Protective and Regenerative Anti-Pollution Efficacy of a Plant Oil-Based day and Night Cream: Investigated by a Novel Approach to Reveal the Impact of Pollutants on Epidermal Barrier Integrity and Lipid Matrix

In the wake of ever-increasing environmental pollution, human skin in the modern urban world is exposed to increased levels of harmful environmental pollutants. Many studies have shown that these pollutants can weaken the epidermal skin barrier and thus facilitate the penetration of these substances into the skin. An important goal of modern skin care against harmful environmental influences should therefore be to protect and strengthen the epidermal barrier and to repair occurring damage quickly and efficiently. With this in mind, in the present study we investigated what damage cigarette smoke causes to the epidermal barrier and 1) whether the regular application of a O/W emulsion (day Cream) can protectively strengthen the epidermal barrier against environmental damage and 2) whether a cigarette smoke-induced disruption of the epidermal barrier is restored faster and better by the regular application of a another O/W emulsion (Night Cream) than in product-untreated skin. The two products are slightly different in plant-oil, active ingredient composition and texture. Firstly, the study has shown that the Lipbarvis? method is suitable for measuring the effect of cigarette smoke, in contrast to conventional biophysical measurement methods (transepidermal water loss, skin hydration). Secondly, both products were able to improve skin barrier function in the corresponding test scenario. This was demonstrated for both test products by a significantly reduced TEWL, significantly increased skin hydration and significantly improved length of the lipid lamellae in the intercellular space, as well as the protective effect of the day cream on the epidermal skin barrier and the regenerative properties of the tested night cream. .

The paper deals with continuous and compact mappings generated by the Fourier transform between distinguished Besov spaces Bps(Rn)=Bp,ps(Rn),1≤p≤∞,and between Sobolev spaces Hps(Rn),1d mainly on embeddings between related weighted spaces,we rely on wavelet expansions,duality and interpolation of corresponding (unweighted) spaces,and(appropriately extended) Hausdorff-Young *** degree of compactness will be measured in terms of entropy numbers and approximation numbers,now using the symbiotic relationship to weighted spaces.

Embeddings of generalised Morrey smoothness spaces

We study embeddings between generalised Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces εφ,p,qs(Rd) and within the scales of further generalised Morrey smoothness spaces like Nφ,p,qs(Rd),Bp,qs,φ(Rd) and Fp,qs,φ(Rd).The latter have been investigated in a recent paper by the first two authors(2023),while the embeddings of the scale Nφ,p,qs(Rd) were mainly obtained in a paper of the first and last two authors(2022).Now we concentrate on the characterisation of the spaces εφ,p,qs(Rd).Our approach requires a wavelet characterisation of those spaces which we establish for the system of daubechies’ *** we prove necessary and sufficient conditions for the embedding εφ1,p1,q1s1(Rd)→εφ2,p2,q2s2(Rd).We can also provide some almost final answer to the question when εφ,p,qs(Rd) is embedded into C(Rd),complementing our recent findings in case of Nφ,p,qs(Rd).

In the recent years,the so-called Morrey smoothness spaces attracted a lot of *** can(also)be understood as generalisations of the classical spaces A_(p,q)^(s)(R^(n))with A∈{B,F}in R^(n),where the parameters satisfy s∈R(smoothness),0d 0dditional parameters are *** our opinion,among the various approaches at least two scales enjoy special attention,also in view of applications:the scales A_(p,q)^(s)(R^(n))with A∈{N,E}and u≥p,and A_(p,q)^(s),τ(R^(n))with A∈{B,F}andτ≥*** reorganise these two prominent types of Morrey smoothness spaces by adding to(s,p,q)the so-called slope parameter e,preferably(but not exclusively)with-n ed min(|e|,1)replaces 1 in slopes of(broken)lines in the(1/p,s)-diagram characterising distinguished properties of the spaces A_(p,q)^(s)(R^(n))and their Morrey *** attention will be paid to low-slope spaces with-1ding properties are quite often independent of n∈*** aim is *** the one hand,we reformulate some assertions already available in the literature(many of which are quite recent).On the other hand,we establish on this basis new properties,a few of which become visible only in the context of the offered new approach,governed,now,by the four parameters(s,p,q,e).

Some Specific Unboundedness Property in Smoothness Morrey Spaces. The Non-existence of Growth Envelopes in the Subcritical Case

Abstract We study smoothness spaces of Morrey type on Rn and characterise in detail those situa s,r n s n tions when such spaces of type Ap,q^s,r（Rn ） or A u^sp,q（R ） are not embedded into L∞（R^n）. We can show that in the so-called sub-critical, proper Morrey case their growth envelope function is always infinite which is a much stronger assertion. The same applies for the Morrey spaces Mu,p（Rn） with p 〈 u. This is the first result in this direction and essentially contributes to a better understanding of the structure of the above spaces.

Continuous Embeddings of Besov-Morrey Function Spaces

We study embeddings of spaces of Besov-Morrey type, MB p1^s1 q1^r1（R^d）→MB p2^s2 q2^r2（R^d） and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for this. Moreover, we can also charaeterise the special weighted situation Bp1^s1 （R^d ,w）→MB p2^s2 q2^r2（R^d） for a Muekenhoupt A∞ weight w, with wα（x） = ｜x｜^a, 〉 -d, as a typical example.

Unboundedness properties of smoothness Morrey spaces of regular distributions on domains

We study unboundedness of smoothness Morrey spaces on bounded domains ? ? R^n in terms of growth envelopes. It turns out that in this situation the growth envelope function is finite—in contrast to the results obtained by Haroske et al.(2016) for corresponding spaces defined on R^n. A similar effect was already observed by Haroske et al.(2017), where classical Morrey spaces M_(u,p)(?) were investigated. We deal with all cases where the concept is reasonable and also include the tricky limiting cases. Our results can be reformulated in terms of optimal embeddings into the scale of Lorentz spaces L_(p,q)(?).

Formation of claudin-10 based tight junctions(TJs)is paramount to paracellular Na+transport in multiple *** variants in CLdN10 have been linked to HELIX syndrome,a salt-losing tubulopathy with altered handling of divalent cations accompanied by dysfunctional salivary,sweat,and lacrimal ***,we investigate molecular basis and phenotypic consequences of a newly identified homozygous CLdN10 variant that translates into a single amino acid substitution within the fourth transmembrane helix of *** addition to hypohidrosis(H),electrolyte(E)imbalance with impaired urine concentrating ability,and hypolacrimia(L),phenotypic findings include altered salivary electrolyte composition and amelogenesis imperfecta but neither ichthyosis(I)nor xerostomia(X).Employing cellular TJ reconstitution assays,we demonstrate perturbation of cis-and trans-interactions between mutant claudin-10 *** of reconstituted TJ strands show disturbed continuity and reduced abundance in the mutant ***,both major isoforms,claudin-10a and claudin-10b,are differentially affected with claudin-10b showing more severe molecular ***,expression of the mutant in renal epithelial cells with endogenous TJs results in wild-type-like ion selectivity and conductivity,indicating that aberrant claudin-10 is generally capable of forming functional paracellular ***,mutant proteins prove pathogenic by compromising claudin-10 TJ strand *** ex vivo investigations indicate their insertion into TJs to occur in a tissue-specific manner.
