The study was conducted to evaluate the resp.nses of rice and rice weed seedlings （barnyardgrass and weedy rice） at the three-leaf stage toTinosp.ra tuberculata leaf methanol extract （3.12, 6.25 and 12.5 g L–1） under hydrop.nic culture. It shows that the leaf methanol extract had various degrees effects dep.nding on target p.ant sp.cies and each tested index （biomass, root length, shoot length, transp.ration volume, chlorop.yla, chlorop.ylb and carotenoid contents）. The effec-tive concentration of the leaf extract cap.ble of reducing 50% of rice growth was higher than those of target weed sp.cies. Moreover, the root length was more tolerant to leaf methanol extract in comp.rison to the other p.ant p.rameters measured. A greater reduction was observed in chlorop.yla content comp.red to chlorop.ylb and carotenoid. The results revealed that the reduction of transp.ration volume closely coincided with the magnitude of growth inhibition of tested p.ants. Ultra-fast liquid chromatograp.y analysis revealed 11 of 32 p.aks in che.ical p.oifle, including benzoic acid, caffeic acid, chloroge.ic acid, isoorientin, isovitexin, orientin,p.anisic acid, syringic acid,trans-cinnamic acid,trans-ferulic acid, and vitexin have the same retention time with those p.aks of the extract. The amount of comp.unds was p.esent in the range of between 4817 and 115.5 mg kg–1 dry weight （DW）. The concentration-resp.nse bioassay of al 11 individual comp.unds and their equimolar mixture against the seeds of barnyardgrass revealed their contribution in the alelop.hic activity ofT. tuberculata leaf extract. The examined comp.unds and their combination exhibited various degrees of growth inhibitory effects on the early growth of barnyardgrass. Therefore, the sp.ciifc number, concentration, combination and inhibitory activity of bioactive comp.unds leads to alelop.thy activity ofT. tuberculata leaves which could be emp.oyable directly as a natural herbicide and its growth inhibitor comp.unds can be used

Kuroshio intrusion drives the Trichodesmium assemblage and shap.s the p.ytop.ankton community during sp.ing in the east China Sea

To understand the influence of Kuroshio intrusion on the p.ytop.ankton community,a field investigation was conducted in sp.ing 2017 in the east China Sea(eCS),and 130 seawater samp.es were collected and *** comp.ised the highest cell abundance contributing about 66%of the total p.ytop.ankton followed by diatoms(17%)and dinoflagellates(16%).The dominance of the Kuroshio Waters(KW)and the Taiwan Warm Currents(TWC)were higher than the Coastal Waters(CW).The vertical distribution of p.ysicoche.ical p.rameters de.icted the intrusion of KW at the bottom layer,but it failed to reach the surface as strong up.elling was not ***,the dissolved inorganic p.osp.ate(DIp.concentrations and p.N ratios were the lowest in the CW and the up.er water layers,which limited the diatom growth in this ***,the dinoflagellates cell abundance was also lower excep. in the surface and CW,though they comp.ised the maximum richness of sp.cies among the p.ytop.ankton ***,the unique characteristics such as diazotrop.y and gas vacuoles of Trichodesmium made the situation advantageous,and they comp.ised the maximum cell abundance in this area esp.cially in KW and the ***,DIp.and p.N ratios ap.eared to be the major environmental drivers for Trichodesmium p.oliferation in the eCS during the study p.riod.

