Raw materials availability needed for commercial bioethanol production is one of the chal-lenges against its global *** rich,cheap,underused,and readily available starch sources for bioethanol production could help address the ***,this current study inves-tigated the bioconversion of underutilized Artocarpus altilis(breadfruit)starch to bioethanol using Saccharomyces *** effects of the essential fermentation conditions(fermentation time,breadfruit starch hydrolysate(BSH)concentration,pH,and inoculum size)and their interactions on bioethanol production were *** central composite design was used to generate twenty-one experiments conducted under batch fermentation conditions in the *** breadfruit starch hydrolysis led to a BSH concentration of 108.9 g/L under a starch concentration of 122 g/L,microwave output of 720 W,and an incubation time of 6 *** the fermentation of BSH,maximum bioethanol production of 4.99%(V)was reached under the cultivation conditions of BSH concentration of 80 g/L,medium pH of 4.7,inoculum size of 2%(V),and fermentation time of 20.41 *** for pH,the impact of each parameter on the bioethanol production was in this order:BSH concentration,inoculum size,and fermentation *** for the interactions amongst the parameters,the impact is in this order:BSH concentration and inoculum size;BSH concentration and fermentation time;and fermentation time and inoculum *** results of this study indicated breadfruit starch could be hydrolyzed using acid hydrolysis and microwave irradiation in a relatively short *** BSH obtained could potentially add to other substrates for bioethanol production.

MWCNTs/SWCNTs Nanofluid Thin Film Flow over a Nonlinear Extending Disc: oHAM Solution

The aim of this research is the improvement towards the consumption of energy in the field of engineering and industry. The efforts have been paid to the enhancement of heat transmission and cooling process through a nanofluid coating of a nonlinear stretching disc. The combination of Water(H2 o) and multiple walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNT)/single walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT) have been used as a nanofluid. The spreading of a thin nano-layer with variable thickness over a nonlinear and radially stretching surface has been considered. The estimated results of the problem have been accomplished using the optimal Homotopy Analysis Method(oHAM). The residual errors of the oHAM method have been shown physically and numerically. The important physical parameters of skin friction and Nusselt number have been calculated and discussed. The other embedding parameters like generalized magnetic parameter, Prantl number, nanofluid volume fraction and Eckert number have been intended and discussed. The obtained results have been compared with the Numerical(ND-Solve) method for both sorts of CNTs. The closed agreement of both methods has been achieved.

到目前为止,油/水的分离是一个世界性的问题,大量废油和溢油的排放对人类的健康和整个的生存环境造成了很大的危害。因此,我们必须要制备出拥有相应功能的材料,以防出现处理此类问题的需要。虽然目前有许多材料可用于补救石油泄漏的情况,但这些材料往往效率低下,并且从某种意义上来说,这些材料也不环保。近年来,超疏水材料因其可应用方向众多而备受关注。而我们这项研究的目的就是制造用于油/水分离的超/疏水材料。首先,我们采用简单而低成本的工艺,制备与Si o溶胶结合的羟基化BN,然后通过浸涂的方法,在聚氨酯(PU)泡沫上嵌入BN/Si o(BN/Si o@PU)。BN/Si o@PU由于其自身的疏水性,它会漂浮在水面上,所以我们选择使用各种有机溶剂或油进行吸收测试以测试其性能。与BN/Si o气凝胶、BN@PU和Si o@PU相比,BN/Si o@PU对有机溶剂和油具有较高的吸收率和高吸收能力,可吸收多达40倍自身的重量。它还能够选择性地从油水混合物中吸收油或有机溶剂,分离效率高于95%,具有良好的可回收性与20个吸收周期,甚至可以用于商业废油的分离处理。其次,通过在亚麻织物上浸涂六甲基二硅氮烷(PDMS)、ZIF-90和氟硅烷(FAS)来制备改性织物。PDMS是自然界中一种已知的疏水性有机硅,我们将它涂在织物上,它作为潜在的疏水剂,可在表面遭到破坏时迁移到表面,以恢复疏水性。然后我们将经水热合成制备的ZIF-90涂在麻织物上,以提供纳米级粗糙度,再用FAS进行改性,以提高疏水性。得到的改性麻织物具有超强的疏水性,水接触角(WCA)为151°。同时,它还表现出了对几种油/水乳液的良好分离能力,达到了99.5%的最大分离效率和1213 L m h的通量。改性麻织物具有出色的可回收性,可回收10个周期,在机械耐久性和化学稳定性测试方面也表现出良好的稳定性,可在室温下通过热处理自行修复。在第三项工作中,我们用蛋黄壳Si o-Ti o纳米粒子和六甲基二硅氮烷(HMDS)涂层修饰聚丙烯无纺布涂层,制成了超疏水织物。改性织物的水接触角(WCA)为154°。它还显示了对多个油/水乳液的良好分离能力,最大分离效率达到99.5%,通量为3558 L mh。改性织物具有出色的可回收性,可回收10个周期,分离效率超过98%,通量超过3500 L mh。改性织物具有良好的机械耐久性,200次磨损周期后仍然是超疏水表面。它还对HSo、Na oH、盐溶液和DMF表现出良好的化学稳定性。它也可以在室温下和高温下自我修复。这些数据证明改性超疏水材料具有良好的机械和化学稳定性,自我修复能力和油/水乳液的高效分离效率。

