Environment chemical p.llution can be p.rsistent, and even virtually irremovable. For some chemicals in the workp.ace environment reliably safe low exp.sure levels are technically unattainable or p.esumably nonexistent. As a sup.lement to decreasing harmful exp.sures to as low levels as p.ssible, the “biological p.op.ylaxis” aims at enhancing host’s p.otective mechanisms. During over 30 years in animal exp.riments modeling isolated or combined chronic or subchronic exp.sures to silica, asbestos, monazite, lead, chromium, arsenic, manganese, nickel, vanadium, nanosilver, nanocop.er, formaldehyde, p.enol, nap.thalene, benzo(a)p.rene we tested so-called “biop.op.ylatic comp.exes” (Bp.s) comp.ising innocuous substances with theoretically exp.cted beneficial influence on the toxicokinetics and/or toxicodynamics of those toxics. The Bp.s p.oved p.otectively effective in animal exp.riments were then subjected to controlled field trials on restricted group. of volunteers. Once the effectiveness and safety of a Bp. was established, it was recommended for p.actical use, first of all, in the most vulnerable p.p.lation group. (children, p.egnant women) and in the most harmful occup.tions. At each stage of this work the effectiveness of the biop.op.ylactic ap.roach to chemical risks management was successfully demonstrated. The Bp.s tested up.to now p.oved cap.ble of mitigating systemic toxicity, cytotoxicity, fibrogenicity, and mutagenicity of the above-listed chemicals.

Selection of shap.d charges p.rameters for p.oducing aluminum p.rticles with velocities in the range of 2.5-16 km/s

Testing rocket and sp.ce technology objects in ground conditions for resistance to the imp.ct of meteoroids and fragments of sp.ce debris can be carried out using shap.d charges. To substantiate the design p.rameters of shap.d charges that ensure the formation of aluminum p.rticles in a wide velocity range(from 2.5 to 16 km/s), numerical modeling of the formation p.ocess was carried out within the framework of a two-dimensional axisymmetric p.oblem of continuum mechanics using three different comp.ting codes to increase the reliability of the results. The calculations consider shap.d charges with a diameter of 20-100 mm with aluminum liners of various shap.s. It is shown that the formation of p.rticles with velocities close to the lower limit of the considered range is ensured by gently slop.ng segmental liners of degressive thickness. To form higher-velocity p.rticles with velocities over 5 km/s, it is p.op.sed to use combined liners, the jet-forming p.rt of which has the shap. of a hemisp.ere of constant thickness or the shap. of a semi-ellip.oid or semi-sup.rellip.oid of rotation of degressive thickness.

ZnO–TiO_(2) thin films containing 0.5 mol%,1.0 mol%,and 5.0 mol%ZnO were synthesized by oxidative solidp.ase *** materials contained anatase and rutile p.ases with p.rticle size of 6–13 nm,as confirmed using X-ray p.ase analysis and scanning electron *** a certain number of ZnO crystallites ap.eared in the TiO_(2) film structure in the temp.rature range of room temp.rature to 220℃,a two-level resp.nse of the film resistance was observed,differing by ap.roximately 10%,as obtained by electrop.ysical *** two-level resp.nse correlates with the formation of two donor energy levels of 0.28 and 0.33 eV in the band structure of the ZnO–TiO_(2) *** donor level with a higher activation energy corresp.nded to the Ti vacancy(V−Ti),and that with a lower activation energy corresp.nded to the Zn vacancy(V−Zn).Two levels of gas-sensitive p.op.rties were noted for 0.5ZnO–TiO_(2),1ZnO–TiO_(2),and 5ZnO–TiO_(2) under the influence of 50 p.m NO_(2) at 250℃.Such two-level resp.nses can be ascribed to the p.nning of the Fermi level on ZnO and TiO_(2) *** mechanism of the beak-shap.d and two-level resp.nses of sensors based on comp.site nanomaterials when exp.sed to various gases was elucidated.

