Prey species may have their own optimal escape strategy to balance predation risks and the energetic cost of *** species have an advantage when maintaining a short fleeing distance,while others may favour an earlier escape based on microhabitat,size,or body ***,we examined the escape behaviour of the three syntopic Northeast Asian anuran species:Mongolian toads(Strauchbufo raddei),Amur brown frogs(Rana amurensis),and Japanese treefrogs(Dryophytes japonicus)in Mongolia,Russia,China and DPR *** examined flight initiation distance(FID;the distance from a potential predator to the point when the individual starts to flee)and distance fled(DF;distance between flight initiation and flight termination points)of each species and the effects of microhabitat,sex,and body *** raddei and *** had a longer FID than ***,and *** also had a longer DF than *** trends remained similar when dividing FID and DF by a size proxy(snout-vent length)for all *** suggests that the treefrog *** used a strategy to stay immobile even when they were detected,and the toad *** reacted quicker and more sensitively to predators despite the presence of *** *** had a significantly longer FID than males suggesting that females are more sensitive to predation risk in this species,but body size was not significant for any of the three *** results indicate that the three sympatric species have different escaping strategies,likely related to differences in physiology and crypticity.

Adapted european seabass(Dicentrarchus labrax l.)larvae at 25 days post-hatching(dph)with a primary weight and length of 23 mg and 9.92 mm,start the weaning up to 46 dph using the weaning micro-diet(54%crude protein from fish meal,powder milk,and poultry egg)concurrently with Artemia enriched with fortification emulsions(0.6 g/l)of DHA selco®as a control group(DHAS)or Fish oil+20%Vitamin C(FOVC),or Fish oil+20%Vitamin e(FOVe),or Fish oil+10%Vit.C+10%Vit.e(FOCe),or Fish oil only(FO).At 46 dph,groups of larvae fed enriched Artemia with DHAS and FOVe exhibited the highest final body weight,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the lowest feed conversion ***,larvae in FOVC displayed the lowest final body weight,total length,weight gain,average daily gain,specific growth rate,feed intake,protein efficiency ratio,and survival%as well as the highest feed conversion *** histological assessment exhibited no pathological alteration as well as an improvement in the structure with DHAS,FOVe,FOVC,and FOCe co-additives compared to *** peroxidase enzyme(GPx)recorded the highest rates(Ped Artemia supplemented with DHAS and FOVe followed by FOCe and *** the lowest record for GPx activity was noted in the FO *** conclusion,Using augmented Artemia nauplii with fish oil+vitamin e in single or in companion with vitamin C as cheap antioxidants support *** larval growth,survival,and antioxidant efficacy during the critical weaning period.

Performance of evolutionary optimized machine learning for modeling total organic carbon in core samples of shale gas fields

Rock samples' TOC content is the best indicator of the organic matter in source rocks. The origin rock samples' analysis is used to calculate it manually by specialists. This method requires time and resources because it relies on samples from many well intervals in source rocks. Therefore, research has been done to aid this effort. Machine learning algorithms can estimate total organic carbon instead of well logs and stratigraphic studies. In light of these efforts, the current work present a study on automating the total organic carbon estimation using machine learning approaches improved by an evolutionary methodology to give the model flexibility and precision. Genetic algorithms, differential evolution, particle swarm optimization, grey wolf optimization, artificial bee colony, and evolution strategies were used to improve machine learning models to predict TOC. The six metaheuristics were integrated into four machine learning methods: extreme learning machine, elastic net linear model, linear support vector regression, and multivariate adaptive regression splines. Core samples from the YuDong-Nan shale gas field, located in the Sichuan basin, were used to evaluate the hybrid strategy. The findings show that combining machine learning models with an evolutionary algorithms in a hybrid fashion produce flexible models that accurately predict TOC. The results show that, independent of the metaheuristic used to guide the model selection, optimized extreme learning machines attained the best performance scores according to six metrics. Such hybrid models can be used in exploratory geological research,particularly for unconventional oil and gas resources.

