Computed tomography radiomic features and clinical factors predicting the response to first transarterial chemoembolization in intermediate-stage hepatocellular carcinoma

The Mining of Citrus EST-SNP and Its Application in Cultivar Discrimination

Single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） are the most abundant sequence variations found in plant genomes and are widely used as molecular genetic markers in cultivar identification and genetic diversity studies. The objective of this study was to identify SNP markers useful for discrimination of citrus cultivars, since large numbers of expressed sequence tags （ESTs） of sweet orange are available from the National Center for Biotechnology Information （NCBI）. We now have the opportunity to discover SNP markers suitable for determining the haplotypes with which to distinguish very closely related cultivars and to assess genetic diversity within or between related species of citrus. SNPs and small insertions/deletions （Indels） from ESTs of sweet orange and satsuma were identified by the in silico SNP discovery strategy. 55 296 EST sequences of sweet orange and 2 575 of satsuma retrieved from the NCBI repository were mined for potential SNPs. Cleaved amplified polymorphic sequences （CAPS） and sequencing approaches were used to validate putative SNPs in a sample of 30 citrus accessions. A total of 3 348 putative SNPs were identified based on the abundance of sequences and haplotype cosegregation. Of these 3 348 SNPs, the transitions, transversions and Indels ratios were 47.9, 36.1 and 16.0%, respectively. The SNPs occurred on average at a frequency of 1 per 164 bp in the coding region of citrus. 14 SNPs were randomly selected and genotyped according to 30 citrus accessions including 23 accessions of sweet orange; 11 SNPs displayed polymorphism with an average polymorphism information content （PIC） of 0.20 among 30 citrus accessions. The genetic diversity present in sweet orange was low, so the 14 SNP markers failed to discriminate different cultivars of sweet orange, but they did succeed in distinguishing accessions of inter-species of citrus. Interdiffusion behavior between Cr and Zr and its effect on the microcracking behavior in the Cr-coated Zr-4 alloy

High-temperature chromium(Cr)-zirconium(Zr)interdiffusion commonly occurs in Cr-coated zircaloys applied for enhanced accident-tolerant fuel(ATF)clad*** interdiffusion changes the interfacial microstructure and thus the fracture mechanism of the coating under external *** this study,the interdiffusion behavior in a magnetron sputtered Cr coating deposited on a Zr-4 alloy was studied in a vacuum environment at 1160*** addition,the effect of interdiffusion on the microcracking behavior of the Cr coating was determined by in situ three-point bending *** experimental results show that the interdiffusion behavior resulted in the formation of a ZrCr2 layer,accompanied by the consumption of Cr coating and interfacial *** growth of the diffusion layer followed a nearly parabolic law with respect to annealing time,and the residual stress of the annealed coating decreased with increasing annealing *** external loading,a large number of cracks were generated in the brittle interlayer,and some interfacial cracks were formed and grew at the ZrCr2/Zr-4 *** the remarkable microcracks in the ZrCr2 layer,the vacuum-annealed Cr coating has significantly fewer cracks than the original coating,mainly because of the recrystallization of the coating during annealing.

Comparative genomics of Helicobacter pylori

Genomic sequences have been determined for a number of strains of Helicobacter pylori （H pylori） and related bacteria. With the development of microarray analysis and the wide use of subtractive hybridization techniques, comparative studies have been carried out with respect to the interstrain differences between H pylori and inter-species differences in the genome of related bacteria. It was found that the core genome of H pylori constitutes 1111 genes that are determinants of the species properties. A great pool of auxiliary genes are mainly from the categories of cag pathogenicity islands, outer membrane proteins, restriction-modification system and hypothetical proteins of unknown function. Persistence of H pylori in the human stomach leads to the diversification of the genome. Comparative genomics suggest that a host jump has occurs from humans to felines. Candidate genes specific for the development of the gastric diseases were identified. With the aid of proteomics, population genetics and other molecular methods, future comparative genomic studies would dramatically promote our understanding of the evolution, pathogenesis and microbiology of Hpylori.

