Pan-enteric dysmotility,impaired quality of.lif. and alexithymia in a large group of.patients meeting ROMEⅡ criteria f.r irritable bowel syndrome

AIM:Psychological f.ctors, altered motility and sensation disorders of.the intestine can be variably associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Such aspects have not been investigated simultaneously. The aim of.this paper was to evaluate gastrointestinal motility and symptoms, psychological spectrum and quality of.lif. in a large group of.IBS patients in southern ***: One hundred IBS patients (f.M=73:27, age 48±2 years, mean±SE) f.lf.lling ROME Ⅱ criteria matched with 100 healthy subjects (f.M=70:30, 45±2 years). Dyspepsia,bowel habit, alexithymia, psycho-af.ective prof.le and quality of.lif. were assessed using specif.c questionnaires. Basally and postprandially, changes in gallbladder volumes and antral areas af.er liquid meal and orocaecal transit time (OCTT)were measured respectively by ultrasonography and H2-breath test. Appetite, satiety, f.llness, nausea, and epigastric pain/discomf.rt were monitored using visual-analogue ***: Compared with controls, IBS patients had increased dyspepsia (score 12.6±0.7 VS 5.1±0.2, P＜0.0001),weekly bowel movements (12.3±0.4 VS 5.5±0.2, P＜0.00001, comparable stool shape), alexithymia (score 59.11.1 VS40.5±1.0, P=0.001), poor quality of.lif. and psychoaf.ective prof.le. IBS patients had normal gallbladderemptying, but delayed gastric emptying (T50:35.5±1.0 VS 26.1±0.6 min, P=0.00001) and OCTT (163.0±5.4 VS96.6±1.8min, P=0.00001). f.llness, nausea, and epigastric pain/discomf.rt were greater in IBS than in ***: ROME Ⅱ IBS patients have a pan-enteric dysmotility with f.equent dyspepsia, associated with psychological morbidity and greatly impaired quality of.*** presence of.alexithymia, a stable trait, is a novel f.nding of.potential interest to detect subgroups of.IBS patients with dif.erent patterns recoveed af.er therapy.

Carbon dioxide capture and reduction(CCR)process emerges as an ef.icient catalytic strategy f.r CO_(2)capture and conversion to valuable chemicals.K-promoted Cu/Al_(2)O_(3)catalysts exhibited promising CO_(2)capture ef.iciency and highly selective conversion to syngas(CO+H_(2)).The dynamic nature of.the Cu-K system at reaction conditions complicates the identif.cation of.the catalytically active phase and surf.ce *** present work aims at more precise understanding of.the roles of.the potassium and copper and the contribution of.the metal oxide ***γ-Al_(2)O_(3)guarantees high dispersion and destabilisation of.the potassium phase,potassium and copper act synergistically to remove CO_(2)f.om diluted streams and promote f.st regeneration of.the active phase f.r CO_(2)capture releasing CO while passing H_(2).A temperature of.350℃is f.und necessary to activate H_(2)dissociation and generate the active sites f.r CO_(2)*** ef.ects of.synthesis parameters on the CCR activity are also described by combination of.ex-situ characterisation of.the materials and catalytic testing.

Drought events inf.uence nutrient canopy exchanges and green leaf.partitioning during senescence in a deciduous f.rest

