Objective:To evaluate the antidiabetic activities of ethanolic root extract/fraction of Anthocleista djalonensis(A. djalonensis) in alloxan-induced diabetic ***: A. djalonensisroot extract/fractions(37-111 mg/kg) were administered to alloxan-induced diabetic rats for 14 days and blood glucose levels(BGLs) of the diabetic rats were monitored at intervals of hours and days throughout the duration of the ***:Treatment of alloxan-induced diabetic rats with the extract/fractions caused a significant(Peduction in fasting BGLs of the diabetic rats both in acute study and prolonged treatment(2 weeks). The activities of the extract and fractions were more than that of the reference drug, glibenclam ***:These results suggest that the root extract/fractions of A. djalonensispossess antidiabetic effect on alloxan-induced diabetic rats and this justifies its use in ethnomedicine and can be exploited in the management of diabetes.

We study the effects of film thickness on lattice parameters, direct band gap and photovoltaic outputs in the sol-gel derived BiFeO3 thin films. With the change of the film thickness, the great transitions will take place in the preferred orientation and lattice parameters. Furthermore, the photovoltaic outputs are significantly dependent on the film thickness. The results show that the open circuit voltage gradually increases and the short circuit current reciprocally decreases with the increase of film thickness. In particular, we demonstrate for the first time that there are tunable photovoltaic outputs with external electric field polarization switching in the polycrystalline BiFeO3 film, which is critical for the future device applications based on the photovoltaic properties of BiFeO3 films.

Objective: To investigate the cooperative interaction among five genetic systems (phosphoglucomutase locus 1, adenosine deaminase locus 1, acid phosphatase locus 1, adenylate kinase locus 1, and haptoglobin) concerning their effects on natural fertility in humans. Natural fertility has been evaluated by a model of age related differences between the distributions of types among pregnant women. Methods: A total of 137 nonsmoking consecutive puerperaes from the white population who had delivered their first born baby in the Maternity Department of S. Massimo Hospital of Penne were studied. The phenotypes of the five systems studied were determined by starch gel electrophoresis. Statistical analysis was performed using the statistical package for the social science. Results: There was a highly significant negative correlation between maternal age and the number of genetic factors showing a lower maternal age at the birth of the first child, which suggested a positive cooperative interaction among these factors concerning their effects on fertility. Conclusions:In the relationship of mother-fetus, besides nutritional factors, genetic factors involved in immunological interaction of the embryo with the mother are of paramount importance. Haptoglobin and adenosine deaminase locus 1 polymorphisms are involved in immune reactions and our data indicate that genetic variability within these systems gives a more important contribution to variation of human fertility as compared to acid phosphatase locus 1, phosphoglucomutase locus 1 and adenylate kinase locus 1 that are mainly involved in metabolic functions.

This paper deals with the determination of temperature distribution and thermal deflection function of a thin circular plate with the stated conditions. The transient heat conduction equation is solved by using Marchi-Zgrablich transform and Laplace transform simultaneously and the results of temperature distribution and thermal deflection function are obtained in terms of infinite series of Bessel function and it is solved for special case by using Mathcad 2007 software and represented graphically by using Microsoft excel 2007.

Silicon carbide (SiC) has been prepared by passing natural gas over (100) oriented hot Si substrate at different temperatures in the range 930~1000℃. Reaction times of 60 and 90 min are *** profile, using Auger electron Spectroscopy, shows the formation of SiC under a thin coating of carbon for the samples prepared at 930 and 950℃. Annealing, at 1050℃ for 12 h,results in a more pronounced formation of SiC. It is found that at the temperature of 1000℃and reaction times of 60 and 90 min, a hard diamond-like coating is formed.

We have previously demonstrated a high frequency of premature ejaculation （Pe） among patients with male accessory gland infection （MAGI）. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ultrasound （US） features of patients with MAGI and acquired premature ejaculation （APe） associated （MAGI-APepos）. US evaluation of 50 MAGI-APepos patients compared to 50 patients with MAGI without Pe （MAGI-Peneg） which represent the control group. The diagnosis of APe was made through the evaluation of Intravaginal ejaculation latency time （IeLT） and confirmed with the questionnaire PeDT （Premature ejaculation Diagnostic Tool）. The main outcome measure was represented by the frequency of US criteria suggestive of P （prostatitis）, V （vesiculitis）, and e （epididymitis） in MAGI-APepos and MAGI-Peneg patients. MAGI-APepos patients showed a total number of US criteria significantly higher compared to MAGI-Peneg patients. MAGI-APepos showed a higher frequency of US criteria of V and e （complicated forms of MAGI）. Finally, in MAGI-APepos group, it was found a positive relationship between the anteroposterior diameter （APD） of the caudal tract of the epididymis and the APD of the seminal vesicles, as well as between both diameters and the PeDT score. MAGI-APepos patients have a peculiar US characterization compared to MAGI-Peneg patients. According to these results, US evaluation of the epididymal and of the prostato vesicular tract should be considered in the practical clinical approach of patients with MAGI and APe. In particular, it could be a SUDDort for a possible Dathoahysiological interpretation of this clinical problem in these patients.

Renal-cell carcinoma(RCC)remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality *** newer therapeutic combinations of immune checkpoint inhibitors and targeted therapies have greatly improved outcomes,resistance to these therapies is becoming a challenge for long-term *** of resistance have been explored in a variety of solid tumors,including *** upon our review of the current literature on the mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapies for the management of metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinomas(mccRCC),the ensuing conclusions have been made:The management of mccRCC has progressed substantially with the advent of checkpoint inhibitors and targeted oral therapies,alone and/or in ***,innate or developed resistance to these therapies remains an ongoing challenge,particularly to immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs).Several of the known mechanisms of resistance have been well defined,but recent progression in cellular therapies helps to expand the armamentarium of potential combination options that may overcome these modes of resistance and improve long-term disease control and survival for an otherwise dismal *** the ensuing review and update of the literature on the mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapies in mccRCC,we have revisited the known resistance mechanisms of immunotherapies in metastatic clear-cell RCC and explored ongoing and future strategies to overcome them.