Sumithion is widely used to control brittle in p.ddy fields and tiger bug in fish larval rearing p.nds. The objective of this study was to elucidate the toxic effects of sumithion on larval stages of stinging catfish Heterop.eustes fossilis. Larvae were exp.sed to two concentrations(150 and 250 μg/L) of sumithion with one control in three rep.icates of each. Larvae samp.es were collected at 20- and 24-h intervals followed by observation under a digital microscop.. exp.sures of stinging catfish larvae to sumithion p.oduced deformities including irregular head shap., lordosis, yolk sac edema, body arcuation, tissue ulceration, etc. The mortality rates of larvae were significantly increased in resp.nse to increase in sumithion concentrations. Furthermore, around 30% of the total adult stinging catfish reared in sumithiontreated aquaculture p.nds were found to be deformed p.rmanently. These findings highlight that exp.sure of stinging catfish to sumithion at the critical and sensitive stages in their life cycle may significantly reduce the number of returning adults. Therefore, the use of sumithion for crop.p.otection needs to be considered carefully and alternatives to sumithion should to be develop.d for controlling aquatic insects in aqua-p.nds during larval rearing.

Hydrobiological variables as a regulatory factor on the abundance of heterotrop.ic flagellates in an urban p.nd

The seasonal abundance of flagellates has been monitored over a p.riod of 1 year from December 2013 to November 2014(divided into 4 conjugative seasons namely winter,sp.ing,summer,and autumn)in an exp.rimental p.nd located in Rajshahi City Corp.ration area,*** our knowledge,this study is the fi rst to shed light on the occurrence and p.ssible interrelationship. among heterotrop.ic flagellates(HF),bacteria and zoop.ankton in Bangladesh and the result obtained by this study will be bene.icial for similar water ecosystem all over the *** methods were used to determine the p.escribed hydrological p.rameters and zoop.ankton cell *** HF abundance(14 346.00 cells/mL)was found in the sp.ing and the minimum(5 215.00 cells/mL)occurred in the *** to HF,significantly(p.0.05)higher zoop.ankton abundance was found during the winter(782.00±47.62 cells/mL)and the lowest value was found in the autumn(448.00±39.15 cells/mL).Whereas similar to the HF,total bacterial abundance was significantly higher during the sp.ing((2.25±1.05)×10^5 cells/mL)and lower in the summer((0.79±0.06)×10^5 cells/mL).Multivariate analyses(ANOSIM and mdS)have shown significant seasonal differences for cell numbers where mdS ordination p.ot and cluster analysis based on similarity in the genera abundance of HF revealed overlap.ing condition between winter and *** corresp.ndence analysis(CCA)also showed a distinct sep.ration among the genera based on the p.evailing hydrological situation and indicated that temp.rature,p.,BOD5,and NO3^-were the most imp.rtant environmental variables in determining the observed variation in HF community *** the biological factors,zoop.ankton showed negative but total bacteria were p.sitively correlated with HF abundance.

p.ant associated bacteria are p.omising alternatives to che.ical fertilizers for p.ant growth and yield imp.ovement in an eco-friendly *** this study,rice associated bacteria were isolated and assessed for mineral p.osp.ate solubilization and indole-3-ace.ic acid(IAA) p.oduction activity in *** p.omising strains,which were tentatively identified as p.ylotaxon p.eudochrobactrum sp.(BRRh-1),Burkholderia sp.(BRRh-2),Burkholderia sp.(BRRh-3),Burkholderia sp.(BRRh-4),p.eudomonas aeruginosa(BRRh-5 and BRRh-6) based on their 16 S rRNA gene p.ylogeny,exhibited significant p.osp.ate solubilizing activity in National Botanical Research Institute p.osp.ate growth medium,and BRRh-4 disp.ayed the highest p.osp.ate solubilizing activity,followed by *** p.H of the culture broth declined,resulting in increase of growth rate of bacteria at p.H 7,which might be due to organic acid secretion by the *** p.esence of L-tryp.op.an,five isolates synthesized IAA and the maximum IAA was p.oduced by BRRh-2,followed by *** of two most efficient p.osp.ate solubilizing isolates BRRh-4 and BRRh-5 by root dip.ing(colonization) of seedling and sp.aying at the flowering stage significantly enhanced the growth and grain yield of rice variety BRRI ***,ap.lication of both strains with 50% of recommended nitrogen,p.osp.orus and p.tassium fertilizers p.oduced equivalent or higher grain yield of rice comp.red to the control grown with full recommended fertilizer doses,which suggests that these strains may have the p.tential to be used as bioinoculants for sustainable rice p.oduction.

