Tungsten is widely used as a material capable of withstanding extreme operating conditions and is one of the candidates for use in fusion and GenerationⅣfission *** modelling implemented to solve various material science problems is an indispensable approach for improving material *** work analyzes the interaction of an edge dislocation with a void in single-crystal tungsten with the help of molecular dynamics *** different approaches for studying the dynamics of dislocations in tungsten that differ in boundary conditions are *** interactions of the dislocation and void at different temperatures are investigated,and based on the obtained stress-strain curves,the dislocation obstacle strength for voids having various diameters is *** is shown that when applied to a crystal with small voids,the model with the fixed boundary conditions returns incorrect ***,the influence of the cell size for the model with periodic boundary conditions is analyzed,and the case of a non-central interaction of a dislocation with a void is *** obtained results improve our understanding of the mechanical response of irradiated materials.

Influence of field emission on microwave microdischarges

An instability in the stable operation of microdischarges sustained at microwave frequencies,is investigated by a self-consistent one-dimensional particle-in-cell monte Carlo collisions *** instability is caused by the field electron emission from electrodes and is triggered by the high electric fields at the sheaths in a dense *** an operating frequency of 9 GHz,and electrode gap of 60μm,the field emission(FE)is not active at the breakdown ***,once a stable dense plasma is produced post-breakdown,a strong sheath results in an electrode electric fields that exceed the threshold for FE causing a runaway in the electron generation in the plasma.

A solvable model of lateral line of a fish based on a wave equation with additional boundary conditions on a set of isolated points is *** the framework of this model it is shown that the ratio of pressures on lateral lines on different fish flanks,as well as the cross section of sound scattering on both the lines,strongly depends on angles of incidence of incoming sound *** strong angular dependence of the pressure ratio seems to be sufficient for the fish to determine the directions from which the sound is coming.

Operating limits and features of direct air capture on K_(2)CO_(3)/ZrO_(2) composite sorbent

Potassium carbonate-based sorbents are prospective materials for direct air capture(DAC).In the present study,we examined and revealed the influence of the temperature swing adsorption(TSA)cycle conditions on the CO_(2) sorption properties of a novel aerogel-based K_(2)CO_(3)/ZrO_(2) sorbent in a DAC *** was shown that the humidity and temperature drastically affect the sorption dynamic and sorption capacity of the *** a temperature at the sorption stage was 29℃ and a water vapor pressure P_(H2O) in the feed air was 5.2 mbar(1 bar=105 Pa),the composite material demonstrated a stable CO_(2) sorption capacity of 3.4%(mass).An increase in sorption temperature leads to a continuous decrease in the CO_(2) absorption capacity reaching a value of 0.7%(mass)at T=80℃.The material showed the retention of a stable CO_(2) sorption capacity for many cycles at each temperature in the *** PH2O in the inlet air from 5.2 to 6.8 mbar leads to instability of CO_(2) sorption capacity which decreases in the course of 3 consecutive TSA cycles from 1.7%to 0.8%(mass)at T=29℃.A further increase in air humidity only facilitates the deterioration of the CO_(2) sorption capacity of the material.A possible explanation for this phenomenon could be the filling of the porous system of the sorbent with solid reaction products and an aqueous solution of potassium salts,which leads to a significant slowdown in the CO_(2) diffusion in the composite sorbent *** investigate the regeneration step of the TSA cycle in situ,the macro ATRFTIR(attenuated total reflection Fourier-transform infrared)spectroscopic imaging was applied for the first *** was shown that the migration of carbonate-containing species over the surface of sorbent occurs during the thermal regeneration stage of the TSA *** movement of the active component in the porous matrix of the sorbent can affect the sorption characteristics of the composite *** revealed features make it possible

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is the most common chronic liver disease,leading to fibrosis,cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma and also associated with increased cardiovascular disease *** pathogenesis of NAFLD is not fully understood,although NAFLD is thought to be a hepatic form of metabolic *** is an increasing understanding of the role of microbiota disturbances in NAFLD pathogenesis,and as with many other conditions affecting the microbiota,NAFLD may be a novel risk factor for Clostridioides difficile(***)colonization(CDC)and *** infection(CDI).CDI is an emerging nosocomial disease,and community-acquired cases of infection are growing,probably due to an increase in CDC *** association of NAFLD with CDI has been shown in only 4 studies to date,three of which included less than 1000 patients,although the frequency of NAFLD in these studies was observed in almost 20%of the total patient *** data revealed that NAFLD is a risk factor for CDI development and,moreover,is a risk factor for intestinal complications of *** studies are needed to investigate this association and move forward CDC and CDI screening efforts for this group of patients.

