The seemingly useless reeds are prepared as thermal insulation materials,which not only meet the requirements of environmental sustainability but also enhance the added value of reeds,creating new economic *** hydrophobicity of raw biomass surfaces leads to problems such as weak bonding strength and non-dense structure in the formed materials,as well as issues related to the residual insect infestations on the *** this study,reed straw was used as the raw material,and foamed geopolymer was used as the binder to prepare building insulation materials based *** improve the interfacial adhesion performance between reed straw and foamed geopolymer,a thermochemical modification method-thermal carbonization,was *** this study,the mechanical properties and hydraulic properties of the studied materials with different degrees of surface thermal modification were tested,especially the fire resistance performance,and weathering resistance performance rarely found in published *** the surface thermal modification condition of reed straw was 250℃（30 min）,the comprehensive performance of reed-based building insulation materials was the best,when the studied material density was 321.3 kg/m3;the compressive strength was 0.59 MPa;the thermal conductivity was 0.101 W/（m·K）;the pH was 11.27;the moisture absorption rate was 25.1%,and the compressive strength loss rate in wet-dry cycles was 18.5%.In addition,it had excellent fire resistance performance and weathering resistance *** new material can be widely used to improve the thermal insulation of traditional buildings and as sandwich filler in prefabricated buildings,such as preparing insulating walls.

In this work, we provide a comprehensive review on the formation, evolution, properties, and effects of supercritical geofluid. In Earth's interior, enhanced miscibility between H2O and silicate by the addition of special components or by the increase of pressure and temperature gives rise to supercritical geofluid with a significant amount of both H2O and silicate *** formation of supercritical geofluid in magmatic-hydrothermal systems, typified by pegmatite system, is governed by meltfluid critical curve. The formation of supercritical geofluid in metamorphic systems, typified by subducted slab, is governed by the second critical end point. Experimental results suggest that the presence of boron and fluorine in pegmatite system makes it possible to form supercritical geofluid at crustal depths, but the release of supercritical geofluid from subducted slab is withheld until almost 100 km depth. A major presence of both H2O and depolymerized structural units（monomers, dimers, etc.） endows supercritical geofluid with unique physical properties including low density, low elastic moduli, low viscosity, high diffusivity,and high electrical conductivity. Supercritical geofluid can effectively mobilize a variety of elements even including high field strength elements and heavy rare earth elements. The chemical signatures of supercritical geofluid can be inherited by metasomatized mantle and mantle-derived melts, and this could give an explanation of the oxidation of arc magmas. Phase separation of supercritical geofluid through the mechanism of spinodal decomposition leads to formation of a melt network. Multiphase fluid inclusions recovered from subduction zone rocks and pegmatites are possible relics of supercritical geofluid. Supercritical geofluid can cause electrical anomaly and low seismic velocity near the top of subducted slab, and can be linked with intermediate-focus earthquakes. The grain size of TiAl alloy castings prepared by traditional casting process is coarse, thus showing poor mechanical properties. In this study, a new type of high performance Ti-46Al alloy tube prepared by vacuum centrifugal casting technology was introduced. This research comprehensively examined the influence of pouring time on the microstructure and mechanical performance of the castings, employing both experimental approaches and ProCast simulation methodologies. The findings indicate that prolonging the pouring time facilitates a microstructural evolution from coarse columnar grains to refined equiaxed grains. Under the condition of pouring temperature of 1,600 °C, rotation speed of 800 r·min-1and pouring time of 6 s, the tensile strength of Ti-46Al alloy at room temperature reaches 650 MPa, and the tensile strength at 800 °C reaches 705 MPa, which is significantly higher than that of traditional as-cast Ti-Al alloy.

