In the present work, the collinear equilibrium points of the restricted three-body problem are studied under the effect of oblateness of the bigger primary using an analytical and numerical approach. The periodic orbits around these points are investigated for the Earth-Moon system. The Lissajous orbits and the phase spaces are obtained under the effect of oblateness.

Lactic acidosis is a rare complication of malignancies and is seen more frequently in high grade lymphoma and leukemia. Although, its pathogenesis is not well understood, it remains a surrogate of poor prognosis. Herein, we present a case of Burkitt-like lymphoma presenting with metabolic abnormalities including lactic acidosis and hypoglycemia along with atrial tachycardia. We will discuss the different mechanisms involved in these metabolic disturbances and we will provide insight on novel therapeutic strategies based on our understanding of the underlying pathophysiology.

Cystitis glandularis or glandular metaplasia of the urinary bladder, is a benignreactive metaplasia of the urothelium, which occurs in the context of chronic irritation, in less than 2% of the general population. It is a condition in most casesasymptomatic, but also characterized by nonspecific symptoms and paraclinical findings, which is why this condition is underdiagnosed. Its evolution is mainly focused on the risk of malignant degeneration. This condition affects men much more commonly than women. Two forms of cystitis glandularis are recognized: typical and intestinal form. They differ in their histology, incidence, difficulty of diagnosis, and possible association with adenocarcinoma of the bladder. Diagnosis of certainty is histological by careful analysis of chips from bladder endoscopic resection. This rare pathology is managed by endoscopic bladder resection, with repeated cystoscopy as a monitoring tool. Extensive surgical is needed in severe or recurrent cases. We present here-in a case of a female patient having cystitis glandularis presenting with lower urinary tract symptoms. We review equally data reported in literature. To the best of our knowledge our case represents the fourth case of cystitis glandularis affecting a female patient reported in the English literature so far.

PAHs in Sediments along the Semi-Closed Areas of Alexandria, Egypt

Sediment samples were collected from 49 sampling stations along the semi-closed areas of Alexandria coasts, Egypt. Total concentrations of 15 out of 16 EPA-PAHs in sediments were varied from 4.2 to 886 ng.g–1 with an average value of 176 ng.g–1 (dry wt). The average total organic carbon (TOC) percent was varied from 0.04 to 7.65%. Higher concentration of total pyrolytic hydrocarbons (∑COMB) than total fossil hydrocarbons (∑COMB), declared that atmospheric fall-out is the significant source of PAHs to marine sediments of the semi-closed area of Alexandria. The selected marked compounds and special PAHs compound ratios (phenanthrene/anthracene;fluoranthene/pyrene;∑COMB/ ∑EPA-PAHs) suggest the pyrogenic origins, especially traffic exhausts, are the dominant sources of PAHs in most locations. Interferences of rather petrogenic and pyrolytic PAH contaminations were noticed in the harbours, especially marine area due to petroleum products deliveries and fuel combustion emissions from the ships staying alongside the quays.

AIM:To assess the long-term clinical benefit of sustained virological response(SVR)in patients with hepatitis C virus(HCV)cirrhosis treated by antiviral therapy using mostly ribavirin plus interferon either standard or ***:One hundred and thirteen patients with uncomplicated HCV biopsy-proven cirrhosis,treated by at least one course of antiviral treatment ≥ 3 mo and followed ≥ 30 mo were *** occurrence of clinical events hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),decompensation and death was compared in SVR and non SVR ***:Seventy eight patients received bitherapy and 63 had repeat *** was achieved in 37 patients(33%).During a mean follow-up of 7.7 years,clinical events occurred more frequently in non SVR than in SVR patients,with a significant difference for HCC(24/76 vs 1/37,P = 0.01).No SVR patient died while 20/76 non-SVR did(P = 0.002),mainly in relation to HCC(45%).CONCLUSION:In patients with HCV-related cirrhosis,SVR is associated with a significant decrease in the incidence of HCC and mortality during a follow-up period of 7.7 *** result is a strong argument to perform and repeat antiviral treatments in patients with compensated cirrhosis.

