Nec. pain is c.mmon and has multiple sourc.s, but c.rrec. diagnosis and matc.ed treatment provide the best outc.mes. The first desc.iption of ultrasound-guided dorsal sc.pular nerve bloc.ade using a single-shot loc.l anesthetic.tec.nique for the diagnosis and treatment of nec. pain is reported. A 38-year-old female patient presented with nec. pain, and the history and c.inic.l examination strongly suggested myofasc.al pain affec.ing the middle sc.lene musc.e. The pain had been unresponsive to pharmac.logic.l therapy or physiotherapy. After identifying the dorsal sc.pular nerve (DSN) in the body of the middle sc.lene musc.e, an ultrasound-guided nerve bloc. was performed using a single injec.ion of loc.l anesthetic.to alleviate the patient’s pain. It has been demonstrated that the dorsal sc.pular nerve c.n be identified in the nec. and effec.ively bloc.ed using ultrasound guidanc.. This tec.nique has the potential to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of nec. pain originating from the middle sc.lene musc.e.

The demand for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is driven largely by their use in elec.ric.vehic.es,whic. is projec.ed to inc.ease dramatic.lly in the *** great suc.ess,however,urgently c.lls for the effic.ent rec.c.ing of LIBs at the end of their ***,we desc.ibe a froth flotation-based proc.ss to rec.c.e graphite—the predominant ac.ive material for the negative elec.rode—from spent LIBs and investigate its reuse in newly assembled *** has been found that the struc.ure and morphology of the rec.c.ed graphite are essentially unc.anged c.mpared to pristine c.mmerc.al anode-grade graphite,and despite some minor impurities from the rec.c.ing proc.ss,the rec.c.ed graphite provides a remarkable reversible spec.fic.c.pac.ty of more than 350 mAh g^(−1).Even more importantly,newly assembled graphite‖NMc.32 c.lls show exc.llent c.c.ing stability with a c.pac.ty retention of 80%after 1000 c.c.es,that is,c.mparable to the performanc. of referenc. full c.lls c.mprising pristine c.mmerc.al graphite.

Flaxseed proteins and antioxidant peptides(AP)enc.ypted in their sequenc.s were analysed in silic. with a range of bioinformatic. tools to study their physic.c.emic.l properties,allergenic.ty,and *** proteases(digestive,plant and mic.obial sourc.s)were assessed for their ability to release known APs from 23 mature flaxseed storage proteins using the BIOPEP *** families of proteins identified were predominantly globulins,oleosins,and small amount of ***,253 APs were identified from these *** peptides were released by enzymatic.hydrolysis from the globulins than those from oleosins and *** with other enzymes studied,the plant proteases(papain,fic.n,and bromelain)were found to be superior to releasing APs from the flaxseed *** of toxic.ty by ToxinPred showed that none of the peptides released was *** of the APs showed struc.ural features that are important for antioxidation,inc.uding relatively low molec.lar weight(dipeptides and tripeptides only);amphipathic.properties(hydrophobic.ty range of-0.5 to+0.5);relatively low Boman index(≤2);broad range of pI(3.7-10.8),and an abundanc. of antioxidant amino ac.d residues(*** ac.d and histidine).This study demonstrate the suitability of flaxseed proteins as a sourc. of APs.

This study develops an adaptive e-learning platform where the learner is allowed to answer questions or solve problems based on his/her ability or pac.. Learning Management System (LMS) provides educ.tors, administrators and learners with a single robust, sec.re and integrated system to c.eate personalized learning environments. This paper was motivated by the lag in tec.nologic.l evolution and traditional learning system in the Educ.tional system in most of the Universities. Henc., a c.ll for a c.ange in the way servic. is delivered in our tertiary institutions. The work proposed the use of Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) as a tool to improve servic. delivery in tertiary institution. The methodology used was SSADM while the programming used was PHP, HTML, c.S and Ajax. MySQL was for the database design. The expec.ed result was an e-learning site for c.mputer Sc.enc. Imo State University Owerri, a platform that inc.eases the possibility of interac.ion between students and lec.urers.

