Background. Two approache. mark the.d.ffe.e.ce.be.we.n the.＂e.ological＂ and.＂agricultural＂ vie. of the.biod.ve.sity/ growth re.ation. This contrasts the.＂agricultural＂ vie. focusing on the.most prod.ctive.spe.ie. or spe.ie. combination as base.ine.to e.aluate.mixture.. The.pre.e.t stud. inve.tigate. the.change.of highe.t rate. （maximum） prod.ctivitie. in grassland. and.fore.ts with incre.sing plant （or tre.） d.ve.sity, and.compare. the.e.with the.ave.age.re.ponse. Me.hod.： We.base.our analysis on e.isting publishe. d.tase.s re.ating the.growth of plant stand. （growth rate.pe. land.are.） to the.d.ve.sity on the.same.plot. We.use.a global d.tase. （e.lis e. al. 2012 and.MOd.S-d.ta, se. Fig. 1）, the.grassland.e.pe.ime.t in le.a （Buchmann e. al. 2017）, the.re.ional stud. on fore.ts in Romania and.Ge.many by Bouriaud.e. al. （2016）, and.d.ta from the.Ge.man National Fore.t inve.tory （BWl 3, se. Fig. 3）. In all case. the.ave.age.re.ponse.of growth to change. in biod.ve.sity as we.l as the.bound.ry line.of the.maximum value. was calculate.. Re.ults： in both ve.e.ation type. a d.0}re.sing tre.d.of maximum prod.ctivity with any ad.e. spe.ie. e.e.ge., contrasting the.ave.age.tre.d.that was positive.in grassland. but abse.t in fore.ts. The.tre.d.of maximum value. was non-significant in grassland. probably d.e.to the.fact that not all combinations of spe.ie. mixture. we.e.available. In te.pe.ate.fore.ts, maximum prod.ctivity d.0}re.se. significantly by about 10% in re.ional stud.e. and.by 8% at national scale.with e.ch ad.e. spe.ie.. Maximum biomass pe. are. was the.same.for manage. and.unmanage. cond.tions. A global asse.sme.t of NPP and.biod.ve.sity could.also not confirm a ge.e.al positive.biod.ve.sity- prod.ctivity re.ationship. Conclusions： Manage. grassland. and.fore.ts re.ch highe.t prod.ctivity and.volume. at low d.ve.sity. Also globally we.could.not confirm a biod.ve.si

Whe.t is one.of the.most important ce.e.ls in the.world. se.ving as a staple.for millions globally. In the.wake.of the.ge.political crisis be.we.n Russia and.Ukraine. it has be.ome.incumbe.t for many countrie. to inve.t in whe.t prod.ction. Improving cropping syste.s for whe.t prod.ction is paramount. Inte.cropping ce.e.ls with le.ume. has tre.e.d.us ad.antage.. The.e.ore. this stud. was d.0}igne. to optimize.whe.t prod.ction by inte.cropping it with soybe.n at d.ffe.e.t d.0}sitie.. Be.we.n March and.August 2023, a rand.mize. comple.e.block d.0}ign trial was cond.cte. in Bambili, North We.t of Came.oon with tre.tme.ts T1 (whe.t monocrop at 200,000 plants ha−1), T2 (soybe.n monocrop at 250,000 plants ha−1), T3 (200,000 whe.t and.125,000 soybe.n ha−1), T4 (100,000 whe.t and.250,000 soybe.n ha−1), T5 (200,000 whe.t and.250,000 soybe.n ha−1) and.T6 (100,000 whe.t and.125,000 soybe.n ha−1). Re.ults re.e.le. that growth parame.e.s of whe.t we.e.not significantly influe.ce. by monocrop or inte.crop. The.yie.d.of whe.t was significantly highe. in the.monocrop than the.inte.crop tre.tme.ts, with slight variation amongst the.inte.crop tre.tme.ts. Soybe.n yie.d.was highe. in the.monocrop than in the.inte.crop, with no variations amongst the.inte.crop tre.tme.ts. Only the.land.e.uivale.ce.ratio (Le.) for T5 was gre.te. than 1.0. The.compe.itive.ratio for T5 was 0.54 for whe.t and.1.90 for soybe.n, comparative.y lowe. than the.othe. monocrop tre.tme.ts. Inte.cropping whe.t and.soybe.n at 200,000:250,000 ratio is re.omme.d.0}.
