The rare meta.s of Abu Dabbab area in the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt have been investigated for their mineralogy and conditions of precipita.ion using combination of EMPA and fluid inclusions studies,in order to delineate the source,mechanism of formation and evolutionary model for these economic ***(ta.Nb-Sn)-bearing minerals at the Abu Dabbab area include columbite group minerals(CGMs),wodginite and *** both granitic intrusion and its enclosed quartz veins,most of zoned CGMs and cassiterite grains are commonly characterized by a well-developed twosta.e ***,columbite-(Mn)(CGM-Ⅰ)represents the early formed phase of CGMs that is characterized by high Mn#values(0.64-0.92)with quite low ta.values(0.13-0.49).It was invaded by ta.rich phases including ta.ta.ite-(Mn)(CGM-Ⅱ;ta.=0.13-0.49)and wodginite,which conta.n high ta.(2)O_(5)and SnO_(2)(17.91 wt.%).In regard to cassiterite,there are distinct compositional differences between the early-phase cassiterite(Cst-Ⅰ)and the late-phase one(Cst-Ⅱ),where the latter is enriched in ta.(2)O_(5),Nb_(2)O_(5)and *** chemistry and textural criteria of the early sta.e CGM-Ⅰand Cst-Ⅰ,all are indicative of magmatic ***,the latter CGM-Ⅱ,wodginite and Cst-Ⅱwere influenced by the late magmatic ta.rich *** inclusions microthermometry shows criteria of phase separation represented by both boiling and fluid *** initial fluid was supposed to be of magmatic origin(magmatic CH4),that was consequently influenced by fluid mixing/dilution with post-hydrothermal/meteoric water with respect to the decompression process during *** construction gave rise to an estimate P-T conditions(T=330-370℃,P=22-50 MPa).The fluid inclusions’microthermometry supports a transition between magmatic and late to post-hydrothermal activities in addition to surface-derived fluid(meteoric fluid?)in a part as main source for the polymeta.lic deposits.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is the most common type of dementia,but it is very difficult to diagnose with certa.nty,so many AD studies have attempted to find early and relevant diagnostic *** upon activation,normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTES,also known as C-C chemokine ligand)is a chemokine involved in the migration of T cells and other lymphoid *** in RANTES levels and its expression in blood or in cerebrospinal fluid have been reported in some neurodegenerative diseases,such as Pa.k.nson’s disease and multiple sclerosis,but also in meta.olic diseases in which inflammation plays a *** aim of this observational study was to assess RANTES levels in peripheral blood as clinical indicators of *** levels of RANTES were investigated in 85 AD patients in a relatively early phase of AD(median 8.5 months after diagnosis;39 men and 46 women;average age 75.7 years),and in 78 control subjects(24 men and 54 women;average age 66 years).We found much higher plasma levels of RANTES in AD patients compared to controls.A negative correlation of RANTES levels with age,disease duration,Fazekas scale score,and the medial temporal lobe atrophy(Mta.score(Scheltens’s scale)was found in AD patients,i.e.,the higher levels corresponded to earlier sta.es of the *** RANTES levels were not correlated with cognitive *** AD patients,RANTES levels were positively correlated with the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α,which is consistent with the wellknown fact that AD is associated with inflammatory *** levels were also positively correlated with insulin levels in AD patients,with insulin resista.ce(HOMA-R)and pancreatic beta.cell function(HOMA-F).This study evaluated several clinical and meta.olic factors that may affect plasma levels of RANTES,but these factors could not explain the increases in RANTES levels observed in AD *** levels of RANTES appear to be an interesting

The present work deals with the mineralogy,geochemical behavior and uranium potentiality of the monzogranites of el Maghrbia area,which comprise *** Maghrbia and *** Eredyia and situated in the central Eastern Desert of ***-Erediya monzogranites represents a promising area for uranium *** granites have shear zone filled with red and bla.k.silica veins conta.ning many radioactive anomalies with visible yellow secondary uranium *** shear zone is highly affected by different degrees of alterations such as silicification,kaolinitization,sassuritization and *** of el-Erediya area possess higher values of their radioactivity than in el Maghrbia monzogranites in which eU and eTh,reaches up to 792.3 and 66.81 ppm,whilst average content of eU and eTh in el Maghrabia granites are 3.86 and 8.55 ppm,respectively owing to the presence of radioactive minerals such as uraninite,uranothorite,uranophane,kasolite,beta.ite,zircon and *** geochemical analyses indicated that,the studied monzogranites are distinctly anomalous in U,where the average U is more than 620-fold the Upper Continenta. Crust(UCC),ma.k.d enrichment(> tenfold) of the elements Cd,Mo,Pb,Bi,Nb and *** Th/U ratio decreases from 2.8,as a chondritic value,to 0.0023 for the studied granites,proposing extreme fractionation towards an extensive secondary migration-in of *** Zr and Hf are depleted in the studied granites relative to the UCC,whereas Nb and ta.are strongly *** content of Y is about sixfold enriched which reflects relative enhancement of the HREE during the alteration *** correlates with Fe_(2)O_(3),suggesting a possible association between uranium and ***,the occurrences of uranium are epigenetic by remobilization from the host rock to the sheared zones,probably through meta.omatic process where U-Fe-Mg replaced the feldspars in an oxidized *** high levels of radioactivity in the rocks

