AIm To evaluate risk of recidivism on a case-by-case *** From our center's liver transplant program,we selected patients with alcoholic liver disease who were listed for transplant based on Ohio Solid Organ Transplantation Consortium(OSOTC) exception *** were considered to have either a low or medium risk of recidivism,and had at least one or three or more months of abstinence,*** were matched based on gender,age,and model for End-Stage Liver Disease(mELD) score to controls with alcohol-induced cirrhosis from Organ Procurement and Transplant Network *** Thirty six patients with alcoholic liver disease were approved for listing based on OSOTC exception criteria and were matched to 72 *** patients(53%) with a median [Inter-quartile range(IQR)] mELD score of 24(13) received transplant and were followed for a median of 3.4 *** were matched to 38 controls with a median(IQR) mELD score of 25(9).At one and five years,cumulative survival rates(± standard error) were 90% ± 7% and 92% ± 5% and 73% ± 12% and 77% ± 8% in patients and controls,respectively(Log-rank test,P = 0.837).Four(21%) patients resumed drinking by last follow-up *** Compared to traditional criteria for assessment of risk of recidivism,a careful selection process with more flexibility to evaluate eligibility on a case-by-case basis can lead to similar survival rates after transplantation.

Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate in postmenopausal women whether the relationship between percentage body fat (PBF) and body mass index (BmI) differs between Asians living in Beijing (BA) and African-Americans (AA), and Caucasians (Ca) living in New York City. methods: Healthy postmenopausal women (231 BA; 113 AA, 95 Ca), aged 50-80 years, were studied. Weight, height and PBF by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) were measured. The relationship between PBF and BmI was assessed by multiple regression analysis. Results: Race, reciprocal of BmI (1/BmI) and the interaction between race and 1/BmI were all significantly (Pmple. The slope of the line relating 1/BmI to PBF was different for BA compared to AA (P=0.01) and Ca (P=0.003) while the slopes for AA and Ca were not different (P>0.05). At lower levels of BmI, Asians tended to have higher PBF comparable to AA and Ca, while at BmI >30 BA tended to have less PBF than the other groups. Conclusion: The relation between PBF and BmI in BA postmenopausal women differs from that of AA and Ca women in this sample.

目的为了验证脂肪中心性分布的人种因素；确定白人、黑人与亚洲妇女绝经后脂肪中心性分布的不同。方法横断面研究，通过双能X线吸收法测量全身与局部的脂肪含量并进行线性回归分析。募集了444名，年龄18～94岁的妇女，其中227名白人，128名黑人与89名亚洲人。通过对年龄、体重、身高与全身脂肪校正后，分析男性型与女性型脂肪的分布与躯干／四肢脂肪的比值。结果种族因素与男性型、女性型脂肪及躯干／下肢脂肪比值显著相关（P〈0．O001）。种族-绝经也发现有显著意义（P=0．028）。每一组，局部与全身脂肪水平，特别是男性型脂肪在绝经后妇女中高于绝经前妇女。而且，绝经后男性型脂肪分布在白人有显著意义（P〈0．05），但在黑人与亚洲人中无影响。结论脂肪量与其分布主要由人种决定。绝经的影响在白人中具有显著意义。

Introduction: Teenage pregnancy is a common public health problem with global estimates of 16 million teenage births yearly. It is one of the major causes of maternal and neonatal mortality worldwide with the majority of the cases seen in the low and middle-income countries. Cameroon has recorded the highest fertility rate among teenagers in the entire Central African region as of 2017. Notably, there are limited data available on assessing the awareness and prevention of teenage pregnancies among secondary and high school students in Cameroon. Thus, this study aimed at assessing the prevalence and associated factors of teenage pregnancy among secondary and high school students in the Tiko Health District, South West Region, Cameroon. methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted whereby data was collected using self-administered questionnaires from 250 systematically sampled participants from five teaching institutions in the Tiko Health District. Data was analysed using the EPI Info software, version 7.0. The study was carried out from the 15th November 2018 to the 20th of may 2019. Results: We had a total of 250 participants. The prevalence of teenage pregnancy was 5.20% (95% CI 3.34 - 9.1). A total of 47.20% (95% CI: 37.56 - 53.6) of participants were sexually active. Having multiple partners was a major risk factor for teenage pregnancy (AOR: 3.2, 95%CI: 1.75 - 4.03, P-value: 0.03). After adjusting for confounders educational level was a risk factor for the awareness of teenage pregnancy (AOR: 0.54, 95%CI: 0.30 - 0.92, P-value: 0.04). Poor communication skills, social shyness, and lack of knowledge were potential barriers to contraceptive use. Conclusion: Having multiple sexual partners was a risk factor to the prevalence of teenage pregnancy. The majority of adolescents had considerate ideas of teenage pregnancy, its prevention, and its consequences. However, a good number of them