Distribution area and taxonomic borders within the species complex Spermophilus erythrogenys sensu lato remain *** evidence suggests that red-cheeked ground squirrels of Southeast Kazakhstan are remarkably different in terms of the acoustic structure of their alarm calls from the red-cheeked ground squirrels of the Kurgan region in *** this study,we analyzed the differences in the acoustic structure of the alarm call and mitochondrial DNA(complete control region,1005-1006 bp and complete cytochrome b gene,1140 bp)in 3 populations of red-cheeked ground squirrels(Tara,Altyn-Emel and Balkhash),all located within areas isolated by geographical barriers in Southeast *** found that the alarm call variables were similar between the 3 study populations and differed by the maximum fundamental frequency(8.46±0.75 kHz)from the values(5.62±0.06 kHz)reported for the red-cheeked ground squirrels from the Kurgan region of Rus*** in mtDNA control region was only 3%and variation in cytochrome b gene was only 2.5%.Phylogenetic trees based on cytochrome b gene polymorphism of 44 individuals from the study area and adjacent territories indicated 3 clades with high(98-100%)bootstrap support:“intermedius,”“brevicauda”and“iliensis”).We conclude that the 3 study populations in Southeast Kazakhstan belong to the clade intermedius and suggest a taxonomical revision of the species complex Spermophilus erythrogenys sensu lato,including analyses of nuclear DNA and alarm calls for populations of the brevicauda and iliensis clades.

Towards high-performance tubular-type protonic ceramic electrolysis cells with all-Ni-based functional electrodes

Protonic ceramic electrolysis cells(PCECs),which permit high-temperature electrolysis of water,exhibit various advantages over conventional solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs),including cost-effectiveness and the potential to operate at low-/intermediate-temperature ranges with high performance and *** many efforts have been made in recent years to improve the electrochemical characteristics of PCECs,certain challenges involved in scaling them up remain *** the present work,we present a twin approach of combining the tape-calendering method with all-Ni-based functional electrodes with the aim of fabricating a tubular-designed PCEC having an enlarged electrode area(4.6 cm^2).This cell,based on a 25μm-thick BaCe0.5Zr0.3Dy0.2O3-δ proton-conducting electrolyte,a nickelbased cermet and a Pr1.95Ba0.05NiO4+δ oxygen electrode,demonstrates a high hydrogen production rate(19 m L min^-1 at 600℃),which surpasses the majority of results reported for traditional button-or planar-type *** findings increase the scope for scaling up solid oxide electrochemical cells and maintaining their operability at reducing temperatures.

The problem of determining the electron anomalous conductivity profile in a Hall thruster,when its operating parameters are known from the experiment,is *** solve the problem,we propose varying the parametrically set anomalous conductivity profile until the calculated operating parameters match the experimentally measured ones in the best *** axial 1D3v hybrid model was used to calculate the operating parameters with parametrically set *** of the conductivity profile was performed using Bayesian optimization with a Gaussian process(machine learning method),which can resolve all local minima,even for noisy *** calculated solution corresponding to the measured operating parameters of a Hall thruster in the best way proved to be unique for the studied operating modes of *** local plasma parameters were calculated and compared to the measured ones for four different operating *** results show the qualitative *** agreement between calculated and measured local parameters can be improved with a more accurate model of plasma-wall interaction.

value of two-phase dynamic multidetector computed tomography in differential diagnosis of post-inflammatory strictures from esophageal cancer

AIm: To characterize the computed tomography(CT) findings in patients with post-inflammatory esophageal strictures(corrosive and peptic) and reveal the optimal scanning phase protocols for distinguishing postinflammatory esophageal stricture and esophageal ***: Sixty-five patients with esophageal strictures of different etiology were included in this study: 24 patients with 27 histopathologically confirmed corrosive strictures, 10 patients with 12 peptic strictures and 31 patients with esophageal cancer were evaluated with a two-phase dynamic contrast-enhanced mDCT. Arterial and venous phases at 10 and 35 s after the attenuation of 200 HU were obtained at the descending aorta, with a delayed phase at 6-8 min after the start of injection of contrast media. For qualitative analysis, CT scans of benign strictures were reviewed for the presence/absence of the following features: "target sign", luminal mass, homogeneity of contrast medium uptake, concentric wall thickening, conically shapedsuprastenotic dilatation, smooth boundaries of stenosis and smooth mucous membrane at the transition to stenosis, which were compared with a control group of 31 patients who had esophageal cancer. The quantitative analysis included densitometric parameter acquisition using regions-of-interest measurement of the zone of stenosis and normal esophageal wall and the difference between those measurements(ΔCT) at all phases of bolus contrast enhancement. Esophageal wall thickening, length of esophageal wall thickening and size of the regional lymph nodes were also evaluated. RESULTS: The presence of a concentric esophageal wall, conically shaped suprastenotic dilatation, smooth upper and lower boundaries, "target sign" and smooth mucous membrane at the transition to stenosis were suggestive of a benign cause, with sensitivities of 92.31%, 87.17%, 94.87%, 76.92% and 82.05%, respectively, and specificities of 70.96%, 89.66%, 80.65%, 96.77% and 93.55%, respectively.