Haptic is the modality that complements traditional multimedia,i.e.,audiovisual,to evolve the next wave of innovation at which the Internet data stream can be exchanged to enable remote skills and control *** will require ultra-low latency and ultra-high reliability to evolve the mobile experience into the era of Digital Twin and Tactile *** the 5th generation of mobile networks is not yet widely deployed,long-Term evolution(lTe-A)latency remains much higher than the 1 ms requirement for the Tactile Internet and therefore the Digital *** work investigates an interesting solution based on the incorporation of Software-defined networking(SDN)and Multi-access Mobile edge Computing(MeC)technologies in an lTe-A network,to deliver future multimedia applications over the Tactile Internet while overcoming the QoS *** network scenarios were designed and simulated using Riverbed modeler and the performance was evaluated using several time-related Key Performance Indicators(KPIs)such as throughput,end-2-end(e2e)delay,and *** best scenario possible is clearly the one integrating MeC and SDN approaches,where the overall delay,jitter,and throughput for haptics-attained 2 ms,0.01 ms,and 1000 packets per *** results obtained give clear evidence that the integration of,both SDN and MeC,in lTe-A indicates performance improvement,and fulfills the standard requirements in terms of the above KPIs,for realizing a Digital Twin/Tactile Internet-based system.

Prey animals are often faced with uncertainty due to having imperfect information regarding current local conditions,including predation risks and the availability of reliable foraging opportunities(Dall 2010).As this uncertainty increases,the probability of making costly behavioral errors also increases,leading to more risk averse behavioral tactics(Feyten et al.2019).For example,Trinidadian guppies Poecilia reticulata are far more risk averse when faced with multiple unknown sources of risk assessment information than when faced with a mix of known and unknown cues(Feyten et al.2019).Prey can reduce uncertainty by gathering and integrating private and social information regarding current risk levels within microhabitats(Dall 2010;Munoz and Blumstein 2012).

An environmentally friendly method using real or artificial bovine milk permeate to both depilate and preserve sheepskins has been reported which completely and cleanly removed the wool from the hair follicle and had no detrimental effects on the skin.A proteomic analysis,assessing the relative abundance of proteins in matched permeate-depilated and chemically depilated(sulfide)sheepskins,showed variations in the levels of specific collagen types in the skin's basement membrane and other proteins associated with the *** findings were corroborated by biochemical analyses of matched permeate depilated and raw skin samples,and provide clues to the mechanism of non-invasiveand complete *** also support the observation that permeate-depilated skins were smoother than their sulfide-depilated counterparts and resulted in leather with a superior surface.

The use of biochar can have several effects on plant germination,depending on raw material,preparation method and application ***,the molecular mechanisms that lead to those results have yet to be *** aim of this research was to improve the understanding of these mechanisms by characterizing the metabolic effects of sugarcane bagasse biochar on soybean *** types of biochars were prepared by pyrolysis at 300℃(SCB300),400℃(SCB400)and 600℃(SCB600).Then,each one was mixed into sand at 1%,3%,5%(w/w)dose,*** experiment was performed in 8 days of incubation,when the number of germinated seeds and the average radicle length were *** evaluate the metabolome,the dry biomass(DB)was subjected to extraction with a mixture of methanol-d4 and D2O(1:1 v/v).The extracts were submitted to metabolomics analysis by Proton Nuclear Magnetic *** Relative Germination,Relative Average Radicle Growth and Germination Index increased in all treatments compared to *** the other hand,the DB increased in all treatments,except for SCB300,at doses of 1%and 3%w/*** metabolites(alanine,asparagine,acetic acid,citric acid,glycerol,fatty acids and sucrose)were identified and quantified in DB extracts as the most influential finding for the separation of *** together,these results strongly suggested that biochars accelerated the catabolism of triacylglycerols to sucrose and induced a slight osmotic stress.
