High throughput sequencing unravels tomato-pathogen interactions towards a sustainable plant breeding

Tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)is one of the most economically important vegetables throughout the *** is one of the best studied cultivated dicotyledonous plants,often used as a model system for plant research into classical genetics,cytogenetics,molecular genetics,and molecular *** plants are affected by different pathogens such as viruses,viroids,fungi,oomycetes,bacteria,and nematodes,that reduce yield and affect product *** study of tomato as a plant-pathogen system helps to accelerate the discovery and understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying disease resistance and offers the opportunity of improving the yield and quality of their edible *** use of functional genomics has contributed to this purpose through both traditional and recently developed techniques,that allow the identification of plant key functional genes in susceptible and resistant responses,and the understanding of the molecular basis of compatible interactions during pathogen ***-generation sequencing technologies(NGS),which produce massive quantities of sequencing data,have greatly accelerated research in biological sciences and offer great opportunities to better understand the molecular networks of plant–pathogen *** this review,we summarize important research that used high-throughput RNA-seq technology to obtain transcriptome changes in tomato plants in response to a wide range of pathogens such as viruses,fungi,bacteria,oomycetes,and *** findings will facilitate genetic engineering efforts to incorporate new sources of resistance in tomato for protection against pathogens and are of major importance for sustainable plant-disease management,namely the ones relying on the plant’s innate immune mechanisms in view of plant breeding.

Relaxant effect and possible mechanism of 17-nor-subincanadine e in rabbit corpora cavernosa

Compounds with dual action on cyclic adenosine monophosphate （cAMP） and cyclic guanosine monophosphate （cGMP） may be a treatment option for erectile dysfunction, as they not only promote penile erection but also prevent the upregulation of phosphodiesterase-5. in this study, we examined the possible relaxant effect and mechanism of 17-nor-subincanadine e （SeC, 0.2-200 pmol i^-1）, a plant-derived alkaloid, in rabbit corpus cavernosum （RbCC） strips that had been precontracted by exposure to phenylephrine （10 pmol i^- 1） or a high concentration of K＋（60 mmol i^- 1） in vitro. in addition to SeC＇s effect on cAMP and cGMP levels, electrical field stimulation （eFS） in phenylephrine-precontracted RbCC and calcium chloride （1-100 mmol i^-1） evoked responses in depolarized RbCC were analysed. SeC relaxed the phenylephrine-precontracted RbCCs in a concentration-dependent manner. Atropine, guanethidine and N-co-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester （L-NAMe） did not have any effect on the relaxation of RBCCs. When 1H-1,2,4oxadiazole[4,3-a] quinoxalin-1-one （ODQ） was added, it effectively blocked the relaxant response of SeC. Although SeC enhanced the maximal relaxation produced by sodium nitroprusside （SNP） and forskolin in phenylephrine-precontracted cavernosal smooth muscle, it caused a decrease in the maximal contractile response induced by calcium chloride in depolarized RbCCs. The relaxant effect of SeC was paralleled by an increase in the tissue levels of the Cyclic nucleotides cAMP and cGMP. We conclude that SeC promotes the relaxation of RbCC, possibly favouring cAMP and cGMP accumulation and calcium blockade. This novel mechanism could be useful for patients who do not benefit from phosphodiesterase inhibitors and for those with endothelial and nitrergic dysfunction, such as patients with diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidaemias.

ecogeomorphic Feedbacks in Semiarid Rangelands:A Review

The ecogeomorphic processes occurring on semiarid rangelands are reviewed, with emphasis on the source-sink relations and positive feedback loops that existed between shrub patches and intershrub areas, and the way livestock presence affected these interactions. Compared with intershrub areas, the shrub patches had a higher soil porosity, infiltration capacity, water-holding capacity, hydraulic conductivity, structural stability, and organic matter content, and lower bulk density. These differences derived from a host of processes whose intensity was less in the shrub patches, including raindrop impact, mechanical crust formation, overland water flow, soil erosion, evaporative moisture loss, and flock trampling. There was also greater shading of the soil surface; soil and litter deposition; water accumulation; microbial, fungal, and mesofaunal activities in the shrub patches. The overland flow of water carried soil and litter from the intershrub areas to the shrub patches and resulted in microtopographic modifications that tended to strengthen these source-sink relations. Grazing had an impact on these processes, not only at the shrub-intershrub scale but also within the intershrub areas, through the creation of highly compacted trampling routes. The combined role of the above ecogeomorphic processes was to maintain the rangeland＇s functionality. Without these inter-relationships, water loss, soil erosion, and nutrient depletion would occur at the hillside scale, causing degradation of the landscape.

Changes in Soil Salinity in the ekhiin-Gol Oasis(Mongolia)According to Monitoring Data of 1977 and 2001

The trend towards miniaturization has increased dramatically over the last decade, especially within the fields concerned with bioengineering, microelectronics, and aerospace. Micromillin8 is among the principal manu- facturing processes which have allowed the development of components possessing micrometric dimensions, being used to the manufacture of both forming tools and the final product. The aim of this work is to present the principal aspects related to this technology, with emphasis on the work material requirements, tool ma- terials and geometry, cutting forces and temperature, quality of the finished product, process modelling and monitoring and machine tool requirements. it can be noticed that size effect possesses a relevant role with regard to the selection of both work material （grain size） and tooling （edge radius）. Low forces and temper- ature are recorded during micromillin8, however, the specific cutting force may reach high values because of the ploughing effect observed as the uncut chip thickness is reduced. Finally, burr formation is the principal concern with regard to the quality of the finished part.

MiMO performance enhancement of MiMO arrays using PCS-based near-field optimization technique

extensive efforts have been made in designing large multiple-input multiple-output(MiMO)arrays. Nevertheless, improvements in conventional antenna characteristics cannot ensure significant MiMO performance improvement in realistic multipath environments. Array decorrelation techniques have been proposed, achieving correlation reductions by either tilting the antenna beams or shifting the phase centers away from each other. Hence, these methods are mainly limited to MiMO terminals with small arrays. To avoid such problems, this work proposes a decorrelation optimization technique based on phase correcting surface(PCS)that can be applied to large MiMO arrays, enhancing their MiMO performances in a realistic(non-isotropic)multipath environment. First, by using a near-field channel model and an optimization algorithm, a near-field phase distribution improving the MiMO capacity is obtained. Then the PCS(consisting of square elements)is used to cover the array’s aperture, achieving the desired near-field phase *** examples demonstrate the effectiveness of this PCS-based near-field optimization technique. One is a1 × 4 dual-polarized patch array(working at 2.4 GHz)covered by a 2 × 4 PCS with 0.6λ center-to-center distance. The other is a 2 × 8 dual-polarized dipole array, for which a 4 × 8 PCS with 0.4λ center-to-center distance is designed. Their MiMO capacities can be effectively enhanced by 8% and 10% in single-cell and multi-cell scenarios, respectively. The PCS has insignificant effects on mutual coupling, matching, and the average radiation efficiency of the patch array, and increases the antenna gain by about 2.5 dB while keeping broadside radiations to ensure good cellular coverage, which benefits the MiMO performance of the *** proposed technique offers a new perspective for improving large MiMO arrays in realistic multipath in a statistical sense.

Coherent States and a Path integral for the Relativistic Linear Singular Oscillator

The SU（1,1） coherent states for a relativistic model of the linear singular oscillator are considered. The corresponding partition function is evaluated. The path integral for the transition amplitude between SU（1,1） coherent states is given. Classical equations of the motion in the generalized curved phase space are obtained. it is shown that the use of quasiclassical Bohr Sommerfeld quantization rule yields the exact expression for the energy spectrum.