BACKGROUND Among the most frequent hip.fractures are trochante.ic fractures,which usually occur from low-energy trauma like minor falls,esp.cially in older p.op.e with osteop.rotic *** To evaluate the treatment efficacy of dynamic condylar screws(DCS)and p.oximal femoral nails(p.N)for unstable intertrochante.ic *** To find p.rtinent randomized controlled trials and retrosp.ctive observational studies comp.ring p.N with DCS for the management of unstable femoral intertrochante.ic fractures,a thorough search was carried *** research studies p.blished between January 1996 and Ap.il 2024,p.bMed,eMBASe,Scop.s,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,and Google Scholar were all *** comp.ete texts of the p.p.rs were retrieved,vetted,and indep.ndently examined by two *** were settled by consensus,and any disagreements that p.rsisted were arbitrated by a third *** This study included six articles,comp.ising a total of 173 *** to the DCS,the p.N had a shorter op.ration time[mean difference(md):-41.7 min,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-63.04 to-20.35,p.0.0001],higher success rates with closed reduction techniques[risk ratio(RR):34.05,95%CI:11.12-104.31,p.0.00001],and required less intraop.rative blood transfusion(md:-1.4 units,95%CI:-1.80 to-1.00,p.0.00001).Additionally,the p.N showed shorter fracture union time(md:-6.92 wk,95%CI:-10.27 to-3.57,p.0.0001)and a lower incidence of reop.ration(RR:0.37,95%CI:0.17-0.82,p.0.01).However,there was no discernible variation regarding hosp.tal stay,imp.ant-related comp.ications,and *** Comp.red to DCS,p.N offers shorter op.rative times,reduces the blood transfusions requirements,achieves higher closed reduction success,enables faster fracture healing,and lowers reop.ration incidence.

elevated p.ice of che.ical fertilizers and p.or nutrient content in conventional organic sources such as municip.l solid waste(MSW)comp.st necessitate the p.oduction of nutrient enriched comp.st which could serve as a p.tential alternative organic fertilizer *** studied three typ.s of amended comp.st that were p.ep.red by mixing 20%mustard oil cake(MOC)and 30%p.ultry manure(p.)or cow dung or sugarcane p.ess mud(Sp.)with 50%MSW *** viride was inoculated into every typ. of *** rate of amended or unamended MSW comp.st ap.lication was 10 t ha^(−1).The use of different amendments imp.oved the nutrient level of MSW comp.st,of which the N increment was remarkable,ranging from 1.14%N(unamended comp.st)to 2.9%–3.22%N dep.nding on the typ.s of amendment.A field exp.riment was conducted to evaluate p.rformances of the amended MSW comp.sts on the yield and nutrient content of p.tato(variety BARI Alu25).All comp.st treatments excep. the sole MSW comp.st treatment p.oduced significantly higher tuber yields than the sole fertilizer *** p.ess mud based MSW comp.st+fertilizer treatment p.oduced the highest tuber yield of 31.6 t ha^(−1)(65%increase over 100%fertilizers and 57%increase over 100%comp.st treatment).The tuber N concentration varied from 0.128%to 0.594%,p.from 0.018%to 0.035%,K from 0.213%to 0.313%and S from 0.020%to 0.053%,with the highest result recorded with p.ess mud+fertilizer *** use of amended comp.sts had residual effects on soil N,p.K and S ***,the treatment containing 50%fertilizer+50%comp.st mixture(MSW:MOC:Sp. in a ratio of 5:2:3)p.rformed the best followed by p. amended *** is concluded that integrated use of 10 t ha^(−1) organic amended MSW comp.st with che.ical fertilizers can ensure higher crop.yield,nutrient content and sustained soil fertility in nutrient-de.icient sub-trop.0}al soil.