Investigating environmental quality among G20 nations: The impacts of environmental goods and low-carbon technologies in mitigating environmental degradation

Environmental goods and low-carbon technologies have long been identified as having the potential to drive long-term economic progress without compromising environmental quality. However, their exact role in mitigating environmental degradation are yet to be unravelled. In addressing this shortfall, the extant literature relied on research funding and patent application as proxies for green technologies. Having established the weaknesses in the use of these variables as proxies for green technologies, this study explored the role of trade in environmental goods and low-carbon technologies in boosting environmental quality among G20 nation using a panel dataset from 1994 to 2018. The study employed the Method of Moment quantile regression for the model estimation and the Ridge regression, Discroll-Kraay standard error, and the Newey-West standard error estimators to test the robustness of our findings. our findings indicate that whereas environmental goods promote environmental quality, low-carbon technologies decrease same. Also, the study found economic growth to exert an aggravating effect on environmental quality, while foreign direct investments, natural resource rents, human capital development, and renewable energy consumption exert positive influence on environmental quality. Based on the findings of the study, G20 nations are encouraged to improve green market structures to improve the trade in environmental goods and low-carbon technologies. Also the share of renewable energy sources in the overall energy basket must be improved to help improve environmental quality.

Evaluating the presence of fresh water snails in a location is germane in establishing a snail-borne disease control *** purpose of the study was to see how physicochemical parameters influenced the population distribution of four fresh water snails(Lymnaea natalensis,Bulinus globosus,Biomphalaria pfeiffer,and Melanoides spp.)in the Amassoma community and Niger Delta University between March,2021 and May *** were gathered by plucking and scooping them by *** was identified using standard pictorial *** of the water of the snail habitat were measured using standard in-situ apparatus across eight sites Physico chemical measured were temperature,pH,conductivity,BoD,turbidity,salinity,and alkalinity.A total of 258 snails were gathered from the eight(8)different *** all sites,Lymnaea natalensis was more *** globosus,Biomphalaria pfeiffer,and Melanoides *** among the other snails *** had negative correlation with pH,conductivity,BoD,and alkalinity and a positive correlation with salinity and *** had a positive relationship with pH,salinity,and conductivity and a negative correlation with temperature,turbidity,BoD,and *** had a positive correlation with temperature,pH,salinity,turbidity,and alkalinity Melanoides had positive correlations with Temperature,pH,salinity,BoD,and alkalinity and a negative correlation with turbidity and *** was correlation between snails and *** presence of these snails suggests that the Amassoma village and Niger Delta University campuses are potential hotspots for a variety of snail-borne diseases.

A 2D GIS Approach for Mapping Aquiferous Zones Using Remotely Sensed Data within obubra, Southeast-Nigeria

Groundwater is vital to the sustenance and well-being of man-kind, although it is constantly under immense pressure. For this reason, there is need to develop an effective, reliable, scientific and sustainable means of delineating zones of groundwater occurrence and distribution with high precision in other to effectively explore for this resource. In this study, remote sensing (RS) and geographical information system (GIS) have been combined to develop thematic maps of the zones of groundwater occurrence and distribution based on variable factors such as;elevation, drainage, lineament, slope, lithology and soil. The analytical hierarchy procedure (AHP) was employed to classify and subsequently assign weight to each variable factor through weighted overlay analysis. Integration of these factors with their relative classes defined was used to produce a 2D-model for predicting surface aquifers mapped within obubra. The study delineated three (3) surface aquifer zones representing groundwater potential zones. Zones representing high groundwater potential cover an area of approximately 331.94 Km2, accounting for 29.58% of the study area. The region that represents moderate to good groundwater occurrence and distribution covers an estimated area of approximately 648.42 Km2, occupying 57.78% of the study area. Zones with groundwater of low potential account for a total surface area of approximately 141.81 Km2 which is about 12.64% of the entire study area. Regions that show good to moderate and high groundwater potentials, have a wider distribution all across the study area except at the southernmost part. The study therefore shows that it is effective in delineating surface potential zones and hitherto a 2D surface aquifer model for groundwater exploration campaigns within obubra and its environs.

Character Association Studies in Groundnut (<i>Arachis hypogaea</i>L.)

