsis and children with surgical pathology were included as controls;children with sepsis were included as cases. A bivariate logistic regression was used to determine the factors associated to nosocomial sepsis, and odds ratios were calculated with 95% confidence intervals. The percentage of attributable risk was calculated for the variables included in the final model. Results: Nineteen children with cancer and sepsis and 83 controls were included. Twelve (44%) caseshad an incomplete vaccination schedule according to their age. The association force between incomplete schedule and sepsis was 10.1 (95% CI, 3 - 36;p develops.

Background: IgG4-related disease is a systemic lymphoproliferative syndrome that shows IgG4-producing plasma cell expansion in affected organs with fibrotic or sclerotic changes. The lacrimal glands, salivary glands and pancreas are typically affected. We report a case of IgG4-related disease presenting a soft tissue tumor affecting skeletal muscle. Case Report: A 32-year-old man presented a soft tissue mass in his left arm. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a spindle like, peripheral mass, in the lateral head of the triceps of his left arm. Tru-Cut Biopsy provided the diagnosis of IgG4-related disease affecting skeletal muscle. Glucocorticoid treatment was effective. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of IgG4-related disease affecting skeletal muscle and presenting a soft tissue mass.

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is a prothrombotic condition that can affect both the venous circulation and the arterial system. The deep veins of the lower extremities and cerebral blood flow are the most common sites of venous and arterial thrombosis, respectively. Skin ulceration and gangrene may be associated with an active vasculitis in patients with APS. These kinds of ulcers are considered intractable because healing is difficult to achieve. Using steroids as immunesuppressant therapy is still a basic part of managing APS and vasculitis. Nevertheless, in the presence of steroid-induced diabetes mellitus, the priority is to achieve faster wound healing, because of the potential complications that can develop due to metabolic dysfunction and augmented vulnerability to infection. Until recently, there were few reports demonstrating the benefits of the use of adjuvant phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors like sildenafil citrate in different clinical entities with courses like Raynaud’s phenomenon, scleroderma, and resistance to vasodilator therapy. We present the first report demonstrating the additional benefit of sildenafil citrate for the integration of grafts in a patient with steroid-induced diabetes and APS who had ulcers due to vasculitis resistant to the usual vasodilator therapy.

Introduction: Mild and moderate Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) against Rotavirus has not received much attention when the vaccine is administered regardless of recommended age restriction. Objectives: To describe the behavior of mild and moderate AEFI in immunized subjects against Rotavirus, in who age restriction period had not been considered. Methods: A case-control study in which we included immunized patients with monovalent oral vaccine against rotavirus and divided them into two groups: 1) Infants who received RV1 vaccine without considering the recommended period, and 2) Infants who were vaccinated with the recommended schedule. Results: From the total doses, 143/1894 (7.5%) were administered outside the restriction period. The most frequent AEFIs with the first dose were purpura, polypnea, and rhinorrhea;For the second dose: purpura, bloody stools, irritability and rhinorrhea. Conclusions: This study shows the benefits from vaccination regardless of age restriction are more beneficial compared to the possible risks of AEFI.