The liutex core line method, first combined with the snapshot proper orthogonal decomposition (POD), is utilized in a supersonic micro-vortex generator (MVG) wake flow at Ma = 2.5 and Reθ = 5 760 to reveal the physical significance of each POD mode of the flow field. Compared with other scalar-based vortex identification methods, the liutex core line identification is verified to be the most appropriate approach that is threshold-free and provides full information of a fluid rotation motion. Meanwhile, the liutex integration is employed to quantitatively track the evolution of the vortices in MVG wake and is applied to the determination of the effective control section of the MVG wake for the optimization study of MVG design. The physical mechanism of each POD mode for multi-scale and multi-frequency vortical structures is investigated by using liutex core line identification to give some revelations. For the mean mode (mode 0) indicating the time-averaged velocity flowfield of the MVG wake flow, a pair of primary counter-rotating streamwise vortices and another pair of secondary vortices is uniquely identified by two pairs of liutex core lines with liutex magnitude. In contrast, mode 1 is featured by a fluctuated roll-up motion of streamwise vortex, and the streamwise component of the MVG wake is demonstrated to be dominant in terms of the total kinetic energy contribution. Meanwhile, a dominant shedding frequency of St = 0.072 is detected from the temporal behavior of mode 2, which has the organized arc-shaped vortex structures shedding from MVG induced by the K-H instability. Additionally, mode 4 subjects to low-frequency oscillations of the wall vortices and thus takes a relatively lower frequency of St = 0.044.

Contribution of underlying terrain to sand dunes: evidence from the Qaidam Basin, Northwest China

Underlying terrain strongly influences dune ***,the impacts of underlying terrain on the dune formation are poorly *** the present research,we focused on dunes that formed in the alluvial fans and dry salt flats in the Qaidam Basin,Northwest *** quantified the dunes'sediment characteristics on different types of underlying terrain and the terrain's effects on the surface quartz grains by analyzing grain-size distribution,soluble salt contents and grain surface *** showed that barchan dunes were dominated by medium sands with a unimodal frequency distribution,whose peak corresponded to the saltation *** dunes were mainly composed of fine sands with a bimodal frequency distribution,whose main peak represented the saltation load,and whose secondary peak represented the modified saltation or suspension *** was transported from source area by running water(inland rivers)over short distances and by wind over relatively longer ***,quartz grains had poor roundness and were dominated by sub-angular and angular *** micro-textures indicated that dune sands were successively transported by exogenic agents(glaciation,fluviation and wind).Soluble salt contents were low in dunes that developed in the alluvial fans,which represented a low-energy chemical environment,so the grain surface micro-textures mainly resulted from mechanical erosion,with weak micro-textures formed by SiO2 solution and ***,soluble salt contents were much higher in dunes that developed in the dry salt flats,which indicated a high-energy chemical ***,in addition to micro-structures caused by mechanical erosion,micro-textures formed by SiO2 solution and precipitation also well *** results improve understanding of the sediment characteristics of dune sands and the effects of underlying terrain on dune development in the Qaidam Basin,China.

Shape is an important quality index of cold rolling strip. Up to now, many problems in the shape control domain have not been solved satisfactorily, and a review on the research progress in the shape control domain can help to seek new breakthrough directions. In the past 10 years, researches and applications of shape control models, shape control means, shape detection technology, and shape con- trol system have achieved significant progress. In the aspect of shape control models, the researches in the past improve the accuracy, speed and robustness of the models. The intelligentization of shape control models should be strengthened in the future. In the aspect of the shape control means, the researches in the past focus on the roll opti- mization, mill type selection, process optimization, local strip shape control, edge drop control, and so on. In the future, more attention should be paid to the coordination control of both strip shape and other quality indexes, and the refinement of control objective should be strengthened. In the aspects of shape detection technology and shape control system, some new types of shape detection meters and shape control systems are developed and have successfully indus- trial applications. In the future, the standardization of shape detection technology and shape control system should be promoted to solve the problem of compatibility. In general,the four expected development trends of shape control for cold roiling strip in the future are intelligentization, coordi- nation, refinement, and standardization. The proposed research provides new breakthrough directions for improv- ing shape quality.