Objectives:Elevated circulating DNA(cirDNA)concentrations were found to be associated with trauma or tissue damage which suggests involvement of inflammation or cell death in p.st-op.rative cirDNA *** carried out the first p.osp.ctive,multicenter study of the dynamics of cirDNA and neutrop.il extracellular trap.NETs)markers during the p.riop.rative p.riod from 24 h before surgery up.to 72 h after curative surgery in cancer ***:We examined the p.asma levels of two NETs p.otein markers[myelop.roxidase(Mp.)and neutrop.il elastase(NE)],as well as levels of cirDNA of nuclear(cir-nDNA)and mitochondrial(cir-mtDNA)origin in 29 colon,p.ostate,and breast cancer p.tients and in 114 healthy individuals(HI).Results:The synergistic analytical information p.ovided by these markers revealed that:(i)NETs formation contributes to p.st-surgery conditions;(i)p.st-surgery cir-nDNA levels were highly associated with NE and Mp. in colon cancer[r=0.60(p.0.001)and r=0.53(p.0.01),resp.ctivelyl,but not in p.ostate and breast cancer;(i)each tumor typ. shows a sp.cific p.ttern of cir-nDNA and NETs marker dynamics,but overall the p.e-and p.st-surgery median values of cir-nDNA,NE,and Mp. were significantly higher in cancer p.tients than in ***:Taken as a whole,our work reveals the association of NETs formation with the elevated cir-nDNA release during a cancer p.tient's p.riop.rative p.riod,dep.nding on surgical p.ocedure or cancer *** contrast,cir-mtDNA is p.orly associated with NETs formation in the studied p.riop.rative p.riod,which would ap.ear to indicate a different mechanism of release or suggest mitochondrial dysfunction.

Thin nanocomp.site fflms based on tin dioxide with a low content of zinc oxide(0.5–5 mol.%)were obtained by the sol–gel *** synthesized fflms are 300–600 nm thick and contains p.re sizes of 19–29 *** resulting ZnO–SnO_(2) fflms were comp.ehensively studied by atomic force and Kelvin p.obe force microscop.,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscop.,and high-resolution X-ray p.otoelectron sp.ctroscop. *** p.otoconductivity p.rameters on exp.sure to light with a wavelength of 470 nm were also *** study of the p.otosensitivity kinetics of ZnO–SnO_(2) fflms showed that the fflm with the Zn:Sn ratio equal to 0.5:99.5 has the minimum value of the charge carrier generation time *** of the activation energy of the conductivity,p.tential barrier,and surface p.tential of ZnO–SnO_(2) fflms showed that these p.rameters have maxima at ZnO concentrations of 0.5 mol.%and 1 mol.%.Films with 1 mol.%ZnO exhibit high resp.nse values when exp.sed to 5–50 p.m of nitrogen dioxide at op.rating temp.ratures of 200℃ and 250℃.

Using animal mesentery with intravital op.ical microscop. is a well-established exp.rimental model for studying blood and lymp. microcirculation in vivo. Recent advances in cell biology and op.ical techniques p.ovide the basis for extending this model for new ap.lications, which should generate significantly imp.oved exp.rimental data. This review summarizes the achievements in this sp.cific area, including in vivo label-free blood and lymp. p.otothermal flow cytometry, sup.r-sensitive fluorescence image cytometry, light scattering and sp.ckle flow cytometry, microvessel dynamic microscop., infrared (IR) angiograp.y, and high-sp.ed imaging of individual cells in fast flow. The cap.bilities of these techniques, using the rat mesentery model, were demonstrated in various studies; e.g., real-time quantitative detection of circulating and migrating individual blood and cancer cells, studies on vascular dynamics with a focus on lymp.atics under normal conditions and under different interventions (e.g. lasers, drugs, nicotine), assessment of lymp.atic disturbances from exp.rimental lymp.edema, monitoring cell traffic between blood and lymp. systems, and high-sp.ed imaging of cell transient deformability in flow. In p.rticular, the obtained results demonstrated that individual cell transp.rtation in living organisms dep.nds on cell typ. (e.g., normal blood or leukemic cells), the cell’s functional state (e.g., live, ap.p.otic, or necrotic), and the functional status of the organism. p.ssible future ap.lications, including in vivo early diagnosis and p.evention of disease, monitoring immune resp.nse and ap.p.osis, chemo- and radio-sensitivity tests, and drug screening, are also discussed.

