Iron-sulfur clusters(ISC)are essential cofactors for proteins involved in various biological processes,such as electron transport,biosynthetic reactions,DNA repair,and gene expression *** assembly protein IscA1(or MagR)is found within the mitochondria of most ***(MagR)is a highly conserved A-type iron and iron-sulfur cluster-binding protein,characterized by two distinct types of iron-sulfur clusters,[2Fe-2S]and[3Fe-4S],each conferring unique magnetic *** forms a rod-like polymer structure in complex with photoreceptive cryptochrome(Cry)and serves as a putative magnetoreceptor for retrieving geomagnetic information in animal *** the N-terminal sequences of MagR vary among species,their specific function remains *** the present study,we found that the N-terminal sequences of pigeon MagR,previously thought to serve as a mitochondrial targeting signal(MTS),were not cleaved following mitochondrial entry but instead modulated the efficiency with which iron-sulfur clusters and irons are ***,the N-terminal region of MagR was required for the formation of a stable MagR/Cry ***,the N-terminal sequences in pigeon MagR fulfil more important functional roles than just mitochondrial *** results further extend our understanding of the function of MagR and provide new insights into the origin of magnetoreception from an evolutionary perspective.

A-site assisted perovskite crystallization via ion-exchange MOFs for high efficient and stable perovskite solar cells

Here,a novel strategy is proposed targeting the volatility of A-site cations and the disordered arrangement of perovskite grains through employing Cs~+contained metal-organic frameworks In-aip(Cs)obtained by ion-exchange and crystalline *** forces between Cs-O atoms split the pore channels of the pristine In-aip,endowing In-aip(Cs)with multidimensional charge transport channels,In addition,the partially freed Cs~+in the interlayer compensates for the vacancy of A-site cations during the perovskite preparation *** In-aip(Cs)modified perovskite films have a flat morphology,large grains and excellent optoelectronic *** from the high-quality perovskite films and faster charge extraction,the In-aip(Cs)-modified PSCs achieved a champion PCE of 23.03%,superior to the In-aip-modified(22.29%)and control device(21.13%),More importantly,the unencapsulated PSCs modified with In-aip(Cs)exhibited outstanding humidity and thermal *** a period of almost 1000 h,the unencapsulated In-aip(Cs)-modified device retained 85%of its initial PCE after storing in a glove box at 85℃,and retained 87%of the primary PCE upon storage in ambient condition at 25℃under a humidity of 40%.

Highly efficient recovery of waste LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) cathode materials using a process involving pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy

Substantial environmental and economic benefits can be achieved by recycling used lithium-ion batteries. Hydrometallurgy is often employed to recover waste LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) cathode materials. As Ni, Co and Mn are transition metals, they exhibit similar properties;therefore, separating them is difficult. Thus, most researchers have focused on leaching processes, while minimal attention has been devoted to the separation of valuable metals from waste LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) cathode materials. Herein, we propose an environment-friendly, gentle process involving the usage of pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy to gradually leach valuable metals and effectively separate them. Interestingly, Li is recovered through a reduction roasting and water leaching process using natural graphite powder, Ni and Co are recovered through ammonia leaching and extraction processes and Mn is recovered through acid leaching and evaporation–crystallization processes. Results show that ~87% Li, 97.01% Co, 97.08% Ni and 99% Mn can be leached using water, ammonia and acid leaching processes. The result obtained using the response surface methodology shows that the concentration of (NH4)2SO3 is a notable factor affecting the leaching of transition metals. Under optimal conditions, ~97.01% Co, 97.08% Ni and 0.64% Mn can be leached out. The decomposition of LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_(z)O_(2) is a two-step process. This study provides valuable insights to develop an environment-friendly, gentle leaching process for efficiently recycling valuable metals, which is vital for the lithium-ion battery recycling industry.

Atomically thin MoSe_(2) layers,as a core member of the transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)family,benefit from their appealing properties,including tunable band gaps,high exciton binding energies,and giant oscillator strengths,thus pro-viding an intriguing platform for optoelectronic applications of light-emitting diodes(LEDs),field-effect transistors(FETs),sin-gle-photon emitters(SPEs),and coherent light sources(CLSs).Moreover,these MoSe_(2) layers can realize strong excitonic emis-sion in the near-infrared wavelengths,which can be combined with the silicon-based integration technologies and further encourage the development of the new generation technologies of on-chip optical interconnection,quantum computing,and quantum information ***,we overview the state-of-the-art applications of light-emitting devices based on two-dimensional MoSe_(2) ***,we introduce recent developments in excitonic emission features from atomically thin MoSe_(2) and their dependences on typical physical ***,we focus on the exciton-polaritons and plasmon-exciton polaritons in MoSe_(2) coupled to the diverse forms of optical ***,we highlight the promising applications of LEDs,SPEs,and CLSs based on MoSe_(2) and their ***,we summarize the challenges and opportunities for high-quality emis-sion of MoSe_(2) and high-performance light-emitting devices.

