Iron-metal clusters are crucial in a variety of critical biological and material systems,including metalloenzymes,catalysts,and magnetic storage ***,a synthetic high-nuclear iron cluster has been absent due to the extreme difficulty in stabilizing species with direct iron-iron *** this work,we have synthesized,crystallized,and characterized a（Tp*）4W4S12(Fe@Fe12) cluster(Tp*=tris（3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl）borate（1-）),which features a rare trideca-nuclear,icosahedral[Fe@Fe12] cluster core with direct multicenter iron-iron bonding between the interstitial iron（Fei） and peripheral irons（Fep）,as well as Fep…Fepferromagnetic *** chemistry studies reveal that the stability of the cluster arises from the 18-electron shell-closing of the [Fe@Fe12]16+core,assisted by its bonding interactions with the peripheral tridentate [（Tp*）WS3]4-ligands which possess both S→Fe donation and spin-polarized Fe-Wσ *** ground-state electron spin is theoretically predicted to be S=32/2 for the *** existence of low oxidation-state（OS～+1.23） iron in this compound may find interesting applications in magnetic storage,spintronics,redox chemistry,and cluster catalysis.

Development of metal-organic framework(MOF)films is of great importance to expand their ***,we report a facile and universal method of liquid-phase epitaxial(LPE)layer by layer(LBL)brushing approach for fabricating MOF films on various substrates in a high-throughput *** MOF films preparation method offers a great prospective to cost-effectively construct films with short preparation time and little reagent ***,this LBL brushing approach has been implemented successfully to assemble various MOF films,including HKUST-1,zeolitic imidazolate framework-8(ZIF-8),Cu(bdc),and Cu_(2)(L)_(2)P(L=bdc,ndc,and cam;P=dabco and bipy).Afterwards,the classic MOF HKUST-1 and ZIF-8 films were grown on sensor chip electrode and porous fiber support for good volatile organic compounds(VOCs)selective sensing and water purification *** study demonstrates that this LBL brushing preparation method can be employed to synthesize various MOF films with a variety of characteristics to realize their sensing and separation applications.

Copper alloy composite bit matrix was prepared by pressureless vacuum infiltration,using at least one of the three kinds of tungsten carbide particles,for example,irregular cast tungsten carbide,monocrystalline tungsten carbide and sintered reduced tungsten carbide *** effects of powder particle morphology,particle size and mass fraction of tungsten carbide on the microstructure and mechanical properties of copper alloy composite were investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and abrasive wear test in *** results show that tungsten carbide morphology and particle size have obvious effects on the mechanical properties of copper alloy *** tungsten carbide partially dissolved in the copper alloy binding phase,and layers of Cu_(0.3)W_(0.5)Ni_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)C phase with a thickness of around 8–15μm were formed on the edge of the cast tungsten *** 45%irregular crushed fine cast tungsten carbide and 15%monocrystalline cast tungsten carbide were used as the skeleton,satisfactory comprehensive performance of the reinforced copper alloy composite bit matrix was obtained,with the bending strength,impact toughness and hardness reaching 1048 MPa,4.95 j.cm^(2) and 43.6 HRC,*** main wear mechanism was that the tungsten carbide particles firstly protruded from the friction surface after the copper alloy matrix was worn,and then peeled off from the matrix when further wear occurred.

In light of the difficult removal of harmful impurity tungsten(W)in Ce metal,in this paper a combined vacuum gravity sedimentation-directional solidification method was innovatively designed and the W separation behavior was *** reducing the electron beam power instantly and gradually at reduction rates of 1,3 and 5 kW/min,it is found that W is enriched at the bottom of ingots as the melt *** enrichment effect is much better than that of single purification method and the enrichment degree increases as the beam reduction rate decreases,attributed to the k0(W)>1 andρ(W)>ρ(Ce).Overall,the minimum content of W impurity can decrease from 630 to 0.1 ppm at the top of the ingot,and the purity of Ce increases from 99.932 wt%to 99.995 wt%by this combined ***,this paper provides a new method for the removal of high density and low evaporation coefficient impurities in low vapor pressure rare earth metals.