Exceptional points enhance sensing in silicon micromechanical resonators

Exceptional points(EPs)have recently emerged as a new method for engineering the response of open physical systems,that is,systems that interact with the *** systems at the EPs exhibit a strong response to a small ***,we show a method by which the sensitivity of silicon resonant sensors can be enhanced when operated at *** our experiments,we use a pair of mechanically coupled silicon micromechanical resonators constituting a parity-time(PT)-symmetric *** perturbations introduced on the mechanically coupled spring cause the frequency to split from the EPs into the PT-symmetric regime without broadening the two spectrum linewidths,and this frequency splitting scales with the square root of the perturbation *** overall signal-tonoise ratio is still greatly enhanced,although the measured noise spectral density of the EP sensing scheme has a slight increase comparable to the traditional *** results pave the way for resonant sensors with ultrahigh sensitivity.

Cryptococcus splenic abscess in primary biliary cholangitis: a case report

Chronic liver diseases,including primary biliary cholangitis(PBC),are recognized as immunosuppressive conditions due to the impaired functionality of hepatic sinusoidal Kupffer cells.[1]PBC is specifically characterized by cholangitis and progressive liver pathology,which may eventually lead to *** compromised liver function and reduced efficacy of Kupffer cells in patients with PBC weaken their cell-mediated immune responses,increasing their susceptibility to opportunistic pathogens such as Cryptococcus.[2]Cryptococcosis is an infectious disease caused by pathogenic encapsulated yeasts of the genus Cryptococcus,which is distributed worldwide and exhibits diverse clinical presentations.[3]Most case reports on cryptococcal infections are associated with HIV infection or other conditions that compromise the immune system.[4]Case reports related to primary biliary cholangitis are ***,this case report underscores a rare cryptococcal infection in a patient with primary biliary cholangitis,emphasizing the need to consider opportunistic infections in those with compromised liver function and immune dysregulation.

Significantly Enhanced Energy Storage Performances of PEI-based Composites Utilizing Surface Functionalized ZrO_(2) Nanoparticles for High-Temperature Application

Polymer dielectrics with a high energy density and an available energy storage capacity have been playing an important role in advanced electronics and power systems. Nevertheless, the use of polymer dielectrics in harsh environments is limited by their low energy density at high temperatures. Herein, zirconium dioxide(ZrO_(2)) nanoparticles were decorated with amino group utilizing 4,4-methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate)(AMEO) and successfully incorporated into polyetherimide(PEI) matrix. The dielectric properties, breakdown strength, and energy storage performances of PEI/ZrO_(2)-AMEO nanocomposites were investigated from 25 ℃ to 150 ℃. It is found that the combination of moderate bandgap ZrO_(2) with modest dielectric constant and polar groups at interface with deep trap can offer an available strategy to simultaneously increase the dielectric constant and breakdown strength of polymer dielectrics. As a result, the composites containing ZrO_(2)-AMEO exhibit excellent energy storage performance at elevated temperatures. Specially, the PEI-based composites with 3 vol% ZrO_(2)-AMEO display a maximum discharged energy density(U_(d)) of 3.1 J/cm^(3) at 150 ℃, presenting 90% higher than that of neat PEI. This study may help to better develop the polymer-based dielectric composite applied at elevated temperatures.

An efficient water-based bismuth-mediated addition reaction of carbonyl compound with cyclic allylic halide was *** reactions proceeded smoothly in aqueous DMF in the presence of ammonium iodide to afford the corresponding syn-homoallylic alcohols in moderate to good yields with excellent diastereoselectivities(>99:1 syn:anti).Reversal of product diastereoselectivity was observed when heteroaryl aldehyde possessing an adjacent chelating nitrogen atom was employed as substrate.

A Comparative Study on the Post-Buckling Behavior of Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipes(RTPs)Under External Pressure Considering Progressive Failure
