A tree-based intelligence ensemble approach for spatial prediction of potential groundwater

the objective of this research is to propose and confirm a new machine learning approach of Best-First tree(BFtree),AdaBoost(AB),MultiBoosting(MB),and Bagging(Bag)ensembles for potential groundwater mapping and assessing role of influencing *** Yasuj-Dena area(Iran)is selected as a case *** this regard,a Yasuj-Dena database was established with 362 springs locations and 12 groundwater-influencing factors(slope,aspect,elevation,stream power index(SPI),length of slope(LS),topographic wetness index(tWI),topographic position index(tPI),land use,lithology,distance from fault,distance from river,and rainfall).the database was employed to train and validate the proposed groundwater *** area under the curve(AUC)and statistical metrics were employed to check and confirm the quality of the *** result shows that the BFtree-Bag model(AUC=0.810,kappa=0.495)has the highest prediction performance,followed by the BFtree-MB model(AUC=0.785,kappa=0.477),and the BFtree-MB model(AUC=0.745,kappa=0.422).Compared to the benchmark of Random Forests,the BFtree-Bag model performs better;therefore,we conclude that the BFtree-Bag is a new tool should be used for modeling of groundwater potential.

Polypropylene(PP) fibres have primarily used to control shrinkage cracks or mitigate explosive spalling in concrete structures exposed to fire or subjected to impact/blast loads, with limited investigations on capacity improvement. this study unveils the possibility of using PP micro-fibres to improve the impact behaviour of fibre-reinforced ultra-high-performance concrete(FRUHPC) columns. Results show that the addition of fibres significantly improves the impact behaviour of FRUHPC columns by shifting the failure mechanism from brittle shear to favourable flexural failure. the addition of steel or PP fibres affected the impact responses differently. Steel fibres considerably increased the peak impact force(up to 18%) while PP micro-fibres slightly increased the peak(3%-4%). FRUHPC significantly reduced the maximum midheight displacement by up to 30%(under 20°impact) and substantially improved the displacement recovery by up to 100%(under 20° impact). FRUHPC with steel fibres significantly improved the energy absorption while those with PP micro-fibres reduced the energy absorption, which is different from the effect of PP-macro fibre reported in the literature. the optimal fibre content for micro-PP fibres is 1% due to its minimal fibre usage and low peak and residual displacement. this study highlights the potential of FRUHPC as a promising material for impact-resistant structures by creating a more favourable flexural failure mechanism, enhancing ductility and toughness under impact loading, and advancing the understanding of the role of fibres in structural performance.

Improving the accuracy of flood prediction and mapping is crucial for reducing damage resulting from flood *** this study,we proposed and validated three ensemble models based on the Best First Decision tree(BFt)and the Bagging(Bagging-BFt),Decorate(Bagging-BFt),and Random Subspace(RSS-BFt)ensemble learning techniques for an improved prediction of flood susceptibility in a spatially-explicit manner.A total number of 126 historical flood events from the Nghe An Province(Vietnam)were connected to a set of 10 flood influencing factors(slope,elevation,aspect,curvature,river density,distance from rivers,flow direction,geology,soil,and land use)for generating the training and validation *** models were validated via several performance metrics that demonstrated the capability of all three ensemble models in elucidating the underlying pattern of flood occurrences within the research area and predicting the probability of future flood *** on the Area Under the receiver operating characteristic Curve(AUC),the ensemble Decorate-BFt model that achieved an AUC value of 0.989 was identified as the superior model over the RSS-BFt(AUC=0.982)and Bagging-BFt(AUC=0.967)models.A comparison between the performance of the models and the models previously reported in the literature confirmed that our ensemble models provided a reliable estimate of flood susceptibilities and their resulting susceptibility maps are trustful for flood early warning systems as well as development of mitigation plans.

