The cur.ent study was per.or.0}d to evaluate the li.er.functi.n status as well as m.lecular.char.cter.1}ati.n of the r.cover.d wor.0} i. r.ts exper.1}0}ntally i.fected wi.h F. hepati.a. Si.teen m.le Wi.ter.r.ts aged 30 days wer. r.ndom.y allocated i.to two gr.ups (n = 8). The fi.st gr.up was i.fected or.lly wi.h 15 vi.ble encysted m.tacer.ar.1} of F. hepati.a per.ani.0}l. The other.gr.up was kept non-i.fected (contr.l gr.up). At zer. ti.0} (befor. i.fecti.n), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-i.fecti.n (WPi., blood and ser.m.sam.les wer. collected vi. punctur. of r.tr.-or.i.al plexus of vei.s fr.m.each r.t. Ser.m.enzym. level (AST and ALT) and total pr.tei. wer. m.asur.d, and the ser.m.pr.tei. pr.fi.e was car.i.d out usi.g agar.se gel electr.phor.si.. Dur.1}g the per.1}d of the exper.1}0}nt, ser.m.ALT and AST acti.i.i.s and ser.m.total globuli.s si.ni.i.antly i.cr.ased whi.e ser.m.total pr.tei.s and album.n m.r.edly decr.ased i. the i.fected gr.up. On the 14th WPi. the data of the electr.pher.gr.m.showed that globuli. fr.cti.ns (α1-, β- and γ-globuli.) levels wer. si.ni.i.antly i.cr.ased whi.e α2-globuli. was m.r.edly decr.ased i. the i.fected gr.up. The m.lecular.analysi. confi.m.d the am.li.i.ati.n of the i.S1, i.S2 and nDi.genes of F. hepati.a r.cover.d fr.m.the i.fected li.er.of r.ts wi.h am.li.on si.es of 630, 510 and 560 bp, r.specti.ely.
