Elucidating the flow features around piles in local scouring processes is crucial for studies of local scouring mechanisms and scour depth *** study details the flow turbulence characteristics of two submerged piles that are determined by solving the Navier-Stokes equations with the improved delayed detached eddy simulation *** model is verified by comparing experimental and numerical results for hydrodynamic parameters with the literature for both square-crossing piles(SCPs)and circular-crossing piles(CCPs).Original topographies of flat and scoured beds(i.e.,the initial and equilibrium scouring stages)are based on experimental results obtained by the authors in the present *** and CCP flow features in the scouring process are *** results indicate that during the scouring process,the time-averaged drag coefficient and root mean square(rms)of the lift coefficient increase linearly in the CCP test,while the rms of the lift coefficient in the SCP test decreases ***,the minimum pressure coefficient is always located in the upstream corners in the SCP case but moves from 72.5°to 79.5°when the scour hole is completely developed in the CCP *** flow behind the pile,which is generated by separated boundary layers above the top face of the pile,can reach the sand bed and turn the separated shear layers into patches of small vortices in the near-wake ***,the high shear stress zones are mainly at the scour edges under scoured-bed conditions.

Chronic subdural hematoma(CSDH)is a disease characterized by capsuled blood products that progressively occupy the intracranial space,causing intracranial hypertension and compression in the *** frequently occurs in all demographics,especially in the elderly,but the pathogenesis of CSDH remains *** this review,we discuss the origin,development,and current treatment strategies of *** theﬁrst time,we analyzed the cellular and molecular compositions of hematoma membranes with a focus on neomembrane formation,a complex early-stage interactive event in hematoma *** hypothesize that in patients with CSDH,dural border cells(DBCs)might be induced to synthesize collagen or serum proteins might accumulate at the dura and arachnoid layers at the site of injury,thereby encapsulating the *** formation may trigger inﬂammatory responses after subdural hemorrhage,promotingﬁbroblast-involved extracellular matrix(ECM)deposition and aberrant angiogenesis within the outer ***,ECM deposition and angiogenesis mutually inﬂuence each other and are modulated by inﬂammatory *** illustrating the complex and interactive mechanism of neomembrane formation,we aim to provide a novel insight into CSDH pathogenesis and propose directions for future research as well as advancements in treatment strategies for this disease.

The self-assembly prodrugs are usually consisted of drug modules,activation modules,and assembly *** the balance between efficacy and safety by selecting suitable modules remains a challenge for developing prodrug *** study designed four docetaxel(DTX)prodrugs using disulfide bonds as activation modules and different lengths of branched-chain fatty alcohols as assembly modules(C_(16),C_(18),C_(20),and C_(24)).The lengths of the assembly modules determined the self-assembly ability of prodrugs and affected the activation modules’*** extension of the carbon chains improved the prodrugs’self-assembly ability and pharmacokinetic behavior while reducing the cytotoxicity and increased cumulative *** use of C_(20) can balance efficacy and *** results provide a great reference for the rational design of prodrug nanoassemblies.

Hypersonic vehicles emit strong infrared radiation from their high-temperature exhaust plume and body, which is critical for infrared early warning, tracking, and guidance. In this work, a comprehensive analysis is conducted on the factors involved in air dissociation reaction within the shock layer of hypersonic missile heads, as well as the multi-component afterburning effect of the exhaust plume. A novel Reverse Monte Carlo Method(RMCM) is proposed for infrared radiation calculation, which utilizes two-dimensional Low-Discrepancy Sequences(LDS) to improve computational accuracy. The numerical calculations for a dagger-type missile show that afterburning reactions increase the temperature on the centerline of the outlet exhaust plume by about 1000 K. The total infrared radiation intensity of the missile is the highest in the 1–3 μm band, with the hightemperature wall of the nozzle being the primary source of solid radiation, and gas radiation primarily coming from H_(2)O. The radiation intensity of the missile exhaust plume in the 3–5 μm band is the highest, with radiation sources primarily coming from CO_(2), CO, and HCl. Afterburning reactions of the exhaust plume increase the total infrared radiation intensity of the missile by about 0.7times. These results can provide reference for the detection and guidance of hypersonic missiles.

