Reducing children’s exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate in homes and kindergartens in China:Impact on lifetime cancer risks and burden of disease

Exposure to di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)in the indoor environment has been linked with significant health risks for Chinese ***-phase DEHP concentrations in Chinese residences and kindergartens were estimated using a mass balance model based on the current baseline condition and control strategies(i.e.,increasing ventilation rate,reducing area of sources,using mechanical ventilation systems,and using portable air cleaners).The health benefits of each control strategy were quantified as the reduction in lifetime cancer risks(LCR)and burden of disease(BoD).In the current situation,the mean LCR and disability-adjusted life years(DALY)number attributable to indoor DEHP exposure for Chinese children were around 6.0×10^(−6) and 155 thousand,*** mean LCR and DALY might be reduced by 25%-54%and 16%-40%,respectively,by increasing air exchange rates by 100%,reducing the use of source materials by two-thirds or deploying commercial air cleaners in naturally ventilated ***,avoidable DALYs could result in a reduction of mean economic losses of 2.2-5.3 billion *** ventilation systems with filtration units may not be helpful for reducing children’s health ***-specific and tailor-made control measures are critical in lowering indoor exposure to DEHP to promote sustainable buildings and children’s health in China.

Large size polysynthetically twinned crystals of Ti-46 Al-8 Nb alloy with a parallel lamellar microstructure were successfully prepared using a Ti-43 Al-3 Si seed by our new operation.A large amount of columnar B2 phase paralleling to the growth direction was found in the final lamellar *** growth rate(>30 mm/h)led to the failure of seeding *** on these results,a new mechanism is proposed to describe the seeding process of the hypo-peritectic Ti Al *** peritecticαphase is suggested to directly nucleate from the melt,and then act as nucleus for transformedαphase in the subsequentβtoα*** the higher growth rate,the appearance ofβphase secondary dendrites and homogeneous nucleation lead to the failure of seeding *** Nb addition leads to a large amount of residualβphase,and theseβdendrites finally evolve into B2 *** room temperature tensile elongation was measured to be 11.9-18.5%for Ti-46 Al-8 Nb PST crystals,which is the highest ever reported value for Ti Al based alloys.

Encapsulating well-defined nanoparticles (NPs) into metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) to form core–shell structures not only combines their properties, but may also provide synergistic functionality. Much research attention has been focused on applying core–shell NP@MOF structures to gas storage and sensing, luminescence, lithium ion batteries, selective catalysis, and cascade reactions; however, their application as photocatalysts has been reported much more rarely. Herein, we report the design of a new core–shell structure composed of semiconductor CdS NPs as the core and ZIF-8 as the shell. Both single-core–shell and multiple-core–shell CdS@ZIF-8 were synthesized by varying the concentrations of the ZIF-8 precursor. Photocatalytic hydrogen generation from formic acid over CdS@ZIF-8 demonstrated that core–shell CdS@ZIF-8 structures exhibit increased photocatalytic selectivity for H2 generation from formic acid compared with pure CdS NPs. Furthermore, the concentration of CO in the products was significantly decreased, which benefits the application of CdS@ZIF-8 to proton-exchange membrane fuel cells. Our results provide guidance for the development of new photocatalysts based on NP@MOF core–shell materials.

省估产生于永贞元年(805)八月李巽任度支使以后至元和三年(808)九月裴垍任宰相以前,是为了解决德宗贞元后期以来税户负担过重等问题而进行的重要改革之一。经过元和四年(809)两税改革,确立了江淮地区两税钱的大部分以省估收支实物的制度。“送省轻货中估”可简称“省估”“中估”。所谓尚书省制定省估,是将省估确定为实估的2.5倍,各地则按此比例确定当地的具体估价。省估称中估是因为一方面省估与市司中估一样,均为与官交易的估价;另一方面省估高于实估、低于建中税价,是建中税价与实估的折中估价。省估与两税钱的钱物收支比例不是一个概念,但关系密切,裴垍两税改革有“江淮稍息肩”之效,即是两者共同起作用的结果。

An analytical methodology based on an O-[2-(methacryloyloxy)-ethylcarbamoyl]-10,11-dihydroquinidine(MQD)-silica hybrid monolithic column was developed for the enantioseparation of 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl(FMOC)derivatized amino acids by nano-liquid *** mobile phase was optimized including the apparent pH,content of ACN,and concentration of the buffer to obtain a satisfactory enantioresolution performance.27 FMOC derivatized amino acids including 19 protein and 8 non-protein amino acids were tested,and 19 out of them were enantiomerically discriminated obtaining baseline separation for 11 of *** characteristics of the method were evaluated for norvaline and tryptophan in terms of linearity,precision,accuracy,limits of detection(LOD)and quantitation(LOQ)showing good performance to be applied to the enantiomeric determination of these amino acids in dietary *** and LOQ values were 9.3 and 31 mM for norvaline enantiomers and 7.5 and 25 mM for tryptophan enantiomers,*** contents of D-norvaline and D-tryptophan were below their respective LODs in all the analyzed *** of L-tryptophan and L-norvaline showed good agreement with the labeled contents except for one sample which did not show presence of L-norvaline,contrary to the label indication.

