In this work, membrane evaluation, gas permeation properties and characterisation have been presented. A silica composite membrane was prepared, characterized and used for the permeation tests with four carrier gases to determine the most suitable carrier gas for enhancing the analysis of esterification product with gas chromatograph. The carrier gases used for the permeation tests were carbon dioxide (CO2), argon (Ar), helium (He) and nitrogen (N2). The permeation analysis was carried out between the gauge pressure range of 0.10 - 1.00 bar and temperature of 60℃. The gas flow rate was found to increase with respect to gauge pressure. The order of the gas flow rate with respect to the gauge pressure was Ar > CO2 > He > N2. The surface morphology and elemental composition of the membrane were analysed using scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive analysis of x-ray (the Zeiss EVO ls10). The SEM results exhibited a defect-free surface while the EDAX results identified different elements on the spectra including titanium (Ti), silicon (Si) and oxygen (O). Liquid nitrogen adsorption method (Quantachrome 2013 model) was used for the surface area and pore size distribution analysis. The Brunauer-Emmette-Teller (BET) surface area results of the 5th and 6th dip-coated membranes were 1.497 and 0.253 m2/g respectively, while the Barrette-Joyner-Halender (BJH) curves gave a pore size of 4.184 and 4.180 nm respectively for the 5th and 6th dip-coated membranes indicating a mesoporous structure. The BET curve exhibited a type IV isotherm. The BJH curve of the 6th dip-coated membrane showed a significant reduction in flow rate after the modification process. The membrane recorded a permeance in the range of to . The permeance relationship with the inverse square root of the gas molecular weight showed a linear proportionality with the flow of carrier gases confirming Knudsen flow mechanism of gas transport.

Objective:To focus on the growth rate and feed utilization of fish by using trash fish feeds supplement with marine ***:Selected seaweed was extracted using hot-water and its extract was mixed with trash fish feed at different concentrations(0.5%,1%and 2%for 1-30 days)and the non-specific immune response in fish was studied and challenged with Vibrio alginolyticus at 1×106 CFU/*** hot-water extract of seaweeds was analysed by gas chromatography-mass ***:The average body weight(5.320±0.018),percent weight gain(227.66±0.28),specific growth rate(2.080±0.015),hepatosomatic index(1.197±0.00)and viscerosomatic index(4.421±0.150)were significantly increased in the fish feed with seaweed containing 5%of Sargassum wightii(***)when compared with other seaweeds and control ***-water extract of ***(1%)was significantly enhanced the immune response in fish when compared with other diets(0.5%and 2%).*** showed good immunostimulation *** chromatography-mass spectrometry result showed that the hot-water extract of *** seaweed contained fatty ***:Trash fish feed will reduce the production cost and also provide evidence that aqueous leaf extract of ***(1%)was added to a formulated fish diet which could activate the non-specific immune response and disease resistance against Vibrio alginolyticus in Mugil cephalus.

Objective:Fresh marine seaweeds Gracilaria edulis,Gracillaria verrcosa,Acanthospora spicifera,Ulva facita,Ulva lacta(***),Kappaphycus spicifera,Sargassum ilicifolium,Sargassum wightii(***),Padina tetramatica and Padina gymonospora were collected from Mandapam(Rameshwaram,Tamil Nadu)of South East coast of India and were screened for antibacterial ***:All the collected seaweeds were extracted by using five different solvent(methanol,isopropanol,acetone,chloroform,diethyl ether)to study their extracts against fish pathogenic bacteria ***(VA09)purchased from *** minimum inhibition carried out by using Resazurin micro-titre *** extract of *** analysied by ***:The methanolic extract of *** produced a maximum zone of inhibition(1.95±0.11)cm,isopropanol extract maximum inhibition was produced by ***(1.93±0.78)cm,Acetone extract of Gracilaria verrcosa showed maximum zone of inhibition(1.36±0.05)cm,chloroform extract of *** produced a maximum zone(1.56±0.25)cm and diethyl ether extract of *** produced maximum zone of inhibition(1.86±0.11)*** on the antibacterial activity ***,*** and Padina tetramatica showed best antibacterial activity against Vibrio *** this three seaweeds were taken for MIC *** *** methanolic extract,*** diethyl ether extract and Padina tetramatica methanolic extract showed a higher MIC values,and despectively were 25 mg/mL,50 mg/mL and 50 mg/*** result showed that mostly phenolic compounds were present in the ***:Based on the FTIR result *** have high amount of phenolic *** compound have the good antimicrobial *** results clearly show that *** is an interesting source for biologically active compounds that may be applied for prophylaxis and therapy of bacterial fish diseases and it should be used for immunostimulation activity in aquaculture.
