Analysis of the role of dihydromyricetin derived from vine tea(Ampelopsis grossedentata)on multiple myeloma by activating STAT1/RIG-I axis

Multiple myeloma(MM)is a plasma cell malignancy and remains incurable as it lacks effective curative approaches;thus,novel therapeutic strategies are desperately *** study aimed to explore the therapeutic role of dihydromyricetin(DHM)in MM and explore its *** MM and normal plasma samples,human MM cell lines,and normal plasma cells were used for in vitro *** counting kit-8(CCK-8),flow cytometry,and trans-well assays were performed for the assessment of cell viability,apoptosis,migration,and invasion,*** real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)was employed to assess the mRNA expression of signal transducer and activator of transcription 1(STAT1)and retinoic acid-inducible gene I(RIG-I).Western blotting was employed to assess e-cadherin,N-cadherin,signal transducer,STAT1,p-STAT1,and RIG-I protein expression.A tumor xenograft model was used for in vivo ***,dihydromyricetin(DHM)dose-dependently restrained viability,apoptosis,migration,and invasion,and facilitated apoptosis of U266 *** DHM treatment,the ecadherin level was increased and the N-cadherin level was decreased in U266 and RPMI-8226 cells,suggesting the inhibitory effects of DHM on epithelial-mesenchymal transition(eMT)in ***,the levels of p-STAT1/STAT1 and RIG-I were down-regulated in ***,the STAT1 inhibitor fludarabine undid the suppressive effect of DMH on the malignant characteristics of U266 ***,DHM inhibited MM tumor growth and eMT,and activated STAT1/RIG-I pathway in ***,this study first revealed that DHM can restrain eMT and tumor growth in MM by activating STAT1/RIG-I signaling,which provides a novel drug for the treatment of MM.

Quantifying source-sink relationships in leaf-color modified rice genotypes during grain filling

Leaf-color modification can affect canopy photosynthesis,with potential effects on rice yield and yield *** source-sink relationships through crop management is often used to improve crop *** study investigated whether and how modifying leaf color alters source-sink relationships and whether current crop cultivation practices remain applicable for leaf-color modified *** collected data of total biomass and nitrogen(N)accumulation in rice genotypes of four genetic backgrounds and their leaf-color modified variants(greener or yellower)were analyzed,using a recently established modelling method to quantify the source-sink(im)balance during grain *** all leaf-color variants,only one yellower-leaf variant showed a higher source capacity than its normal *** was associated with greater post-flowering N-uptake that prolonged the functional leaf-N duration,and this greater post-flowering N-uptake was possible because of reduced pre-flowering N-uptake.A density experiment showed that current management practices(insufficient planting density accompanied by abundant N application)are unsuitable for the yellower-leaf genotype,ultimately limiting its yield ***-color modification affects source-sink relationships by regulating the N trade-off between pre-and post-flowering uptake,as well as N translocation between source and sink *** best exploit leaf-color modification for improving crop productivity,adjustments of crop management practices are required.

Zinc-ion batteries are promising for large-scale electrochemical energy storage systems,which still suffer from interfacial issues,e.g.,hydrogen evolution side reaction(HeR),self-corrosion,and uncontrollable dendritic Zn *** the regulation of electric double layer(eDL)has been verified for interfacial issues,the principle to select the additive as the regulator is still ***,several typical amino acids with different characteristics were examined to reveal the interfacial behaviors in regulated eDL on the Zn *** charged acidic polarity(NCAP)has been unveiled as the guideline for selecting additive to reconstruct eDL with an inner zincophilic H_(2)O-poor layer and to replace H_(2)O molecules of hydrated Zn^(2+)with NCAP *** the synergistic effects of eDL regulation,the uncontrollable interface is significantly stabilized from the suppressed HeR and anti-self-corrosion with uniform ***,by adding NCAP glutamate,a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.83%of Zn metal is achieved in Zn|Cu asymmetrical cell for over 2000 cycles,and NH4V4O10|Zn full cell exhibits a high-capacity retention of 82.1%after 3000 cycles at 2 A g^(-1).Recapitulating,the NCAP principle posted here can quicken the design of trailblazing electrolyte additives for aqueous Zn-based electrochemical energy storage systems.