Functional-group-transfer strategies that avoid the use of unsustainable chemicals are attractive for the development of green ***(CFCs)not only contribute to the depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer,but their gaseous nature also poses a serious threat in scientific ***,the design of effective and sustainable alternatives to CFCs is highly ***,a practical CFC transfer platform for the addition of both a fluoroalkyl group and a chlorine substituent across alkenes by a photomediated redox-neutral manifold using bench-stable and easy-to-handle oxime-based surrogates is *** distinct reactivity of these tunable reagents allows for their single-electron reduction to trigger fragmentation driven by benzonitrile formation and loss of carbon *** other fragments released in that step,namely an electrophilic fluoroalkyl radical and a nucleophilic chloride anion,are subsequently transferred onto alkenes by a radical-ionic mechanism to deliver the desired chlorofluorocarbon products.

This paper examines the mechanical behavior ofﬁber reinforced polymer(FRP)-conﬁned concrete under cyclic compression using the 3D cohesive zone model(CzM).A numerical modeling method was developed,employing zero-thickness cohesive elements to represent the stress-displacement relationship of concrete potential fracture surfaces and FRP-concrete ***,mixed-mode damage plastic constitutive models were pro-posed for the concrete potential fracture surfaces and FRP-concrete interface,considering interfacial ***,an anisotropic plastic constitutive model was developed for the FRP composite *** CzM model proposed in this study was validated using experimental data from plain concrete and large rupture strain(LRS)FRP-conﬁned concrete subjected to cyclic *** simulation results demonstrate that the pro-posed model accurately predicts the mechanical response of both concrete and FRP-conﬁned concrete under cyc-lic ***,various parametric studies were conducted to investigate the internal failure mechanism of FRP-conﬁned concrete under cyclic loading to analyze the inﬂuence of the inner friction plasticity of different components.

Low-temperature,ambient processing of high-quality CsPbBr_(3)films is demanded for scalable production of efficient,low-cost carbon-electrode perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Herein,we demonstrate a crystal orientation engineering strategy of PbBr_(2)precursor film to accelerate its reaction with CsBr precursor during two-step sequential deposition of CsPbBr_(3)*** a novel strategy is proceeded by adding CsBr species into PbBr_(2)precursor,which can tailor the preferred crystal orientation of PbBr_(2)film from[020]into[031],with CsBr additive staying in the film as CsPb_(2)Br_(5)*** calculations show that the reaction energy barrier of(031)planes of PbBr_(2)with CsBr is lower about 2.28 eV than that of(O2O)***,CsPbBr_(3)films with full coverage,high purity,high crystallinity,micro-sized grains can be obtained at a low temperature of 150℃.Carbon-electrode PSCs with these desired CsPbBr_(3)films yield the record-high efficiency of 10.27%coupled with excellent operation ***,the 1 cm^(2)area one with the superior efficiency of 8.00%as well as the flexible one with the champion efficiency of 8.27%and excellent mechanical bending characteristics are also achieved.

The battery management system is employed to monitor the external temperature of the lithium-ion battery in order to detect any potential ***,this outside–in detection method often suffers from a lag and is therefore unable to accurately predict the battery’s real-time ***,an inside–out frequency response approach is used to accurately monitor the battery’s state at various temperatures in real-time and correlate it with the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)evolution of the graphite *** SEI evolution at temperatures of−15,25,60,and 90℃exhibits certain regular characteristics with temperature *** a temperature of−15℃,the Li^(+)-solvent interaction of lithium-ion slowed down,resulting in a significant reduction in *** 25℃,a LiF-rich inorganic SEI was identified as forming,which facilitated lithium-ion ***,high temperatures would induce decomposition of lithium hexafluorophosphate(LiPF_(6))and lithium-ion *** the extreme temperature of 90℃,the SEI would be organic-rich,and Li_(x)P_(y)F_(z),a decomposition product of lithium salts,was further oxidized to Li_(x)PO_(y)F_(z),which led to a surge in the charge-transfer resistance at SEI(R_(sei))and a reduction in Coulombic efficiency(CE).This changing relationship can be recorded in real time from the inside out by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)*** provides a new theoretical basis for the structural evolution of lithium-ion batteries and the regular characterization of EIS.