The nucleation and propagation of h011]superdislocations in intermetallic TiAl were investigated using molecular dynamics simulations and static energetics calculation,as part of our systematic effort to understand the twining and dislocation behavior of alloys based on *** was found that compared to ordinary dislocations in disordered crystals,superdislocations in ordered TiAl lattice behave differently when sheared in the two opposite senses along[0"11]*** difference is due to the lower L10lattice symmetry compared with the face-centered cubic(fcc)lattice that it based on,with different yield stress and strain,and dislocation core dissociation and *** nucleated in the form of loops dissociated in a planar manner into four Shockley partials separated by three kinds of faults:superlattice intrinsic stacking fault(SISF),anti-phase domain boundary(APB)and complex stacking fault(CSF),with partial separations depending on the sense of shearing and dislocation *** loop expansion,the dislocation core changes both in width and dissociation manner depending on the character of the segment in the *** core contains four partials close to edge orientation,gradually changing to three fold near 60°,and finally into twofold dissociationaround 30°*** may have multiple critical resolved shear stresses(CRSS)for motion depending on dissociation and shearing sense even for the same slip system,with lower critical stress for the motion when SISF is in leading position.

作为一个诗书画兼善的岭南派第二代画家,关山月的诗词、书法成就往往为其绘画才华所掩盖。诗文与书画的关系自古渊源颇深,作为两种维度不同的文艺形式,却不乏许多相通之处。关山月的艺术生涯基本都在艺术革新中走过,到了晚年反而专注研究传统文人画。关于这种现象,笔者似乎在关诗和关画的联系中找到了部分答案:中国文化诗书画一体的传统和诗画相通的规律一直在潜移默化地影响着关氏晚年的梅花创作,使他时时创新,又时时没离传统太远,禀承“笔墨当随时代”和“折衷中西,融汇古今”益发彰显础。

Background The causes and mechanisms of chronic diarrhea are *** study aimed to explore the relationship between chronic diarrhea with normal colonoscopy findings and terminal ileum *** All cases were collected from January 2009 to June *** 40 patients in the patient group had chronic diarrhea with normal colonoscopy *** who had hyperthyroidism,diabetes,chronic pancreatitis,cirrhosis,atrophic gastritis,short bowel syndrome and connective tissue diseases had been *** control group contained 40 healthy individuals without *** of the terminal ileum was applied in both groups,with the endoscope inserted into terminal ileum for more than 20 *** patients diagnosed of chronic diarrhea with terminal ileum lesions were treated with metronidazole and probiotics for 10-14 *** Before treatment there were significant differences in endoscopy findings of the terminal ileum between the two groups （P 〈0.05）.In the patient group,endoscopy showed congestion,edema,erosion and ulcers in 29 cases,hyperplasia and enlargement of lymphoid follicles in 10 cases with a maximal diameter of 7-8 mm,and 1 case showed normal endoscopy *** treatment,35 patients recovered from diarrhea,and terminal ileum lesions disappeared in 30 cases as determined by *** the control group,endoscopy showed scattered hyperplasia of lymphoid follicles in 5 cases,and the follicles were small with the maximal diameter being 3 *** was no hyperemia,edema,erosion or *** Chronic diarrhea patients with normal colonoscopy findings may have lesions in the terminal ileum that can be detected by endoscopy; including hyperemia,erosion,ulcers and lymphoid follicle *** effect is good with metronidazole and probiotics.

The Quality of Life of Gastric Cancer Patients with and without Duodenal Passage Reconstructions after Total Gastrectomy

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the Quality of Life of the patients who received a total gastrectomy with different kinds of reconstruction *** Patients who received a total gastrectomy between May 1999 to May 2003 were followed-up via questionnaires. Fifty-nine who were alive more than 2 years with no sigh of recurrence were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into 2 groups as follows: a group treated with reconstruction with a duodenal passage after total gastrectomy (gastric substitute, GS); and a group receiving reconstruction without duodenal passage after total gastrectomy (Jejenal pouch, JP). Follow-up feedback data of 14 items from the patients were analyzed, comparing the Quality of Life (QOL) between the 2 *** Six months after operation, the most common symptoms of all patients were reflux and loss of body weight, but there was no statistically significant differences in the 14 items related to the special post-operation symptoms between the 2 groups. At 12 months after the operations,there were significant differences between the 2 groups in body weight (P=0.01), eating time (P=0.034＜0.05), and frequency of food intake (P=0.040＜0.05); At 24 months after the operations, the only difference between the 2 groups was body weight gain (P=0.025＜0.05). The JP group was better than the GS *** The JP reconstruction pattern is superior to a simple GS in gain of body weight, volume of food intake and frequency of food intake, soon after the operation.
