Barium titanate, BaTiO3 (BTO) is the most common ferro electric material, which is used to manufacture electronic components such as multilayer capacitors, positive temperature coefficient thermistors, piezo electric transdures, and ferro electric memory. Zr doped barium magnesium titanate (Ba0.9Mg1.0)(ZrxTi1-x)O3 (with x = 0.10, 0.20, 0.40 (BMZT 10, BMZT 20 and BMZT 40) perovskite is prepared by conventional solid state reaction method. The starting raw materials were BaCO3, TiO2, MgO and ZrO2. The XRD study at room temperature suggests that these have cubic and tetragonal symmetry phases. The behavior of the measured dielectric permittivity and dielectric loss with temperature and frequency reveals that the materials undergo a diffuse para-ferroelectric phase transition and are of the relaxor type. The crystal structure, surface morphology and dielectric properties of Zr and Mg doped barium titanate ceramics were investigated. Zr4+ and Mg2+ ions have entered the unit cell maintaining the perovskite structure of solid solution without the evidence of any additional phase when Mg content is 0.1 mole% and the Zr content is 0.10, 0.20 and 0.40 mole%.

背景很多研究都建立了“严重性评分”或“风险指数”来评估机械通气和死亡率，但用来预测颈椎损伤（cervicalspinelinjury，CSI）患者的预后方法却很少。因此我们的研究目的是建立一种简单床边附加评分对CSI患者的机械通气和早期住院死亡率进行评估。方法对101例已行手术治疗的外伤性CSI患者（建立组）数据进行了多变量回归分析，以确定可预测机械通气必要性和早期院内死亡率的独立预测因子。利用计算回归系数，分别为机械通气和住院死亡率建立呼吸功能不全及死亡率的预测因子（predictorsofrespiratoryinsufficiencyandmortality，PRIM）。使用受试者工作特性曲线比较预期和实测结果，来检测该预测模型的准确性。并在连续收住的87例外伤性急性CSI患者（验证组）中进行验证。结果建立组中有16．8％的患者使用了机械通气，住院死亡率为17．8％。机械通气的独立风险因子是重度损伤（美国脊柱损伤协会损伤程度分级A级和B级）、憋气时间、肺部感染、血流动力学不稳定和进行性神经系统损害。这些变量分别对应的分数为15、20、25、25和15。死亡的独立预测因子是重度损伤（美国脊柱损伤协会损伤程度分级A级和B级）、血流动力学不稳定、进行性神经系统损害和机械通气。这些变量分别对应的分数为20、20、40和20。机械通气和死亡率的PRM评分有极好的分辨力（接受者操作特征曲线下面积〉0．75）。建立组和验证组的预测和实测结果均有较好的相关性。结论PR蹦评分可以准确预测急性CSI患者使用机械通气的风险以及住院死亡率。

目的:评价大高良姜(Alpinia galanga)根茎的乙醇提取物对小鼠的镇痛作用并推断其可能的机制。方法:使用3个实验模型分别测定大高良姜根茎提取物对白化病小鼠(体质量25～30g)的镇痛作用。热板实验中,30只小鼠被分为5组,每组6只,分别给予口服3种剂量的大高良姜根茎乙醇提取物、皮下注射吗啡以及口服2%的阿拉伯树胶,记录给药30、60、90和120min后的热板实验反应时间。纳洛酮预处理热板实验中,另外30只小鼠在给予上述药物30min之前皮下注射纳洛酮,给药种类及方式同前,热板实验反应时间记录方式同前。扭体实验中,通过腹腔注射醋酸诱导小鼠产生扭体反应,随后30只小鼠被分为5组,每组6只,分别给予口服3种剂量的大高良姜根茎乙醇提取物、阿司匹林及2%的阿拉伯树胶,每只小鼠观察15min,记录扭体次数。结果:各个时间记录点的数据表明,与对照组相比,3种剂量的大高良姜根茎乙醇提取物均显著延长了热板实验中小鼠的反应时间(P<0.05,P<0.01)。经纳洛酮预处理后,实验组及阳性对照药吗啡组小鼠的热板实验反应时间较对应的前一实验中未经纳洛酮处理各组小鼠显著延长(P<0.05,P<0.01)。扭体实验中,与对照组相比,3种剂量的大高良姜根茎乙醇提取物均减少了实验小鼠的扭体次数(P<0.01)。结论:本实验证实了大高良姜根茎提取物的镇痛作用,验证了其在民族医学中治疗各种原因引起的疼痛的应用。其镇痛作用的机制可能是有效成分作用于中枢或外周神经系统。