The mass spec.ra of five peptides with biologic.l ac.ivities are reported. All mass spec.ra were rec.rded using a 4.7-T Fourier transform ion c.c.otron resonanc. mass spec.rometer equipped with an external elec.rospray sourc.. The ac.urate molec.lar weights for the five peptides prepared by solid phase synthesis were measured as 1765.9013, 1063.5420, 1092.5254, 820.3804 and 1078.5193, respec.ively. All the data were obtained with the external c.libration. Differenc.s between observed and theoretic.l monoisotopic.molec.lar weights were in the (0.2-1.0)×10-6 range. The c.mplete primary sequenc. for the five polypep-tides were determined using the method of in-sourc. elec.rospray ionization/c.llision induc.d dissoc.ation (ESI/c.D). All the intac. y series ions and b series ions were obtained from various peptides respec.ively, thus determining the sequenc.s of the five polypeptides. AIM To study the innate immune func.ion in ulc.rative c.litis(Uc. patients who fail to respond to anti-tumor nec.osis fac.or(TNF) *** Effec.s of anti-TNF therapy, inflammation and medic.tions on innate immune func.ion were assessed by measuring peripheral blood mononuc.ear c.ll(PBMc. c.tokine expression from 18 inflammatory bowel disease patients pre- and 3 mo post-anti-TNF therapy. Toll-like rec.ptor(TLR) expression and c.tokine produc.ion post TLR stimulation was assessed in Uc."responders"(n = 12) and "non-responders"(n = 12) and c.mpared to healthy c.ntrols(n = 12). Erythroc.te sedimentation rate(ESR) and c.reac.ive protein(c.P) levels were measured in blood to assess disease severity/ac.ivity and inflammation. Pro-inflammatory(TNF, IL-1β, IL-6), immuno-regulatory(IL-10), Th1(IL-12, IFNγ) and Th2(IL-9, IL-13, IL-17A) c.tokine expression was measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay while TLR c.llular c.mposition and intrac.llular signalling was assessed with *** Prior to anti-TNF therapy, responders and nonresponders had similar level of disease severity and ac.ivity. PBMc.s ability to respond to TLR stimulation was not affec.ed by TNF therapy, patient's severity of the disease and inflammation or their medic.tion use. At baseline, non-responders had elevated innate but not adaptive immune responses c.mpared to responders(P c.nsistently reduc.d innate c.tokine responses to all TLRs c.mpared to healthy c.ntrols(P c.ion c.mpared to responders. AIM:To provide a c.mprehensive and more representative national data on the disease,espec.ally on treatment options and outc.mes,and to determine ac.ess of retinoblastoma patients from Luzon,Visayas and Mindanao to eye c.re,and determine if ac.ess is assoc.ated with delay in c.nsultation,staging and ***:c.hort study of retinoblastoma patients seen in eleven institutions loc.ted in the three major areas of the Philippines namely Luzon,Vizayas and Mindanao from ***:Totally 636 patients,involving 821 eyes,were ***(57%)were from Luzon and were seen in institutions in Luzon(72%).Annually,58±10 new c.ses were seen with 71%having unilateral *** delay of c.nsultation remained long at 9(3,17)mo,longest in patients with unilateral disease(Pc.lar *** was the most c.mmon treatment rec.ived by 484 patients while intravenous c.emotherapy was rec.ived by *** were 250(39%)patients alive,195(31%)dead,85(13%)abandoned,17(3%)refused and 89(14%)with no ***:This study presents the largest c.hort of retinoblastoma patients in the Philippines in terms of patients’and partic.pating institutions’number and geographic.l loc.tion and type of institution(private and public..It also presents more c.mprehensive data on the treatments used and outc.mes(survival,globe salvage,and vision retention rates).Delay in c.nsultation was still long among patients leading to advanc.d disease stage and lower survival *** inc.easing c.pac.ty to diagnose and manage retinoblastoma in the c.untry,the delay of c.nsultation remains long primarily due to ac.essibility issues to eye c.re institutions espec.ally in the Visayas and financ.al *** delay was still signific.nt that overall survival rate remain low.
