Aerospace milestones in human history, including returning to the moon and manned Martian missions,have been implemented in recent years. Space exploration has become one of the global common goals, and to ensure the survival and development of human beings in the extraterrestrial extreme environment has been becoming the basic ability and technology of manned space exploration. For the purpose of fulfilling the goal of extraterrestrial survival, researchers in Nanjing University and the China Academy of Space Technology proposed extraterrestrial artificial photosynthesis(eAP) technology. By simulating the natural photosynthesis of green plants on the earth, eAP converts CO/HO into fuel and Oin an in-situ,accelerated and controllable manner by using waste COin the confined space of spacecraft, or abundant COresources in extraterrestrial celestial environments, e.g. Mars. Thus, the material loading of manned spacecraft can be greatly reduced to support affordable and sustainable deep space exploration. In this paper, eAP technology is compared with existing methods of converting CO/HO into fuel and Oin the aerospace field, especially the Sabatier method and Bosch reduction method. The research progress of possible eAP materials for in-situ utilization of extraterrestrial resources are also discussed in depth. Finally,this review lists the challenges that the eAP process may encounter, which need to be focused on for future implementation and application. We expect to deepen the understanding of artificial photosynthetic materials and technologies, and aim to strongly support the development of manned spaceflight.

New insight into the ultra-long lifetime of excitons in organic-inorganic perovskite： Reverse intersystem crossing

Recently, an effective exciton diffusion length L exceeding 100μm has been reported for organic- inorganic halide perovskites owing to both the high mobility and ultra-long lifetime of the excitons; however, the origin of ultra-long L is still unclear in nature. In some photoelectric materials, reverse intersystem crossing （RISC） from the triplet to the singlet state can enhance the quantum yield of pho- toluminescence greatly. In this study, our theore.ical investigation indicated that the energy difference △e_st between the singlet state and the triplet state of CH_3NH_3Pbl_3 was less than 0.1 eV, which represents one crucial prerequisite for the occurrence of RISC. Meanwhile, the experimental results showed that the photoluminescence lifetime increased with the increasing temperature, a typical feature of RISC. Based on this study, we put forward the hypothesis that the ultra-long lifetime of excitons in organic-inorganic halide perovskite might be caused by the RISC process. This may provide a new insight into the important photophysical properties of such novel photovoltaic materials.

Thermal characterisation of PeGylated mucin

Objective:To investigate the characteristics of PeGylated mucin and its potential usage. Methods:Mucin was extracted from giant African land snails and PeCylated mucin was prepared with different ratios of PeG 2000-Mwt and mucin（1:1,0:1,2:1,1:3 and 3:1 to form batch A-e） using solvent *** physicoche.ical properties of mucin were identified and the solubility of mucin was *** thermal properties of PeGylated mucin were measured by differential scanning calorimetry（DSC）.Results:carbohydrates,proteins and trace amounts of fats were present in snail *** mucin powder was water-soluble at 30℃and more water-soluble at 35℃but not soluble;in acetone,ethanol,0.1 M NaOH,0.1M H2SO4 and 0.1 NH4OH was *** melting point Tm ranged from 58.58℃to 61.17℃, crystallization temperature Tc 37.08℃to 39.83℃,and glass transition temperature Tg 126.85℃to 138.39℃.The variation in Tm,Tc,and Tg with the composition in the PeGylaton showed that an interaction between PeG and mucin ***:This result can serve as a basis for further evaluation of the PeGylation method and be used for drug delivery.

The electroche.ical performance of hard carbon in sodium storage is still limited by its poor cycling stability and rate capability because of the sluggish kinetics *** this study,we use a simple and effective method to accelerate the kinetics process by engineering the structure of the electrode to promote its surface and near-surface *** goal is realized by the use of slightly aggregated ultra-small carbon *** large specific surface area formed by the small spheres can provide abundant active sites for electroche.ical *** abundant mesopores and macropores derived from the secondary particle piled structure of the carbon spheres could facilitate the transport of electrolytes,shorten the diffusion distance of Na^(+)and accommodate the volume expansion during *** from these unique structure features,PG700-3(carbon spheres with the diameters of 40-60 nm carbonized at 700℃)exhibits high performance for sodium storage.A high reversible capacity of 163 mAh g^(-1) could be delivered at a current density of 1.0 A g^(-1) after 100 ***,at a current density of 10.0 A g^(-1),the specific capacity of PG700-3 gradually increases to 140 mAh g^(-1) after 10000 cycles,corresponding to a capacity retention of 112%.Given the enhanced kinetics of SIBs reactions,PG700-3 exhibits an excellent rate capability,i.e.,230 and 138 mAh g^(-1) at 0.1 and 5.0 A g^(-1),*** study provides a facile method to attain high performance anode materials for *** design strategy and improvement mechanism could be extended to other materials for high rate applications.

