Sulfamethoxypyridazine（SMP） is one of the commonly used sulfonamide antibiotics（SAs）.SAs are mainly studied to undergo triplet-sensitized photodegradation in water under natural sunlight with other coexisting aquatic environmental organic *** this work,SMP was selected as a representative of *** studied the mechanisms of triplet-sensitized photodegradation of SMP and the influence of selected dissolved inorganic matter,i.e.,anions（Br^-,Cl^-,and NO^-_3） and cations ions（ca^（2＋）,Mg^（2＋）,and Zn^（2＋）） on SMP photodegradation mechanism by quantum che.ical *** addition,the degradation mechanisms of SMP by hydroxyl radical（OH·） were also *** creation of SO_2 extrusion product was accessed with two different energy pathways（pathway-1 and pathway-2） by following two steps（step-I and step-II） in the tripletsensitized photodegradation of *** to low activation energy,the pathway-1 was considered as the main pathway to obtain SO_2 extrusion ***-II of pathway-1 was measured to be the rate-limiting step（RLS） of SMP photodegradation mechanism and the effect of the selected anions and cations was estimated for this *** selected anions and cations promoted photodegradation of SMP by dropping the activation energy of *** estimated low activation energies of different degradation pathways of SMP with OH·radical indicate that OH·radical is a very powerful oxidizing agent for SMP degradation via attack through benzene derivative and pyridazine derivative ring.

AIM： To compare the efficacy and safety of five days apostrophe therapy of mebendazole （MBZ） versus quinacrine （QC） on human giardiasis in children.MeTHODS： A clinical trial was carried out in paediatric patients （aged 5-15 years） with confirmed symptomatic G. duodenalis mono-infection. Patients were randomly assigned to receive either MBZ [200 mg taken three times per day GRID）（n = 61）] or QC [2 mg/kg bodyweight tid （n = 61）], both for five days. Follow-up faecal samples were obtained at 3, 5 and 7 d after the end of the treatment.ReSULTS： Although the frequency of cure was higher for QC （83.6%） than for MBZ （78.7%）, the difference was not statistically significant （P 〉 0.05）. Adverse events were reported more in the QC group （P 〈 0.05）, all of them transient and self-limiting.CONCLUSION： Despite final cure rates ocurring lower than expected, the overall results of this study reconfirmed the efficacy of MBZ in giardiasis and also indicate that, although comparable to QC, at least in this setting the 5 d course of MBZ did not appear to improve the cure rates in this intestinal parasitic infection.

A New Perspective of the Physical Processes Associated with the Clear-Sky Greenhouse effect over High Latitudes

The physical processes associated with the clear-sky greenhouse effect in the presence of water vapor are examined by including surface emissivity in the greenhouse effect formulation, and by introducing a new way to partition physical processes of the greenhouse effect. In this new framework, it is found that the clear-sky greenhouse effect is governed by three physical processes associated with (1) the temperature contrast between the surface and the atmosphere, (2) the interaction between the surface emissivity and the temperature contrast, and (3) the surface emissivity. The importance of the three physical processes is assessed by computing their vertical and spectral variations far the subarctic winter and summer standard atmosphere using the radiation model MODTRAN3 (Moderate Resolution Transmittance code Version 3). The results show that the process associated with the temperature contrast between the surface and the atmosphere dominates over the other two processes in magnitude. The magnitude of this process has substantial variations in the spectral region of 1250 to 1880 cm-1 and in the far infrared region. Due to the low-level temperature inversion over the subarctic winter, there exists a negative contribution to the greenhouse trapping. The seasonal variations are, however, dominated by the processes associated with the interaction between the surface emissivity and the temperature contrast as well as the surface emissivity itself. The magnitudes of these two physical processes contributing to the greenhouse trapping over the subarctic winter are about 7 to 10 times of those over the subarctic summer, whereas the magnitude of the processes associated with the temperature contrast in the subarctic summer is only about 2 times of that in the subarctic winter.

Polypeptides and polypeptoids were widely used as biome.ical materials because of their good biocompatibility. In this work we reported a series of pH-responsive copolypeptides and polypeptide-polypeptoid block copolymers, i.e. random copolymers of L-glutamic acid （Glu） with L-leucine （Leu） [poly（Glu-r-Leu）s], as well as their block copolymers with polysarcosine （polySar）. Well-defined poly（Glu-r-Leu）s with predictable compositions and molecular weights were synthesized by ring opening polymerization of corresponding N-carboxyanhydride monomers. We investigated the relationship between hydrophilicity-hydrophobicity transition and copolymer composition. With increasing Leu fraction, both the pH value of cloud point and the micellar size increased. Poly（Glu-r-Leu） with 60% Leu exhibited a cloud point at the pH of 5.0 to 6.0 the same as that in endosome and lysosome. Poly（Glu-r-Leu）-b-polySars assembled in phosphate buffer and performed pH-responsive morphology change from orbicular micelles at high pH to worm-like micelles at low pH. They were potential pH-responsive carriers for drug and gene delivery to enhance.cargo release in cellules.