The aim of this study was to evaluate the degree of relationship and association amongst morphological characters of groundnut as an important food crop in Nigeria. 118 cultivars were planted in a completely randomized design structure. Characterization was based on qualitative and quantitative evaluations of 62 characters. Data were analysed on the SPSS software (20.0 versions). Correlation tools were applied using Spearman, Kendall and Pearson methods. Level of relationship was determined based on the strength of coefficients R. Dependence among traits was tested using the Chi square. Multiple regression analysis was carried out in a predictive model. As a result, many of the traits are very weakly correlated. Day to emergence has no effect on Day to 50% flowering (R = 0.237, p of flower (R = 0.221, p o first flowering weakly correlates with maturity time of the plant (R = 0.39, p o effect on the yield. Also, number of flower correlates moderately with number of pods (R = 0.535, p o moderately affects leaflet sizes (R = 0.354, p ow R2 of 13%. Plant biomass moderately affects number of pod (R = 0.494, p od length (R = 0.395, p od width (R = 0.473, p of seed (R = 0.468, p ost of the high positive correlations recorded (R > 0.6, p observed amongst pod and seed parameters. Pod sizes significantly affect the number of seeds present (R = 0.551, p 2 of 30%. Qualitative traits have no effect on each other as all coefficients are very low. Pod constriction and sizes have no relationship (R = -0.029). Tolerance to diseases is not affected by any qualitative trait. Also, no trait determines seed colour. Glutathione peroxidase mimicry of diphenyl diselenide: Plausible contribution of proteins’ thiols

organoseleniums are a class of compounds attracting attention across the globe owing to their Glutathione peroxidase(GPx)mimicry,which confers on them a strong antioxidant *** diselenide(DPDS)is an organoselenium whose GPx mimetic property has been suggested to rely on the oxidation of non-protein or protein thiols critical to the activities of some sulfhydryl *** study,therefore investigated the GPx mimic/antioxidant property of DPDS as well as the role of thiols of two key sulfhydryl enzymes,cerebral Na^(+)/K^(+)-ATPase(sodium pump)and hepatic delta-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase(δ-ALAD)in the GPx mimicry of *** Wistar rats were euthanized,and the liver and brain were removed and used to assay for the effect of DPDS on lipid peroxidation induced by two prooxidants[Fe2^(+)(10μM)and H2o2,(1 mM)]as well as the activities of the sulfhydryl *** results revealed that DPDS profoundly(Pounteracted Fe2^(+)and H2o2-induced lipid peroxidation in the rats’hepatic and cerebral ***,the results of assay systems for lipid peroxidation and sodium pump revealed that DPDS inhibited Na^(+)/K^(+)-ATPase and lipid peroxidation in the brain tissue homogenates in the same reaction system.A similar result was obtained in the assay system for lipid peroxidation and hepaticδ-ALAD as DPDS simultaneously inhibited the enzyme’s activity and lipid *** suggests that the GPx mimetic property of DPDS may be linked to the enzymes’loss of activity,which further validates the suggestions that the enzymes’inhibition,as well as the antioxidant action of DPDS,rely on the oxidation of critical thiols of the ***,the GPx mimicry of DPDS should be investigated in the presence of thiol-blocking or oxidizing agents in biological systems in order to further ascertain the role of protein thiols.

Experimental and Computational Study of the Microwave Absorption Properties of Recycled α-Fe2o3/oPEFB Fiber/PCL Multi-Layered Composites

The aim of this study was to fabricate multi-layered recycled α-Fe2o3/oPEFB fiber/PCL composites for microwave absorbing applications in the 1 - 4 GHz frequency range. The multi-layered composites were 6 mm thick and each consisted of a 2 mm thick layer of recycled α-Fe2o3/PCL composites at various loadings (5 wt% - 25 wt%) of 16.2 nm recycled α-Fe2o3 nanofiller, placed between two layers of 2 mm thick oPEFB fiber/PCL composites blended at a fixed ratio of 7:3. The real (ε') and imaginary (ε") components of the relative complex permittivity were measured using the open-ended coaxial probe technique and the values obtained were applied as inputs for the Finite Element Method to calculate the reflection coefficient magnitudes from which the reflection loss (RL) properties were determined. Both ε' and ε" increased linearly with recycled α-Fe2o3 nanofiller content and the values of ε' varied between 3.0 and 3.9 while the ε" values ranged between 0.26 and 0.64 within 1 - 4 GHz. The RL (dB) showed the most prominent values within the 1.38 - 1.46 GHz band with a minimum of -38 dB attained by the 25 wt% composite. Another batch of minimum values occurred in the 2.39 - 3.49 GHz range with the lowest of -25 dB at 2.8 GHz. The recycled α-Fe2o3/oPEFB fiber/PCL multi-layered composites are promising materials that can be engineered for solving noise problems in the 1 - 4 GHz range.