The increase in the f.equency and intensity of.drought events expected in the coming decades in Western Europe may disturb f.rest biogeochemical cycles and create nutrient def.ciencies in *** possible origin of.nutrient def.ciency is the disturbance of.the partitioning of.the green leaf.pool during the leaf.senescence period between resorption,f.liar leaching and senesced ***,the ef.ects of.drought events on this partitioning and the consequences f.r the maintenance of.tree nutrition are poorly *** experiment in a beech f.rest in Meuse(f.ance)was conducted to assess the ef.ect of.drought events on nutrient canopy exchanges and on the partitioning of.the green leaf.pool during the leaf.senescence *** aim was to identif. potential nutritional consequences of.droughts f.r *** nutrient dynamics,including resorption,chemistry of.green and senesced leaves,f.liar absorption and leaching in mature beech stands f.om 2012 to 2019 allowed us to compare the nutrient exchanges f.r three nondry and three dry years(i.e.,with an intense drought event during the growing season).During dry years,we observed a decrease by almost a third of.the potassium(K)partitioning to resorption(*** ef.iciency),thus reducing the K reserve in trees f.r the next growing *** result suggests that with the increased drought f.equency and intensity expected f.r the coming decades,there will be a risk of.potassium def.ciency in trees,as already observed in a rainf.ll exclusion experiment on the same study *** f.liar leaching and higher parititioning to the senesced leaves f.r K and phosphorus(P)were also *** addition,a slight increase in nitrogen(N)resorption ef.iciency occurred during dry years which is more likely to improve tree *** calcium(Ca)negative resorption decreased,with no apparent consequence in our study *** results show that nutrient exchanges in the canopy and the partitioning of.the green leaf

1. Introduction The tegmental wall of.the tympanic cavity is a thin plate of.the temporal bone that separates the middle cranial f.ssa(MCf. f.om the ear. This anatomical region consists of.two areas: an anterior one, comprised of.the tegmen tympani(To′th et al., 2007), and a posterior one, f.rmed by the tegmen antri and the tegmen mastoideum(Makki et al., 2011). In some patients, the tegmental region of.the temporal bone can be interrupted, causing a tegmen def.ct(TD). A TD is sometimes associated with a meningoencephalic herniation(MEH), in which brain tissue herniates through a TD.

An innovative approach was introduced f.r the development of.a AA6063 recrystallization model. This method incorporated a regression-based technique f.r the determination of.material constants and introduced novel equations f.r assessing the grain size evolution. Calibration and validation of.this methodology involved a combination of.experimentally acquired microstructural data f.om the extrusion of.three dif.erent AA6063 prof.les and results f.om the simulation using the Qf.rm Extrusion UK f.nite element code. The outcomes proved the agreement between experimental f.ndings and numerical prediction of.the microstructural evolution. The trend of.the grain size variation based on dif.erent process parameters has been accurately simulated， both af.er dynamic and static recrystallization， with an error rate of.less than 25% in almost the whole sampling computations.

Preserving microbial diversity has become a strategic undertaking. Thus, ex situ microalgal culture conservation results in strategic and f.nctional resource in both biodiversity protection and application domains. Cryopreservation of.microalgae has been practiced since the 1960s and is now considered the optimal preservation strategy. f.rthermore, the overall monitoring during growth of.cultures af.er f.eezing/thawing protocols was hardly investigated and there is poor evaluation related to preserve especially the photosystem apparatus. The present study f.cuses on Stichococcus bacillaris as case study f.r short-term cryopreservation at −80 °C storage. Various f.eezing pretreatments using cryoprotective agents, and two thawing methods were compared introducing a novel variable to evaluate viability recovery and assessing growth kinetics of.cultures immediately af.er thawing and af.er a series batch cultivation. Photosynthetic rate and pigments assessment were proposed to evaluate hidden metabolic cell damage. Results underline cryoprotective agents can increase the kinetic recovery of.preserved cells in terms of.reduction of.lag phase during batch cultivation tests: the use of.dimethyl sulf.xide and glycerol granted a growth comparable to unpreserved cells when sudden thawing occurs af.er 24 hours of.storage, but recovery af.er preservation is less sensitive to cryoprotective agents when gradual thawing and 1 month of.storage is considered. However, cells are always able to restore their physiological pathways even without agents, so their kinetic ef.ect has been proved and quantif.ed. Interestingly, both the photosynthetic ef.iciency and the ratio between total chlorophyll and carotenoids are comparable (0.75 f.sub>v/f.sub>m, 2.2 ± 0.25 g/g) to unpreserved cells and they are unsensitive to chosen agents, but the ratio between chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b was clearly altered (up to 10 times), suggesting that photoactive pigments relative proportions