High-temperature BaTiO_(3) -based ceramic capacitors by entropy engineering design

High-performance BaTiO_(3)(BTO)-based dielectric ceramics have great potential for high-power energy storagedevices. However, its poor temperature reliability and stability due to its low Curie temperature impedes the development ofmost electronic applications. Herein, a series of BTO-based ceramics are designed and prepared on the basis of entropyengineering. Owing to the incorporation of Bi(Mg_(0.5)Ti_(0.5))O_(3), relaxation behavior and low dielectric loss at high temperatureshave been achieved. Moreover, the high-entropy strategy also promotes lattice distortion, grain refinement and excellentresistance, which together increase the breakdown field strength. These simultaneous effects result in outstanding energystorage performance, ultimately achieving stable energy density (U_(e)) of 5.76 J·cm^(−3) and efficiency ( η) of 89%. Mostimportantly, the outstanding temperature stability makes high-entropy BTO-based ceramics realize a significant energystorage density of 4.90 0.14 J·cm^(−3) with the efficiency above 89%, spanning a wide temperature range of 25–250 ℃, aswell as cycling reliability with negligible performance deterioration after 3 105 cycles at 300 kV∙cm^(−1) and 200 ℃. Thisresearch presents an effective method for designing temperature-stable and reliable dielectrics with comprehensive energystorage performance.

A vanishing theorem is proved for e-adic cohomology with compact support on an affine (singular) complete intersection. As an application, it is shown that for an affine complete intersection defined over a finite field of q elements, the reciprocal "poles" of the zeta function are always divisible by q as algebraic integers. A p-adic proof is also given, which leads to further q-divisibiliy of the poles or equivalently an improvement of the polar part of the AxKatz theorem for an affine complete intersection. Similar results hold for a projective complete intersection.

effect of Ovariectomy on Serum Adiponectin Levels and Visceral Fat in Rats

This study was aimed to examine the effect of ovariectomy on visceral fat, serum adi- ponectin levels and lipid profile. Forty-five female Sprague DawIey rats were divided into three groups （n=15 each）： ovariectomized group （OVX）, ovariectomized plus estrogen-treated group （OVX＋e2）, and sham-operated group （SHAM）. Body weight, abdominal adipose tissues, serum adiponectin and lipid profile were measured and compared among the groups after three-month feeding post-surgery. Signifi- cant increases in body weight and visceral fat were found in ovariectomized rats when compared with sham-operated ones and significant increases were also observed in serum adiponectin, triglyceride and very low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in ovariectomized rats. Body weight, visceral fat and se- rum adiponectin levels were profoundly reduced in OVX＋e2 group as compared with OVX group. It was concluded that ovarian hormone deficiency induced by ovariectomy leads to significant increases in body weight and visceral fat, along with increased serum adiponectin, triglyceride and very low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in rats. Attenuation in these changes can be achieved by estrogen supple- mentation.

High-density dislocation and ductile precipitate synergistically reinforce d TiAl/Ni-based superalloy joint using novel multi-principal element interlayer

An extremely high-strength TiAl/Ni-based superalloy dissimilar joint was obtained using a designed Ni_(25)Zr_(25)Sn_(20)Cu_(10)Hf_(10)Cr_(5)Fe_(5)multi-principal element interlayer via contact reaction *** was found that a joint mainly composed of eutectic structure of(Ni)ss,(Ni,Cr,Fe)ss,and(Cr,Ni,Fe,Mo)ss,as well as micro-nano precipitates of(Ti)ss and(Hf,Zr)ss,could be achieved through the interaction between the interlayer and the base *** joint exhibited a shear strength of 498 MPa when brazed at 1190°C for 10 min,while the fracture occurred within the TiAl base metal,and the retention rate of high-temperature(HT)strength(650°C)was∼100%.The strengthening mechanism of the brazed joint was systematically discussed by transmission electron microscopy(TeM).It was shown that high-density dis-locations existed in each phase of the seam as well as twinning and stacking faults existed in the micro-nano precipitates,caused by a mass of solute atoms,greatly strengthened the *** HTs,the dislocation strengthening effect weakened due to grain recovery and recrystallization,but the joint could be addi-tionally toughened by ***,granular(Ti)ss dispersed through the seam and ductile reticular structure(Ni)ss toughened the joint via the mechanism of crack termination and *** proposed method provides a new approach for high strength and heat resistance joining of TiAl/Ni-based superalloy in aeroengine components.

LARGe-SIGNAL ReSULTS FOR DeGeNeRATe FOUR-WAVe MIXING AND PHASe CONJUGATe ReSONATORS

A calculation procedure and various large-signal and nume.ical solutions are presented for degenerate four-wave mixing in optical Kerr media, and for phase conjugate resonators using degenerate four-wave mixing. The solutions presented take full account of nonlinear refractive index changes, pump depletion, signal saturation, distributed losses, and possible external mirrors with laser gain. We find that including the nonlinear index change generally causes little change in the reflectivity or power output of degenerate four-wave mixing devices, at least with symmetric pumping. The optimum power output from a phase conjugate resonator with and without a laser gain medium is calculated.
