The concepts of business continuity management,operational resilience,and organizational resilience each refer to actions that businesses and organizations can take in anticipating and responding to ***,the existing definitions and usages are difficult to differentiate due to overlapping objectives,implementation processes,and *** article examines definitions and approaches for these three concepts and suggest a framework to operationalize methods and tools relevant to *** definitions emphasize three dyads:risk versus resilience;organizational processes versus assets;and normal operating conditions versus crisis *** these dyads to differentiate the concepts of business continuity management,operational resilience,and organizational resilience can support planners in clarifying objectives and identifying which approach will be most beneficial as businesses or organizations plan for and encounter *** article evaluates these concepts by examining illustrative examples of disruptions and responses.

Understanding the role of ectomycorrhizal fungi in plant communities is hampered by a lack of knowledge about fungal *** barcoding of the ectomycorrhizal fungal genus Cortinarius was used to compare fungal diversity in soil from four plant communities:(i)Nothofagus forest(where Cortinarius is common and diverse),(ii)Kunzea forest(where Cortinarius is present but with low diversity),(iii)a Pinus radiata plantation(Cortinarius is not thought to be present)and(iv)a sub-Antarctic island(where known ectomycorrhizal hosts are absent).PCR primers specific for the ITS region of Cortinarius species were *** was tested in vitro and in silico against DNA from basidiocarps of Cortinarius and non-Cortinarius *** primers were tested for their ability to amplify Cortinarius DNA in soil from forests of the three ectomycorrhizal forest communities and a range of soils from the ectomycorrhiza-free subantarctic Campbell *** diversity of Cortinarius was associated with soil of all three ectomycorrhizal communities,despite Cortinarius being previously unrecorded from *** from all three communities share some ectomycorrhizal fungi(including fungi shared between native and exotic hosts),having implications for community succession,introduction of exotic fungi and biodiversity *** Cortinarius was detected from Campbell Island *** validated molecular protocol assessed species diversity in a rapid and cost effective *** biodiversity assessment based on DNA barcoding is more effective at detecting diversity than traditional methods,but requires careful consideration of the difference between ectomycorrhizal fungal diversity in soil versus root-tips.

A new term was added to the well-known semi-empirical mass formula to account for the changes due to gravitational attraction between nucleons in the liquid drop, as well as, accommodates for the necessary corrections in the binding energy of a nucleus. The results of our calculations show a straight forward evidence that the gravitational attraction bears a reasonable contribution to the binding energy. On the other hand, employing the gravitational term in the semi empirical mass formula was led to the calculation of gravitational constant at subnuclear level.

BACKGROUND An in vitro injury model mimicking a corneal surface injury was optimised using human corneal epithelial cells(hCeC).AIM To investigate whether corneal-stroma derived stem cells(CSSC) seeded on an amniotic membrane(AM) construct manifests an anti-inflammatory, healing *** Treatment of hCeC with ethanol and pro-inflammatory cytokines were compared in terms of viability loss, cytotoxicity, and pro-inflammatory cytokine release, in order to generate the in vitro injury. This resulted in an optimal injury of 20%(v/v) ethanol for 30 s with 1 ng/mL interleukin-1(IL-1) beta. Co-culture experiments were performed with CSSC alone and with CSSC-AM *** effect of injury and co-culture on viability, cytotoxicity, IL-6 and IL-8 production, and IL1 B, TNF, IL6, and CXCL8 mRNA expression were *** Co-culture with CSSC inhibited loss of hCeC viability caused by injury. enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and polymerase chain reaction showed a significant reduction in the production of IL-6 and IL-8 pro-inflammatory cytokines, and reduction in pro-inflammatory cytokine mRNA expression during co-culture with CSSC alone and with the AM construct. These results confirmed the therapeutic potential of the CSSC and the possible use of AM as a cell carrier for application to the ocular *** CSSC were shown to have a potentially therapeutic anti-inflammatory effectwhen treating injured hCeC, demonstrating an important role in corneal regeneration and wound healing, leading to an improved knowledge of their potential use for research and therapeutic purposes.

Aims Forest vegetation variability may be explained by the complex inter-play among several spatial structuring factors,including climate and *** modelled the spatial variability of forest vegetation assemblages and significant environmental variables along a com-plex environmental gradient or coenocline to produce a detailed cartographic database portraying the distribution of forests along *** We combined an analysis of ordination coenoclines with kriging over 772 field data plots from the third Spanish National Forest Inventory in an Atlantic-Mediterranean transitional area(northern Spain).Important Findings The best fitted empirical semivariogram revealed a strong spatial structure of forest species composition along the complex envi-ronmental gradient considered(the climatic-topographic gradient from north to south).The steady and gradual increase of semivari-ance with a marked lag distance indicates a gradual turnover of forest assemblages according to the climatic-topographic vari-ations(regional or local).Two changes in the slope of the semi-variogram suggest the existence of two different scales of spatial *** interpolation map by Kriging of forest vegetation assemblages along the main coenocline shows a clear spatial dis-tribution pattern of trees and shrubs in accordance with the spa-tial variation of significant environmental *** concluded that the multivariate geostatistical approach is a suitable technique for spatial analysis of forest systems employing data from national forest inventories based on a regular network of field *** development of an assortment of maps describing changes in veg-etation assemblages and variation in environmental variables is expected to be a suitable tool for an integrated forest management and planning.

The thermal conductivity ofε-iron at high pressure and high temperature is a key parameter to constrain the dynamics and thermal evolution of the earth’s *** this work,we use first-principles calculations to study the Hugoniot sound velocity and the thermal transport properties ofε-*** total thermal conductivity considering lattice vibration is 200 W/mK at the earth’s inner core *** suppressed anharmonic interactions can significantly enhance the lattice thermal conductivity under high pressure,and the contribution of the lattice thermal conductivity should not be ignored under the earth’s core conditions.

为打破二穗短柄草种子的休眠,对二穗短柄草种子进行了6种类型的处理:(1)不切割;(2)切掉胚乳1/4;(3)切掉胚乳1/2;(4)在背对胚的一面划一不伤及胚的裂缝;5)切掉胚乳3/4;6)全部切掉胚乳,只剩下胚,以探索各处理对种子休眠的影响。切割种子是打破二穗短柄草种子休眠的有效方法。方差分析显示,不同切割处理对打破种子休眠有着显著的差异,其萌发率的高低顺序为(6)>(5)>(4)>(3)>(2)>(1)。种子休眠被打破的难易,与种子切割点到胚的相对距离以及切割后剩下部分的百分比皆成负相关关系。分析表明,在自然条件下部分地损伤种子的胚乳,可以增加种子萌发的几率。作为模式植物,二穗短柄草的休眠特性对进一步研究植物种子的休眠机理很有意义。
