Highly Defective Dark TiO_(2) Modified with Pt: effects of Precursor Nature and Preparation Method on Photocatalytic Properties

The study focused on the modification with platinum of dark defective titania obtained via pulsed laser ablation. Both the method of Pt introduction and the nature of the Pt precursor were varied. All samples exhibited similar phase compositions, specific surface areas, and Pt contents. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy coupled with pulsed CO adsorption revealed increased dispersity when photoreduction and the hydroxonitrate complex (Me _(4) N) _(2) [Pt _(2) (OH) _(2) (NO _(3) ) _(8) ] were used. The sample featured a high content of single-atom species and subnano-sized Pt clusters. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results showed that the photoreduction method facilitated the appearance of a larger number of Pt ^(2+) states, which appeared owing to the strong metal-support interaction (SMSi) eff ect of the transfer of electron density from the electron-saturated defects on the TiO _(2) surface to Pt ^(4+) . in the hydrogen evolution reaction, samples with a significant fraction of the Pt ^(2+) ionic component, capable of generating short-lived Pt^(0) single-atom sites under irradiation due to the SMSi eff ect, exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity. The 0.5Pt(C)/TiO_(2) -Ph sample exhibited the highest hydrogen yield with a quantum efficiency of 0.53, retaining its activity even after 8 h of operation.

Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma: A Case Report

Background: Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma (CMN) is a mesenchymal renal tumour of early life. With a median diagnosis of two months and over 90% of cases occurring within the first year of life, it is the most prevalent non-Wilms’ renal tumour. even though imaging can be used as a diagnosing tool, it is frequently identified in the neonatal period when the baby has an abdominal mass. There are three different histologic types: mixed, cellular, and classic. Radical nephrectomy is the usual mode of treatment, though adjuvant chemotherapy may be necessary for the cellular type, which may be aggressive. Case presentation: We report on a case of a 2-day-old term male neonate born to a 27-year-old mother through spontaneous vertex delivery (SVD). He presented with a right-sided abdominal mass from birth. An abdominal ultrasound scan revealed a huge, well-circumscribed heterogeneous soft tissue mass in the right hemi-abdomen extending to the left side, measuring 10.2 cm by 8.0 cm. He underwent a right radical nephrectomy with a tumour weight of 450 g and a size of 18 cm × 15 cm × 6 cm. Histopathological diagnosis was Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma (cellular type) Stage 1. Conclusion: Any infant with a renal tumour should be evaluated for congenital mesoblastic nephroma. Detailed investigation and complete resection are fundamental for ensuring an excellent outcome.

Machine learning has been widely used for solving partial differential equations(PDes)in recent years,among which the random feature method(RFM)exhibits spectral accuracy and can compete with traditional solvers in terms of both accuracy and ***,the optimization problem in the RFM is more difficult to solve than those that arise in traditional *** the broader machine-learning research,which frequently targets tasks within the low-precision regime,our study focuses on the high-precision regime crucial for solving *** this work,we study this problem from the following aspects:(i)we analyze the coeffcient matrix that arises in the RFM by studying the distribution of singular values;(ii)we investigate whether the continuous training causes the overfitting issue;(ii)we test direct and iterative methods as well as randomized methods for solving the optimization *** on these results,we find that direct methods are superior to other methods if memory is not an issue,while iterative methods typically have low accuracy and can be improved by preconditioning to some extent.