Jasmonic Acid Oxidase 2 Hydroxylates Jasmonic Acid and Rep.esses Basal Defense and Resistance Resp.nses against Botrytis cinerea Infection

Jasmonates （JAs） orchestrate immune resp.nses up.n wound/herbivore injury or infection by necrotro- p.ic p.thogens. Elucidation of catabolic routes has revealed new comp.exity in jasmonate metabolism. Two integrated p.thways attenuate signaling by turning over the active hormone jasmonoyl-isoleucine （JA-Ile） through w-oxidation or deconjugation, and define an indirect route forming the derivative 12OH-JA. Here, we p.ovide evidence for a second 12OH-JA formation p.thway by direct jasmonic acid （JA） oxidation. Three jasmonic acid oxidases （JAOs） of the 2-oxoglutarate dioxygenase family catalyze sp.- cific oxidation of JA to 12OH-JA, and their genes are induced by wounding or infection by the fungus Botrytis cinerea. JA02 exhibits the highest basal exp.ession, and its deficiency in jao2 mutants strongly enhanced antifungal resistance. The resistance p.enotyp. resulted from constitutive exp.ession of antimi- crobial markers rather than from their higher induction in infected jao2 p.ants and could be reversed by ectop.c exp.ession of any of the three JAOs injao2. Elevated defense injao2 was dep.ndent on the activity of JASMONATE RESp.NSE 1 （JAR1） and CORONATINE-INSENSITIVE 1 （COI1） but was not correlated with erihanced JA-Ile accumulation. Instead, jao2 mutant lines disp.ayed altered accumulation of several JA sp.cies in healthy and challenged p.ants, suggesting elevated metabolic flux through JA-Ile. Collectively, these data identify the missing enzymes hydroxylating JA and uncover an imp.rtant metabolic diversion mechanism for rep.essing basal JA defense resp.nses.

The Syhomy of the Genetic Code Is the p.th to the Real Sp.ech Characteristics of the Encoded p.oteins

The following is the theoretical and exp.rimental analysis of the role of the third nucleotide in codons during p.otein biosynthesis. Its role is largely enhanced comp.red to the existing understanding. Third nucleotide functionally and symmetrically divides codon families in 32 synonyms and 32 SYnonymous-HOMonymous hybrid codons—SYHOMs. Wherein, the syhoms function is to initiate nonlocal ribosome analysis of mRNA, rep.esenting real context in DNA language. Such analysis is a natural necessity for selection of one amino acid from two different amino acids, and between amino acids or a stop.p.sition, in situations when a ribosome interacts with syhom codons which have dual coding. This was theoretically substantiated earlier?[1] [2] [3]. Exp.rimental work [4] confirmed this theory: It was demonstrated that two different amino acids, selenocysteine and cysteine, are coded by a single UGA-syhom-codon for Eup.otes crassus infusoria. This result does not call into question the dogma of unambiguity of amino acids and stop.p.sition coding by the cells genome, but it requires amendments to the existing model of genetic coding. These amendments are based on an enhanced understanding of the sp.cial linguistic/semantic role of the third nucleotide in codons and on the accep.ance of the idea of real, rather than metap.orical, textuality of p.otein genes (mRNA). Such comp.ehension of the sp.ech-similarity of genes (mRNA) and the role that third nucleotide in codons p.ays in this, leads to a simp.e statement about the quasi-consciousness (biocomp.ting) of the p.otein-synthesizing-system and its ability to recognize the context (meaning) of mRNA to make the correct choice of amino acids and stop. in a syhom situation, based on the meanings of gene texts (mRNA).

Melanoma is one of the most aggressive typ.s of malignant tumors,commonly affecting young *** treatment of metastatic tumors remains obscure due to the resistance of tumor cells to drugs mediated by various *** acquisition of a resistant p.enotyp. is associated with both genetic and ep.genetic alterations in cancer ***,the current study aimed to investigate whether microRNA(miR)-204-5p.could p.omote alterations in the cell cycle and ap.p.osis of dacarbazine(DTIC)-treated melanoma *** real time p.R showed that transfection of DTIC-treated SK-MEL-2 melanoma cells with miR-204-5p.mimics signiﬁcantly up.egulated ***,ﬂow cytometric analysis revealed that the p.op.rtion of cells in different p.ases of the cell cycle remained ***,the p.op.rtion of early ap.p.otic cells was notably enhanced following cell treatment with DTIC,accomp.nied by a p.ofound increase in Ki-67 negative cells,as veriﬁed by an immunoﬂuorescence ***,miR-204-5p.overexp.ession reduced the p.rcentage of early ap.p.otic DTIC-treated melanoma *** p.op.rtion of Ki-67 negative cells was only increased by 3%.Overall,the results of the current study indicated that miR-204-5p.overexp.ession could mostly attenuate cell ap.p.osis in DTIC-treated cells rather than p.omote their transition from the G0 p.ase of the cell cycle in resp.nse to chemotherap.utic agent-induced stress.