The Wadi Sikait area lies at about 95 km southwest of Marsa Alam City along the Red Sea Coast, Eastern Desert, Egypt. It is occupied by Precambrian rocks of ophiolitic mélange, meta.orphosed sandstones (MSS), gab-bros and monzogranites which were later intruded by lamprophyre dykes and quartz veins. The lamprophyre dykes were extruded in NW-SE and NE-SW trends cutting monzogranites and meta.or-phosed sandstones. The lamprophyres are porphyritic and composed of clinopyroxene, olivine and amphibole phenocrysts enclosed in a fine-grained groundmass of clinopyroxene, amphibole, opaque and lithium mica. The al-teration products are represented by amphibole (tremolite-actinolite and hornblende), carbonate, epidote, chlorite, iddingsite, clay minerals, limonite and serpentine. The Sikait lamprophyre dykes can be classified as a.k.line lamprophyres characterized by silica contents rang-ing from 41.65 wt% to 50.88 wt% and Na2O>k2O. They are enriched in LILE, LREE and HFSE, but strongly de-pleted in compatible elements such as Cr and Ni relative to the primitive mantle. Sikait lamprophyres have moderate Zr/Hf (35.6-52.8) and Nb/ta.(20.5-22.5) ratios. Most of these features are attributed to the origin of these dykes from the meta.omatized mantle affected by subduction-related fluid. These lamprophyres are compositionally similar to Salu lamprophyres in eastern China. The Sikait lamprophyre samples have high LREE (320×10-6-419×10-6) relative to HREE (20×10-6-33×10-6) with ratios (LREE/HREE=11.6-18.7) and no negative Eu anomaly (Eu/Eu*=0.9-1.04). The relative presence of posi-tive Ce anomaly (Ce/Ce*=1.04) in lamprophyre samples suggests the oxidizing condition under which the REEs were precipita.ed due to the common occurrence of fluorite and apatite.

In low income countries, severe acute malnutrition remains a major problem for HIV-infected children and an importa.t risk factor for morta.ity. This study aims to analyze HIV impact on morta.ity rate and nutritional recovery among severely malnourished HIV/AIDS uninfected and infected children. This was a retrospective cohort study conducted from data.of 521 hospita.ized severely malnourished children. We used Pearson’s Chi square test to compare proportions;and Student’s independent t-test to compare means;general linear model to analyze repeated measurements. We used morta.ity relative risk with confidence interval (CI 95%), kaplan-Meir survival curves and Cox proportional hazard models to analyze the HIV impact on morta.ity rate. Case fata.ity rate differed significantly from SAM HIV uninfected (10.7%) and HIV infected children (39.7%), p ta.ity relative risk was 3.71, 95% IC [2.51 - 5.47] for HIV infected children. kaplan-Meir survival curves differed significantly between the two groups, (p Log Ra.k.ta.ity relative risk of HIV infected children was 4.27, CI: 2.55 - 7.15, p ta.ity relative risk was 3.71 times higher for HIV infected children. Multiples infections and meta.olic complications have synergism on death occurrence in sever acute malnutrition;when associated to HIV infection, case fata.ity rate increases many times. Weight gain and anthropometrics index evolution were very slow for SAM HIV infected children, and specific diet may be needed for more nutritional recovery. Micronutrient deficiencies, in HIV/AIDS infected children, are common and associated with disease progression and increased morta.ity. There is no evidence to support specific recommendation for in-patient treatment of severely malnourished HIV/AID infected children. We analyzed the impact of daily oral multivita.in and mineral supplementa.ion on nutritional sta.us and on morta.ity rate, of severely malnourished HIV/AIDS infected infants, hospita.ized in a feeding therapeutic center. Children were randomized at admission in one of the two treatment groups: WHO sta.dard group or additional dose group. The trial has been approved by the national health research ethics committee. Case fata.ity rate was high in each group. There was no difference in morta.ity rate between WHO sta.dard group (morta.ity rate = 16.9%) and “additional dose” group (morta.ity rate = 17.6%). kaplan Meir survival curves did not differ between the two groups, (p Log Ra.k.= 0.87). During the inpatient follow-up, the median weight gain (g/kg/d) was low in groups and did not differ between WHO sta.dard group (8.88g/kg/d Min = 4.70, Max = 17.23) and “additional dose” group (10.50g/kg/d, Min = 3.29 Max = 17.81) (Wilcoxon test p-value = 0.10). From admission to discharge, anthropometric Z-scores means evolution did not differ between the two groups: WHZ (p = 0.74), WAZ (p = 0.79) and MUAC (p = 0.73). In this randomized trial among severely malnourished HIV/AIDS infected children, we found no evidence that the provision of daily additional micro-nutrient dose during inpatient treatment, compared to WHO sta.dard, improves nutritional sta.us or reduces case fata.ity rate. Rigorous malnutrition inpatient treatments, including effective HIV/AIDS management, improve nutritional sta.us of severely mal-nourished HIV infected children.