The role of vitamin e in polyunsaturated fatty acid synthesis and alleviating endoplasmic reticulum stress in sub-adult grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella)

Vitamin e(Ve) is an essential lipid-soluble vitamin that improves the fish flesh quality. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of Ve on growth performance and flesh quality in sub-adult grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella). A total of 450fish(713.53 ± 1.50 g) were randomly divided into six treatment groups(three replicates per treatment)and fed for nine weeks with different experimental diets(dietary lipid 47.8 g/kg) that contained different levels of Ve(5.44, 52.07, 96.85, 141.71, 185.66, and 230.12 mg/kg diet, supplemented as dl-a-tocopherol acetate). Notably, the treatment groups that were fed with dietary Ve ranging from 52.07 to230.12 mg/kg diet showed improvement in the percent weight gain, special growth rate, and feed efficiency of grass carp. Moreover, the treatment groups supplemented with dietary Ve level of 141.71,185.66, and 230.12 mg/kg diet showed enhancement in crude protein, lipid, and a-tocopherol contents in the muscle, and the dietary levels of Ve ranging from 52.07 to 141.71 mg/kg diet improved muscle pH24h and shear force but reduced muscle cooking loss in grass carp. Furthermore, appropriate levels of Ve(52.07 to 96.85 mg/kg diet) increased the muscle polyunsaturated fatty acid content in grass carp. Dietary Ve also increased the mRNA levels of fatty acid synthesis-related genes, including fas, scd-1, fad,elovl, srebp1, pparγ, and lxra, and up-regulated the expression of SReBP-1 protein. However, dietary Ve decreased the expression of fatty acid decomposition-related genes, including hsl, cpt1, acox1, and ppara,and endoplasmic reticulum stress-related genes, including perk, ire1, atf6, eif2a, atf4, xbp1, chop, and grp78, and down-regulated the expression of p-PeRK, p-IRe1, ATF6, and GRP78 proteins. effects of temperature and precipitation on drought trends in Xinjiang, China

The characteristics of drought in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region(Xinjiang),China have changed due to changes in the spatiotemporal patterns of temperature and precipitation,however,the effects of temperature and precipitation—the two most important factors influencing drought—have not yet been thoroughly explored in this *** this study,we first calculated the standard precipitation evapotranspiration index(SPeI)in Xinjiang from 1980 to 2020 based on the monthly precipitation and monthly average *** the spatiotemporal characteristics of temperature,precipitation,and drought in Xinjiang from 1980 to 2020 were analyzed using the Theil-Sen median trend analysis method and Mann-Kendall test.A series of SPeI-based scenario-setting experiments by combining the observed and detrended climatic factors were utilized to quantify the effects of individual climatic factor(i.e.,temperature and precipitation).The results revealed that both temperature and precipitation had experienced increasing trends at most meteorological stations in Xinjiang from 1980 to 2020,especially the spring temperature and winter *** to the influence of temperature,trends of intensifying drought have been observed at spring,summer,autumn,and annual *** addition,the drought trends in southern Xinjiang were more notable than those in northern *** 1980 to 2020,temperature trends exacerbated drought trends,but precipitation trends alleviated drought trends in *** meteorological stations in Xinjiang exhibited temperature-dominated drought trend except in winter;in winter,most stations exhibited precipitation-dominated wetting *** findings of this study highlight the importance of the impact of temperature on drought in Xinjiang and deepen the understanding of the factors influencing drought.