This paper focused on the evolution over time of elasticity of the cement paste during the hydration, e g, Young＇s modulus and Poisson＇s ration, by the proposed homogenization method combined the percolation algorithm with individual phase intrinsic elasticity. A cement paste development model, named ceMHYD3D, was used to establish an accurate microstructure. The modelling results are in good agreement with the experimental data and other nume.ical results available in the open literatm＇e. The suitable homogeneous scheme, applied to each level, should be carefully chosen to result in a realistic prediction. The percolation concept should aims to correctly predict the elasticity for cement paste at very early age, especially under low w/c ratios.

Most of our learning comes from other people or from our own experience. For instance, when a taxi driver is seeking passengers on an unknown road in a large city, what should the driver do？ Alternatives include cruising around the road or waiting for a time period at the roadside in the hopes of finding a passenger or just leaving for another road enroute to a destination he knows （e.g., hotel taxi rank）？ This is an interesting problem that arises everyday in cities all over the world. There could be different answers to the question poised above, but one fundamental problem is how the driver learns about the likelihood of finding passengers on a road that is new to him （as he has not picked up or dropped off passengers there before）. Our observation from large scale taxi driver trace data is that a driver not only learns from his own experience but through interactions with other drivers. In this paper, we first formally define this problem as socialized information learning （SIL）, second we propose a framework including a series of models to study how a taxi driver gathers and learns information in an uncertain environment through the use of his social network. Finally, the large scale real life data and empirical experiments confirm that our models are much more effective, efficient and scalable that prior work on this problem.

Diabetes is a global public health concern in the 21st century. According to the report in the International Diabetes Federation Diabetes Atlas in 2015, 415 million adults suffer from diabetes globally. Although considerable progress has made in the treatment of diabetes, such as insulin administration, researchers are still looking for alternative therapeutic approaches, e.g. islet transplantation from cadaveric donors, for its radical cure. However, this approach is limited due to the scarcity of donors and availability of islet cells.

The effects of adverse pressure gradient(APG)on Reynolds stresses in turbulent boundary layers(TBLs)with APG were *** difficulty of this work was attributable to the Reynolds stresses in TBLs with APG under two combined effects,i.e.:effect of upstream flow and effect of *** effect of upstream flow is an inherent effect no matter pressure gradient exists or *** individual effect was analyzed from absolute developments of Reynolds stresses in TBLs with zero pressure gradient(ZPG)*** of APG was then analyzed from absolute developments of Reynolds stresses in TBLs with *** showed that,for absolute development of mean streamwise Reynolds stresses,APG accelerated its development in TBL with ZPG;for absolute development of mean normal or shear Reynolds stresses,APG increased their magnitude in the outer part,and decreased their extent of large value region.

Self-feeding device is extensively used in aquaculture farms, but for salmonids the individual feeding behavior has seldom been continuously observed. In this article, the individual self-feeding behavior of 10 rainbow trout was continuously monitored with a PIT tag record for 50 days with three replicates. The?sh fell into three categories according to their feeding behavior, i.e. high triggering ?sh(trigger behavior more than 25% of the group, HT), low triggering ?sh(1%–25%, LT) and zero triggering ?sh(less than1%). The results showed that in a group of 10 individual 1–2 HT ?sh accounted for most of the self-feeding behavior(78.19%–89.14%), which was far more than they could consume. The trigger frequency of the?sh was signi?cantly correlated with the initial body weight( P ever, no signi?cant dif ference in growth rate among the HT, LT, and ZT ?sh was observed( P >0.05). Cosinor analysis showed that the two HT ?sh in the same group had similar acrophase. Though some of the HT ?sh could be active for 50 d, there were also HT ?sh decreased triggering behavior around 40 d and the high trigger status was then replaced by other ?sh, which was ?rst discovered in salimonds. Interestingly, the growth of the group was not af fected by the alternation triggering ?sh. These results provide evidence that in the self-feeding system the HT ?sh didn't gain much advantage by their frequent self-feeding behavior, and high trigger status of the HT ?sh is not only an individual character but also driven by the demand of the group. In the self-feeding system, the critical individual should be closely monitored.
