Gender classification is used in numerous applications such as biometrics,criminology,surv.illance,HCI,and business *** biometric factors like gait,face,hand shape,and iris hav. been used to classify people into genders,the majority of research has focused on facial traits due to their more recognizable *** research employs fingerprints to classify gender,with the intention of being relev.nt for future *** methods for gender classification utilizing fingerprints hav. been presented in the literature,including ANN,KNN,Naiv. Bayes,the Gaussian mixture model,and deep learning-based *** these classifiers hav. shown good classification accuracy,gender classification remains an unexplored field of study that necessitates the dev.lopment of new approaches to enhance recognition accuracy,computation,and running *** this paper,a CNN-Sv. hybrid framework for gender classification from fingerprints is proposed,where preprocessing,feature extraction,and classification are the three main *** main goal of this study is to use CNN to extract fingerprint *** features are then sent to an Sv. classifier to determine *** hybrid model’s performance measures are examined and compared to those of the conv.ntional CNN *** a CNN-Sv. hybrid model,the accuracy of gender classification based on fingerprints was 99.25%.

Introduction: Most febrile illnesses in Ghana are often misdiagnosed and presumptiv.ly treated as malaria. This situation may be due to the inappropriate diagnostic tool, clinical ov.rsight and lack of awareness of some of the disease conditions that might hav. been present in the country. This study sought to inv.stigate the seroprev.lence of dengue v.rus, geographical location of participants with circulating antibodies and finally ev.luate the diagnostic accuracy of a Rapid diagnostic kit (RDT) using Enzyme Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay (ELISA) as a gold standard for confirmation. Method: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted among adults (≥18) attending the Univ.rsity of Cape Coast Hospital. From each participant, 3 - 4 ml of v.nous blood was drawn and serum was tested for IgG and IgM using RDT methods. Positiv. samples were selected for ELISA confirmation. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS (v.20) and STATA (v.14) software. Results: A total of 270 participants were enrolled in the study. The geometric mean age was 32 years. Ov.rall, Dengue v.rus (DENv. IgG seroprev.lence by RDT was 10 (3.7%). Seroprev.lence of IgG and IgM by the ELISA method was 34 (12.6%) and 6 (2.2%) respectiv.ly. Females recorded a high seroprev.lence (7.4%) than males (5.2%) in terms of past exposure (IgG). On current exposure (IgM), females recorded a high seroprev.lence (1.5%) than males (0.7%). Seroprev.lence of indiv.duals with dual positiv.ty ((IgG + IgM+) (acute secondary infection) was 1.9%. Those with primary and recent infection (IgM+ only) were 0.4% whiles those with past and probably secondary infection (IgG+ only) were 10.7%. The odds of dengue exposure were significantly high among participants with ages 50 - 59 as compared to their other counterparts (AOR = 3.5, p = 0.03). To reduce the risks associated with ov.r-dependence on synthetic insecticides and ensure leguminous food security, an experiment was conducted to ev.luate the potentials of integrating Piper guineense essential oil （PgEO） with cowpea v.rietal resistance in the control of cowpea seed beetle, Callosobruehus maculatus Fabricius. Four cowpea v.rieties （Sokoto, Drum, Oloyin and Gwallam） were studied. Data collected included ov.position, progeny emergence, Reproductiv. Efficiency （RE） and Percentage Seed Damage （PSD）. At first filial generation, numbers of eggs laid on Oloyin v.riety treated with 25 μL PgEO per 25 g cowpea seeds （2.15） were significantly （p〈0.05） lower than the v.lues obtained in untreated cowpea （3.61） and hexane-treated seeds （3.07）. C. maculatus RE on Oloyin （33.73） was significantly （p〈0.05） lower than v.lues obtained on other v.rieties （47.34-54.67） for seeds without PgEO; and were significantly greater than 0.00 observ.d on Oloyin seeds treated with 50 pL PgEO. PSD on Oloyin （6.63%） was significantly （p〈0.05） lower than the v.lues obtained on Sokoto （10.04%） and Drum （9.79%） for seeds without PgEO, while there was no damage in Oloyin treated with 50 pL PgEO. Significantly （p〈0.05） lower F2 progeny emergence occurred on Oloyin （4.02） and Sokoto （4.71） compared with Drum （9.03） and Gwallam （6.07） from the untreated cowpea seeds. The results implied that application of PgEO to Oloyin gav. better protection from infestation of C. maculatus than other v.rieties. Hence, combination of v.rietal resistance with PgEO for management ofbruchid could be an effectiv. mean of improv.ng cowpea food security.