Dislocation density-me diate d creep ageing behavior of an Al-Cu-Li alloy

Creep aging is well-known to be a time-dependent,coupled process of deformation and precipitation strengthening for age-hardening *** existing mechanisms are mainly attributed to those interac-tions between atomic diffusion and dislocation ***,an understanding of the relationship between dislocation density and a special multistage creep behavior,i.e.,double steady creep feature,is still far *** we investigate the effect of various dislocation density levels on such an abnormal multistage creep of an Al-Cu-Li *** find that the increased dislocation densities enable an apparent time decrease(from 6.2 h to 0.8 h)of their first steadyⅡ-*** yield strength of post-aged sam-ples increases from 425.0 MPa to 580.0 MPa while the corresponding elongation decreases from 12.3%to 7.3%for the creep-aged samples#1 to#*** results also reveal that a great difference in dislocation configuration,tailored by various density levels,results in varying creep processes of theⅡ-*** stage is closely related to the nucleation and early growth of T_(1)*** number densities(maximum:2.9×10^(19)m^(-3))and the average length(maximum:21.3 nm)of T_(1)precipitates are much smaller than those of the stable peak-aged T_(1)phases,suggesting that creepⅡ-stage of all three creep-aged samples is dominant by the nucleation and initial growth of those T_(1)*** study provides valuable insights into the dislocation density-mediated creep deformation of an Al-Cu-Li alloy.

Winter-spring minimum temperature variations inferred from tree-ring δ^(13)C in southeastern China

Long-term temperature variations inferred from high-resolution proxies provide an important context to evaluate the intensity of current ***,tem-perature reconstructions in humid southeastern China are scarce and particularly lack long-term data,limiting us to obtain a complete picture of regional temperature *** this study,we present a well-verified reconstruction of winter-spring(January–April)minimum temperatures over southeastern China based on stable carbon isotopic(δ^(13)C)records of tree rings from Taxus wallichiana *** from 1860 to *** reconstruction accounted for 56.4%of the total observed *** periods occurred during the 1860s–1910s and 1960s–*** temperatures have had an upward trend since the 1920s,most of the cold extremes were in recent *** el Niño-Southern Oscillation(eNSO)variance acted as a key modulator of regional winter-spring minimum temperature ***,teleconnections between them were a nonlinear process,i.e.,a reduced or enhanced eNSO variance may result in a weakened or intensified temperature-eNSO relationship.

Performance Assessment and Improvement of Photovoltaic-Thermal System based on energy,exergy,economic and environment Analysis

A photovoltaic thermal（PV/T） system with parallel cooling channels was designed in this work to decrease the PV panel temperature and improve its photoelectric conversion efficiency.A 4e analysis method（includes energy,exergy,economic,and environmental aspects） was formulated to comprehensively evaluate the performances of the PV/T system,combining experimental and simulation ***,the experiment was performed using water as the cooling *** show that the PV/T system can reduce daily CO2emissions by 1682.47-1705.98 g,and compared to the PV system,the added cooling module can increase electrical efficiency and environmental performance by 12.19% and 6.2%,*** the mass flow of water rose from 0.017 kg/s to 0.023 kg/s,the electrical,thermal,and overall efficiencies were improved by 3.82%,11.36%,and 8.27%,***,a numerical simulation model was constructed based on the experimental results to predict operations of the presented PV/T system using nanofluids as the cooling medium,including Ag,Al2O3,and *** results show that the Al2O3-nanofluid-based PV/T system has a higher application value,enabling an electrical efficiency of up to 15.13%.Its thermal efficiency can be enhanced by5.43% when the volume fraction of Al2O3increases from 1% to 5%.

Post-earthquake rescue missions are full of challenges due to the unstable structure of ruins and successive *** of the current rescue robots lack the ability to interact with environments,leading to low rescue *** multimodal electronic skin(e-skin)proposed not only reproduces the pressure,temperature,and humidity sensing capabilities of natural skin but also develops sensing functions beyond it—perceiving object proximity and NO2 *** multilayer stacked structure based on ecoflex and organohydrogel endows the e-skin with mechanical properties similar to natural *** robots integrated with multimodal e-skin and artificial intelligence(AI)algorithms show strong environmental perception capabilities and can accurately distinguish objects and identify human limbs through grasping,laying the foundation for automated post-earthquake ***,the combination of e-skin and NO2 wireless alarm circuits allows robots to sense toxic gases in the environment in real time,thereby adopting appropriate measures to protect trapped people from the toxic *** e-skin powered by AI algorithms and hardware circuits exhibits powerful environmental perception and information processing capabilities,which,as an interface for interaction with the physical world,dramatically expands intelligent robots’application scenarios.