Background:Wound healing has being extensively investigated over the *** impairment is caused by many reasons including increasing of free-radicals-mediated damage,delaying in granulation tissue formation,reducing in angiogenesis and decreasing in collagen *** facts consequently lead to chronic wound *** betle Linn(Betle)leaves have been folklore used as an ingredient of drugs for cutaneous wound ***,the effect of betle leaf on wound healing is not yet well *** this study,we aimed to investigate the healing efficacy of methanol leaf extract of Piper betle Linn on proliferation of fibroblast NIH3t3 cells as well as full-thickness burn and excision wounds in swiss ***:Scratch wound healing assays were conducted to examine the effects of betle leaf extract on healing activity of fibroblast *** and excision wounds on swiss mouse skins were created for investigating the wound healing progress caused by the betle leaf ***(MDA)was also evaluated to examine the products of lipid hydroperoxide(LPO)under conditions of with or without betle leaf extract ***:the results of this study showed that Piper betle Linn leaf extract in methanol increased proliferation of NIH3t3 cells and promoted wound healing in vitro and in vivo with both burn wound and excision wound *** addition,this extract significant decreased level of malondialdehyde(MDA)in liver of treated-mice compared with that in non-treated ***:Our results suggest that Piper betle Linn can be used as an ingredient in developing natural origin drugs for treatment of cutaneous wounds.

trong>Aims:trong> Wound care is the basic technique in patient care which has direct effects on treatment outcome. However, the Agriculture General Hospital (AGH), Vietnam, has never organized a continuing professional development (CPD) training program based on Vietnam’s Basic Nursing Competency Standards (VNBNCS) for their nurses. this study aimed to examine the knowledge, practice, and confidence level among nurses at the AGH after 12 months of implementing a VNBNCS-based wound care training program. trong>Methodology: trong>this descriptive and comparative study assessed the changes in knowledge, practice, and confidence scores of 43 nurses at five clinical departments before and 12 months after the training program (April 2018 to June 2019). Data were collected using a self-administrated knowledge questionnaire with 48 items, a 13-item confidence checklist, and a 16-item skills checklist. EpiData 3.1 and SPSS 18.0 were used to enter and analyze data, respectively. trong>Results:trong> the mean scores of knowledge (113.70 ± 14.75 vs. 129.7 ± 19.6), and practice (63.21 ± 19.99 vs. 132.07 ± 4.31) statistically significantly increased 12 months after training (p the mean score of confidence in performing wound care increased in all of the 13 aspects (p trong>Conclusion:trong> Nurses’ wound care-related knowledge, practice, and confidence have improved 12 months after training. this demonstrates the VNBNCS-based wound care training program developed by Viet duc University Hospital is suitable for use in the AGH and has achieved its promising initial outcomes. this program should be duplicated in other health facilities.

Exact Solution for Pressure Driven Flow of two Immiscible phan-thien-tanner Fluids in a Pipe

this paper provides the exact solutions for the fully developed two layer pressure driven flows of incompressible phan-thien-tanner fluids in a horizontal cylindrical pipe. Exact equations are formulated and solved for important kinematic properties, such as, velocity profiles, normal and shear stresses, total volume fluxes through a circular cross-section and average velocities. Graphical results are provided and discussed for the different flow parameters. A comparison of Upper Convected Maxwell (UCM), Linear phan-thien-tanner (LPtt) and Exponential phan-thien-tanner (EPtt) shows that UCM is a low viscosity fluid as compared to LPtt, and EPtt and LPtt is lighter than EPtt.

BACKGROUND Preterm birth(PtB)is one of the main causes of neonatal deaths globally,with approximately 15million infants are born *** from the Black,Asian,and Minority Ethnic(BAME)populations maybe at higher risk of PtB,therefore,the mental health impact on mothers experiencing a PtB is particularly important,within the BAME *** to determine the prevalence of mental health conditions among BAME women with PtB as well as the methods of mental health assessments used to characterise the mental health *** A systematic methodology was developed and published as a protocol in PROSPERO(CRD420-20210863).Multiple databases were used to extract relevant data.I2 and Egger's tests were used to detect the heterogeneity and publication bias.A trim and fill method was used to demonstrate the influence of publication bias and the credibility of *** thirty-nine studies met the eligibility criteria from a possible *** prevalence rates of depression among PtB-BAME mothers were significantly higher than full-term mothers with a standardized mean difference of 1.5 and a 95%confidence interval(CI)29%-74%.the subgroup analysis indicated depressive symptoms to be time *** within the very PtB category demonstrated a significantly higher prevalence of depression than those categorised as non-very *** prevalence rates of anxiety and stress among PtB-BAME mothers were significantly higher than in full-term mothers(odds ratio of 88%and 60%with a CI of 42%-149%and 24%-106%,respectively).CONCLUSION BAME women with PtB suffer with mental health *** studies did not report on specific mental health outcomes for BAME ***,the impact of PtB is not accurately represented in this population,and thus could negatively influence the quality of maternity services they receive.
