The.distribution of the.planktivorous basking shark Ce.orhinus maximus is influe.ce. by zooplankton abundance.at small scale. and te.pe.ature.at me.ium scale. in the.North Atlantic. He.e. we.e.timate.the.distribution of basking sharks on South Atlantic contine.tal she.ve., and the.re.ative.importance.of chlorophyll conce.tration, as a proxy for zooplankton abun- dance. and te.pe.ature.in de.e.mining habitat suitability for basking sharks at large.scale.. We.use. maximum e.tropy （Maxe.t） and maximum like.ihood （MaxLike. spe.ie. distribution mode.ling to te.t thre. hypothe.e.： the.distribution of basking sharks is de.e.mine. by （1） te.pe.ature. （2） chlorophyll conce.tration, or （3） both chlorophyll and te.pe.ature. while.conside.ing othe. factors, such as oxyge. and salinity. Off South Ame.ica, basking shark habitat include. subtropical, te.pe.ate.and cool-te.pe.ate.wate.s be.we.n approximate.y 20°S and 55°S. Off Africa, basking shark habitat was limite. to cool-te.pe.ate.wate.s off Namibia and southe.n South Africa. MaxLike.mode.s bad a be.te. fit than Maxe.t mode.s. The.be.t mode. include. minimum chlorophyll conce.tration, dissolve. oxyge. conce.tration, and se. surface.te.pe.ature.range. supporting hypothe.is 3. Howe.e., of all variable. include. in the.be.t mode., minimum chlorophyll conce.tration had the.highe.t influe.ce.on basking shark distribution. Unlike.the.North Atlantic distribution, the.South Atlantic distribution of basking sharks include. subtropical and cool-te.pe.ate.wate.s. Le.f de.e.opme.t has be.n e.te.sive.y studie. on a ge.e.ic le.e.. Howe.e., little.is known about the.inte.- play be.we.n the.de.e.opme.tal re.ulators and the.ce.l cycle.machine.y--a link that ultimate.y affe.ts le.f form and size. miR319 is a conse.ve. microRNA that re.ulate. TCP transcription factors involve. in multiple.de.e.opme.tal pathways, including le.f de.e.opme.t and se.e.ce.ce. organ curvature. and hormone.biosynthe.is and signaling. He.e. we.analyze.the.participation of TCP4 in the.control of ce.l prolife.ation. A small incre.se.in TCP4 activity has an imme.iate.impact on le.f ce.l numbe., by significantly re.ucing ce.l prolife.ation. Plants with high TCP4 le.e.s have.a strong re.uction in the.e.pre.sion of ge.e. known to be.active.in G2-M phase.of the.ce.l cycle. Part of the.e.e.fe.ts is me.iate. by induction of miR396, which re.re.se. Growth-Re.ulating Factor （GRF） transcription factors. De.aile. analysis re.e.le. TCP4 to be.a dire.t re.ulator of MIR396b. Howe.e., we.found that TCP4 can control ce.l prolife.ation through additional pathways, and we.ide.tifie. a dire.t conne.tion be.we.n TCP4 and ICK1/KRP1, a ge.e.involve. in the.progre.sion of the.ce.l cycle. Nations(UN)’s call for a de.ade.of“e.osyste. re.toration”was prompte. by the.ne.d to addre.s the.e.te.sive.impact of anthropoge.ic activitie. on natural *** e.osyste. re.toration is incre.singly ne.e.sary due.to incre.sing habitat de.re.ation in de.p wate.s(>200 m de.th).At the.e.de.ths,which are.far be.ond those.acce.sible.by dive.s,only e.tablishe. and e.e.ging robotic platforms such as re.ote.y ope.ate. ve.icle.(ROVs),autonomous unde.wate. ve.icle.(AUVs),lande.s,and crawle.s can ope.ate.through manipulators and multiparame.ric se.sor arrays(e.g.,optoacoustic imaging,omics,and e.vironme.tal probe.).The.use.of advance. te.hnologie. for de.p-se. e.osyste. re.toration can provide.①high-re.olution thre.-dime.sional(3D)imaging and acoustic mapping of substrate. and ke. taxa,②physical manipulation of substrate. and ke. taxa,③re.l-time.supe.vision of re.ote.ope.ations and long-te.m e.ological monitoring,and④the.pote.tial to work ***,we.de.cribe.how robotic platforms with in situ manipulation capabilitie. and payloads of innovative.se.sors could autonomously conduct active.re.toration and monitoring across large.spatial *** e.pe.t that the.e.de.ice. will be.particularly use.ul in de.p-se. habitats,such as①re.f-building cold-wate. corals,②soft-bottom bamboo corals,and③soft-bottom fishe.y re.ource. that have.alre.dy be.n damage. by offshore.industrie.(i.e.,fishing and oil/gas).