Chemotherapy is one of the major approaches for the treatment of metastatic lung cancer,although it is limited by the low tumor delivery efficacy of anticancer *** therapy is emerging for cancer treatment due to its high immune stimulation effect;however,excessively generated immunogenicity will cause serious inflammatory response ***,we prepared cancer cell membrane-coated liposomal paclitaxel-loaded bacterial ghosts(LP@BG@CCM)by layer-by-layer encapsulation for the treatment of metastatic lung *** preparation processes were simple,only involving film formation,electroporation,and pore ***@BG@CCM owned much higher 4T1 cancer cell toxicity than LP@BG due to its faster fusion with cancer *** the 4T1 breast cancer metastatic lung cancer mouse models,the remarkably higher lung targeting of intravenously injected LP@BG@CCM was observed with the almost normalized lung appearance,the reduced lung weight,the clear lung tissue structure,and the enhanced cancer cell apoptosis compared to its ***,several major immune factors were improved after administration of LP@BG@CCM,including the CD4^(+)/CD8a^(+)T cells in the spleen and the TNF-α,IFN-γ,and IL-4 in the ***@BG@CCM exhibits the optimal synergistic chemo-immunotherapy,which is a promising medication for the treatment of metastatic lung cancer.

Background Inhibition of aging of vascular endothelial cells （VECs） may delay aging and prolong life. The goal of this study was to prepare anti-CD31 monoclonal antibody conjugated PEG-modified liposomes containing the AU-rich region connecting factor 1 （AUF1） gene （CD31-PILs-AUF1） and to explore the effects of targeting CD31-PILs-AUF1 to aging VECs. Methods The mean particle sizes of various PEGylated immunoliposomes （PILs） were measured using a Zetasizer Nano ZS. Gel retardation assay was used to confirm whether PILs had encapsulated the AUF1 plasmid successfully. Fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry were used to quantify binding of CD31-PILs-AUF1 to target cells. Flow cytometry was also used to analyze the cell cycles of aging bEnd3 cells treated with CD31-PILs-AUF1. We also developed an aging mouse model by treating mice with D-galactose. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） was used to evaluate the levels of interleuldn-6 （IL-6） and tumor necrosis factor-or （TNF-ct）. The malondialdehyde （MDA） and the superoxide dismutase （SOD） levels were detected by commercial kits. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining was used to determine whether treatment with CD31-PILs-AUF 1 was toxic to the mice. Results CD31-PILs-AUF 1 specifically could targeted bEnd3 VECs and increased the percentage of cells in the S and G2/M phases of aging bEnd3 cells. ELISA showed that content of the IL-6 and TNF-ct decreased in CD31-PILs-AUF1 group. The level of SOD increased, whereas MDA decreased in the CD31-PILs-AUF1 group. Additionally, CD31-PILs-AUF 1 was not toxic to the mice. Conclusion CD31-PILs-AUF 1 targets VECs and may delay their senescence.

This study focuses on the analytical prediction of subsurface settlement induced by shield tunnelling in sandy cobble stratum considering the volumetric deformation modes of the soil above the tunnel crown.A series of numerical analyses is performed to examine the effects of cover depth ratio(C/D),tunnel volume loss rate(h t)and volumetric block proportion(VBP)on the characteristics of subsurface settle-ment trough and soil volume *** the ground loss variation with depth,three modes are deduced from the volumetric deformation responses of the soil above the tunnel ***,analytical solutions to predict subsurface settlement for each mode are presented using stochastic medium *** influences of C/D,h t and VBP on the key parameters(i.e.B and N)in the analytical expressions are discussed to determine the fitting formulae of B and ***,the proposed analytical solutions are validated by the comparisons with the results of model test and numerical *** show that the fitting formulae provide a convenient and reliable way to evaluate the key ***,the analytical solutions are reasonable and available in predicting the subsurface settlement induced by shield tunnelling in sandy cobble stratum.
