Water stability is one of the most important factors restricting the practical application of metal organic frameworks (MOFs). In this work, wefabricate a highly defective HKUST-1 framework with a mixed valence of CuI/CuIIby mechanical ball milling method. This defective HKUST-1is embellished by functionalized ionic liquids as hydrophobic armor, making the hybrid HIL1@HKUST-1 exhibits outstanding water stability,remarkable SO_(2) adsorption (up to 5.71 mmol g^(-1)), and record-breaking selectivity (1070 for SO_(2)/CO_(2) and 31,515 for SO_(2)/N_(2)) at 25 ℃ and0.1 bar, even in wet conditions.

The catalysis of ionic liquids (ILs) in the traditional stirred reactor suffers from insufficient mass and heat transfer, which always needs a long reaction time and results in a low reaction rate. In this work, highly efficient synthesis of 1-methoxy-2-propanol via the alcoholysis reaction of propylene oxide (PO) with methanol was proposed and achieved by the combination of micro-tubular circulating reactor with the IL [N4444] [Buty] catalyst. Compared with the stirred reactor, the rate of alcoholysis reaction in a micro-tubular circulating reactor was found to be significantly improved. The reaction time was remarkably shortened to 20 min from 180 min as well as the yield of 1-methoxy-2-propanol reached 92%. Moreover, the kinetic study further demonstrated that the main reaction rate to 1-methoxy-2-propanol (K1) was about 20 times larger than the side reaction rate to byproduct 2-methoxy-1-propanol (K2) in the temperature range of 363–383 K. Such combination of micro-tubular circulating reactor with IL catalysts is believed to be a class of effective process intensification technique for highly efficient synthesis of 1-methoxy-2-propanol.

Novel superacid SO_4H-functionalized ionic liquids(SFILs) were designed and prepared in this work. The catalytic activities of SFILs were evaluated in xylan hydrolysis and xylose dehydration to produce furfural. Combined with the results of acid strength of SFILs characterized by solid-state ^(31)P MAS NMR, it was found that the catalytic performance of SFILs was positively correlated to their acid strength. The superacid SFIL [Ch-SO_4H][CF_3SO_3] displayed the best catalytic performance with more than 80% yield of furfural, and it was also obviously superior to usual SO_3H-functionalized acidic ILs, mineral liquid acids, and acidic resin Amberlyst-15 catalysts in catalytic activity under optimized conditions. In addition, the superacid SFIL [Ch-SO_4H][CF_3SO_3] could be easily separated from reaction system and reused at least five times without obvious decrease.

A superior carbocatalyst ultrahigh N-doped graphene(NG) was prepared by a novel self-sacrificial templating method of one-step annealing vitamin B_(9).The NG catalyst with pyrolysis temperature of 800℃(abbreviated VB_(9)-NG-800) has an ultrahigh nitrogen content of 13.5 wt% and demonstrated the highest activity for the oxidation of bio-based alcohols and terpenes with molecular oxygen without any *** characterizations and quantum-chemical calculations further manifested that high contents of graphitic N and pyridinic N species in VB_(9)-NG-800 promoted the generation of·O_(2)^(-)active species from molecular oxygen effortlessly,resulting in excellent catalytic performance for aerobic oxidation.

The development of high-efficient adsorbents for the treatment of antibiotics from contaminated water has been of great *** work introduced an alcohol-solvent mediated strategy to increase the specific surface area(SSA)and porosity of hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets(BNNSs)for improving tetracycline(TC)removal *** BNNSs synthesized with the mediation of n-propanol solvent(BN-P)exhibited the largest pore volume and relatively high SSA(increased by 34%and 64%,respectively,compared with that synthesized under the mediation of water)in its structure,which in turn facilitated the mass transfer of TC molecules onto BN-P *** remarkable adsorption performance of BN-P,with 20%increase in equilibrium adsorption capacity and Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of 556 mg·g^(-1),was achieved for capturing TC within just 3 h,which is mainly through p-p interaction and electrostatic ***-second kinetics equation can well illustrate the adsorption process,while Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm models fitted the equilibrium data *** study demonstrated a spontaneous exothermal adsorption ***,the strong environmental suitability and notable recycling performance of BN-P revealed its good application prospect in removing antibiotic TC from wastewater.

Melting Mechanism and Structure Evolution of Au Nanofilms Explored by Molecular Dynamics Simulations

The melting mechanism and structure evolution of two-dimensional Au nanofilms with different thicknesses have been investigated in detail by using classical molecular dynamics simulations. The simulation results demonstrate that all Au nanofilms display a two-stage melting behavior of surface premelting and homogenous melting. Furthermore, the premelting behavior only occurs in the outermost layers but the other inner layers always keep a stable solid state until the corresponding melting point, which is different from the premelting behavior from surface into the interior in zero-dimensional Aunanocluster and one-dimensional Aunanowire. Meanwhile, the increase of nanofilm thickness can lead to an increase of melting point. During the premelting process, the surface reconstruction from the {100} plane to the {111} plane has directly been observed at a atomic level for all Au nanofilms. However even for the thinnest L2 nanofilm, the surface stress can't induce such surface reconstruction until temperature is up to 500 K, while similar surface reconstruction induced by surface stress can be observed at much lower temperature for the Aunanowire due to its higher surface-to-volume ratios compared to the Au nanofilm. In addition, our simulation results show that the thinnest Au nanofilm with two atomic layers can be broken into independent one-dimensional nanowires when the temperature reaches a certain value.

To explore air contamination resulting from special biomass combustion and suspended dust in Lhasa,the present study focused on the size distribution and chemical characteristics of particulate matter(PM)emission resulting from 7 types of non-fossil pollution *** investigated the concentration and size distribution of trace elements from 7 pollution sources collected in *** Lhasa’s atmospheric particulate matter data,enrichment factors(EFs)have been calculated to examine the potential impact of those pollution sources on the atmosphere quality of *** highest mass concentration of total elements of biomass combustion appeared at PM_(0.4),and the second highest concentration existed in the size fraction 0.4-1μm;the higher proportion(12%)of toxicmetals was produced by biomass *** elemental composition of suspended dust and atmospheric particulate matter was close(except for As and Cd);the highest concentration of elements was all noted in PM_(2.5-10)(PM3-10).Potassium was found to be one of the main biomass *** proportion of Cu in suspended dust is significantly lower than that of atmospheric particulate matter(0.53%and 3.75%),which indicates that there are other anthropogenic *** EFs analysis showed that the Cr,Cu,Zn,and Pb produced by biomass combustion were highly enriched(EFs>100)in all particle *** EFs of most trace elements increased with decreasing particle size,indicating the greater influence of humanfactors on smaller particles.

Isofunctional reactions involving the cleavage of carbon-carbon double bonds(C=C)hold an important position in organic synthesis,as they allow for the restructuring of alkene carbon chains and enable the exchange of functional groups without introducing exogenous ***,these reactions are primarily divided into C=C/C=C metathesis and C=C/C=O metathesis,with most relying on the use of transition metal *** report herein a C=C/CH_(2) metathesis reaction that obviates the need for transition metals and directing groups,and is characterized by economic and straightforward *** reaction not only facilitates the replacement of nitriles with ketones,but also enables the replacement of ketones with nitriles,demonstrating great universality.