In Sidi Chennane deposits (Morocco), the phosphatic series is composed of regular interbedded phosphatic and marly limestone layers. Exploitation of the phosphate in these deposits collides frequently with problems bound to the existence, in this series, of sterile bodies qualified as derangements. They cause two kinds of problems: 1) as they are hard, compact and masked by a Quaternary cover, they disturb the exploitation in some yards and give bad reserve calculation;2) even the use of wells and mechanical boreholes did not evidence their delimitation. Our study shows that these bodies can be detected and delimited using ground penetrating radar and electrical resistivity tomography methods. It is based on the acquisition and the interpretation of series tests using these methods carried out above visible sterile bodies in a trench of exploitation in order to have geologically valid information. The article concerns to the analysis of the results and of the proceeding for a possible large geophysics survey.

The present work is devoted to the study of antiradical and antimicrobial activities of phenolic compounds extracted from different grapevine varieties grown in the Bekaa plane-Lebanon. The amount of phenolic compounds in selected grape extracts was determined by the Folin-Ciocalteau method. Phenolic composition was specified by high performance liquid chromatography. Free radical scavenging activity was examined by using the (2,2’-diphenyl-1-picrylhy-drazyl) DPPH assay. The potential antimicrobial activity was studied using a new quantitative method developed during this work. This activity was tested against several microbial pathogens, including a Gram-positive strain (Listeria monocytogenes), two Gram-negative strains (Escherichia coli and Salmonella arizonae) and a fungal strain (Candida albicans). According to the results of the present screening study, a great variability in the composition of phenolic com-pounds in red grape extracts was detected. All phenolic compounds extracts, demonstrated important scavenging properties and antimicrobial effect against bacterial and fungal strains. Yet, a different response degree was noticed depending on the tested microorganism and the phenolic composition of grape extracts. Antimicrobial activity was more effective against Gram-positive than Gram-negative and yeast strains. Furthermore, our results highlighted a significant role of synergistic effect between various phenolic compounds in the free radical scavenging and antimicrobial activities.

A simple, sensitive, and specific method was developed for simultaneous determination of Amlodipine besylate (AML), Valsartan (Vals) and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) by high performance liquid chromatography without previous separation. Satisfactory resolution was achieved using a RP-C18 chromatographic column, Phenomenex Kinetex (150 mm × 4.6 mm i.d) and a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile-phosphate buffer (0.05 M) with pH 2.8 in the proportion of (40/60, v/v) at a flow rate 0.8 mL/min and the wavelength detection was 227 nm. The retention time for HCT, AML and VAls was 2.26, 3.16 and 11.19 min;respectively. The described method was linear over a range of 4-28 μg /ml, 5-40 μg /ml and 1-12 μg /ml for AML, Vals and HCT;respectively. The mean percent recoveries were 99.94%, 99.96% and 99.78% for AML, Vals and HCT;respectively. F-test and t-test at 95%con?dence level were used to check the intermediate precision data obtained under different experimental setups. The method could be used for analysis of combined dose tablet formulation containing AML, Vals, HCT as well as spiked human plasma.

三氯乙烯(TCE)是常见的地下水污染物,通常对需氧生物降解具有抵制作用,在另一种化合物(如甲苯)的存在下,可以与之发生共同新陈代谢。利用实验室土柱对 TCE 和甲苯的耦合迁移和生物降解作用进行研究和建模。根据 Monod 动力学原理,建立甲苯的生物降解与微生物生长的关系;根据 Michaelis-Menten 动力学原理,描述TCE 的生物降解,并予以修正,以解释酶水平的变化。TCE 的生物降解模拟为甲苯降解速率的质量分数。生长和衰变都引入方程以模拟微生物群动力学过程。除初始生物量外,从独立的土壤分批实验获取描述两种降解函数的一套参数。物理参数从无微生物的土柱中得到。从柱室的入口到出口,初始生物量减少。甲苯在土柱中完全降解,大部分降解发生在最接近柱室的入口处。由于 TCE 比甲苯扩散快,变化速率慢,大量的 TCE 没有降解。