Magnesium(Mg) and its alloys are considered as a promising candidate for various biomaterials applications. In this study, we report the effect of glycine addition to Hank’s solution on the in-vitro corrosion behavior of AZ31 magnesium alloy at 37℃ and a pH of 7.4 studied by using potentiodynamic polarization(PDP), hydrogen gas collecting techniques and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) in combination with surface characterization techniques such as scanning electron microscopy(SEM), optical microscopy(OM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis(XPS). The results reveal that the degradation behavior of AZ31 is significantly influenced by the addition of glycine through the coalesced effects of adsorption and chelation. Initially adsorbed glycine on AZ31 Mg alloy enhances the formation of apatite as it acts as an inhibitor thereby subdues the dissolution of Mg alloy. With extending the immersion time, the content of apatite decreases due to the coordination of the Ca ions from the apatite with the chelating ligands in glycine forming a soluble compound on decomposition. The chelation of glycine with Ca ions induces the formation of cracks on the film surface which further promotes the dissolution of AZ31 Mg alloy thereby forming porous corrosion products layer on the surface of the alloy. As a result, both the continuous dissolution of AZ31 magnesium alloy and the hydrogen evolution rate(HER) are enhanced with increasing the immersion time in Hank’s solution. Based on the electrochemical analysis, hydrogen evolution rate and surface morphology analysis, degradation mechanism of AZ31 magnesium alloy in the presence of glycine in Hank’s solution is proposed.

Centella asiatica (L.) is commonly known as Thankuni plant and has ethnobotanical importance in Bangladesh. Present experiment was conceded to investigate the wilt disease of C. asiatica, vegetative growth and molecular characterization of pathogenic fungi. Pathogenic fungus, Fusarium equiseti was identified as a causal agent of wilt disease in C. asiatica. The effect of culture media on the mycelial growth of F. equiseti showed the highest (89.25 mm) on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium followed by carrot agar (CA) medium and the lowest growth (40.25 mm) was measured in HA medium. The optimal temperature and pH for mycelial growth of F. equiseti were 30°C and 7, respectively. The genetic variation of the selected species of fungi, the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region was amplified using ITS4 and ITS5 primers and sequenced. The PCR product of the ITS region of F. equiseti was 535 bp. Phylogenetic tree of thirty-seven strains of Fusarium sp. based on the nucleotide sequences of the ITS region using the neighbor-joining method with 1000 bootstrapping indicated that 98% - 100% identity with MN886590.1 JUF0046 (F. equiseti). ITS sequences are generally constant, or show little variation within species, but vary between species in a genus. The ITS region is relatively short and can be easily amplified by PCR using universal single primer pairs. Genetic distance exhibited high level of similarity with identical ITS sequences. To date, no published research articles are found on the molecular identification of F. equiseti, the causal agent of fusarium wilt disease of C. asiatica in Bangladesh.

Rhodobacter sphaeroides 2.4.1 belongs to the?-3 subdivision of the Proteobacteria. It possesses a multipartite genome structure consisting of two circular chromosomes, andit displays a wide range of metabolic *** 40 flagellar proteins are required for structure, assembly, and regulation of the flagellum formation in most bacterial species. R. sphaeroidescontains two flagellar gene clusters (fla1 and fla2),which encode 38 and 21 proteins, respectively. Thirty-six of these genes exist in duplicate gene-pairs.A combination of genome analysis, phylogenetic analysis and mRNA expression analysis were employed to examine the conservation of structure, function and evolution of fla1 and fla2 in R. sphaeroides. The results demonstrated that fla2, which was shared among members of ?-Proteobacteria, is native toR. sphaeroides, while fla1 was horizontally transferred from a member of ?-*** addition, genes located in fla1 are expressed over several growth conditions, but those in fla2 are barely expressed.

A Model Study on Accelerated Consolidation of Coir Reinforced Lateritic Lithomarge Soil Blends with Vertical Sand Drains for Pavement Foundations

Sub-grade soils of lateritic origin encountered in the construction of highway embankments in various regions of India, often comprise intrusions of soft lithomargic soils that result in large settlements during constructions, and differential settlements at later stages. This necessitates the use of appropriate soil improvement techniques to improve the load-carrying capacity of pavements. This work deals with accelerated consolidation of un-reinforced and coir-rein- forced lateritic lithomargic soil blends, provided with three vertical sand drains. The load-settlement characteristics were studied for various preloads ranging from 50 kg (0.0013 N/mm2) to 500 kg (0.013N/mm2) on soil specimens prepared in circular ferro-cement moulds. It was observed that at lower preloads up to 200kg, across the blends, the relative increase in consolidation (Rct) for randomly reinforced soil with vertical drains was sig-nificantly higher than that of un-reinforced soil without vertical drains, with an average value of 124.8%. Also, the Rct for un-reinforced soil with vertical drains was quite higher than that of un-reinforced soil without vertical drains, with an average value of 103.9%. In the case of higher preloads, the Rct values for randomly reinforced soil with vertical drains were moderate with an average value of 30.88%, while the same for un-reinforced soil with vertical drains was about 20.4%. The aspect-ratio of coir fibers used was 1:275.
